45 minutes on the elliptical today. Rain rain rain. Work is ultra gross. (lay offs). ugh. Trying to stay positive and hopeful. I was not impacted this time but other really good people were.
-
It rained here, too, today.
Thanks, Joy.
Spring, I will keep you in my prayers, hoping that the lay offs will stop, and your job will be safe. Lay offs are just awful!!
HUGS
Harley -
Do'nt forget to change your clocks this weekend.
Everyone on the West coast - stay safe.
-
Hi all! Been keeping up with my exercise! not yet for today though...The earthquake/tsunami in Japan is just tragic. Praying for all involved. Stay safe all.
-
Kari, I agree, the situation in Japan is so scary! And the nuclear reactors! :O
Dearest Harley -- Thank you for your prayers. I am trying so hard to make it to retirement eligibility. That way I can get benefits in at the compay "group" rate vs the open market!!! That will be HUGE as you know, with a "pre existing condition"!!
So today, I did my 30 minutes of weight training at the gym. I am so good on my exercise routine if I am home!! (Being away, another story!)
Love to all! Keep moving! Spring.
-
Spring,
Keeping you in my prayers, dear. I know what you mean, about the insurance and pre existing conditions... UGH...

Hi all, haven't been on the boards much, but, wanted to pop in and say hi, I'm still getting the exercise in. Yesterday treadmill, not sure yet today
-
HI KMMD!!!!!!!
-
Hi everyone- Went to the gym with my husband this morning to do weights and now I am heading outside as the weather is warming up to do my 3 mile walk.....I am such the outdoor type of gal....luv that the daylight will be longer.....yipee!

Anyone else have to click the last page of this thread to get it to open?
Yoga by the fire again last night. It makes it such a treat. Now if only I had some water to do it next to in the warmer weather. Still cold windy grey and gloomy here, Can't wait for warmer sunny weather to get outside walking again. With the neuropathy trying to do it over snow and/or ice just doesn't work well. For the first time post chemo I feel like I'm getting some strength back and making some progress. Feels so good
-
June, it;s all messed up for me too when I open this thread. I have to click "147" or whatever the last page number is for it to load!!
KMMD, Yoga by the fire sounds so delicious. Good for you!
Saturday I did a 50 minute BIKE RIDE with DH and today I did 30 minute weight training at the GYM with BOTH DDs!! (home from college!) and then DH and one DD and I did a one hour plus bike ride. The weather in NC was GORGEOUS today! 77 degrees! Lovely day to speed along the greenway trails here. All that "winter work" on the eliptical paid off - the bike ride was enjoyable!
Does anybody else notice their LE act up when they do "inversion" stuff in Yoga? (up-side-down). Like Down Dogs or shoulder stands?? I believe these moves are causing me issues!!
-
I thought it was MY computer!!!
-
Spring, not as bad as some things, but, yes, especially if you hold the positions very long
-
Went for a run through the neighborhood yesterday...
was very tired today, maybe because of the time change... I dunno, but I took a nap, and I guess I am feeling better. I just know I have been so tired lately.
Oh, I want to share some news with you:
Today is my FOUR year cancerversary!! WHOHOO! FOUR years ago, my surgeon took IT out!
hope everyone has a great week!
Harley
-
Happy four year cancerversary, Harley!!! Congrats & hugs!!!
-
This is my 7th week post BMX. I have done absolutely nothing, but try to recovery from colds, open wounds, etc. I finally decided today was the day to start my exercise program. Did a simple 3.5 miles on treadmill (walking and a teeny bit of running), crunches and stretching. I feel great to be off my a** and moving! The overhead lights were shining down on the back of my body and all I see is cellulite (from being in bed for past 7 weeks) - on arms and legs! If this isn't motivation enough to get moving, I don't know what is.
-
Harley, CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is FANTASTIC!! You are in inspiration to me!!
Slinky, I know you feel better to get moving! Don't overdo, but keep going! It alraedy sounds to me like you are feeling empowered! This is what it's all about! Exercise can help prevent cancer recurrence! Another motivation!
Well Monday I did weights at the Gym, and again today (trying to get the LE to be less annoying! I've decided I'm oing every day until it is better!) I also did 90 minute Yoga today, but it was a make up class, and it was "gentle" Yoga and it was very nice! We used chairs for some of it and that was cool. Wonder if I can remember to do some of those chair moves sitting at my desk all day!!!
-
dlb823, Thanks!
slinky,
Congratulations on your exercise today! WHOHOO! Getting on a regular exercise program is an important step in the right direction!! Good for you! Way to GO!
Spring,
Thanks!! As we all know, it is just one day at a time.
Good for you, doing weights, and yoga, too!! We do have to be careful with that arm, since it IS at risk for LE. I had a mild case of LE, with my HAND swelling up after a Neulasta shot in that LE arm!

Springtime, Congrats on your workout, too! Before cancer, I worked out for an hour and a half a day for 4-5 days a week. Weights, elliptical and body resistance. I ate well and my weight was very normal - obviously my healthy lifestyle couldn't prevent cancer. Everyone is stunned that I got cancer, because they know me as the "workout girl". I plan on showing everyone that I am still the "workout girl" who survived cancer!
Harley, Congrats on your 4 year anniversary!
-
Missed you all - been down with flu, asthma and bronchitus, surgery scheduled for March 18th re-scheduled for March 28th. Lungs must be clear as a bell to preceed. Now off of work for leave of absense until May sometime or whenever I see fit to return. Just wanted to let you all know what was up...just caught up with posts today since my last post! Have a great week ya all!
-
Stephanie,
Hope you are feeling better soon, girl!!
Thanks, everyone, for the Happy Cancerversary wishes!! Spring, you inspire me!!
It is a nice day out today. Think I'll go for a short run through the neighborhood.
Have a great day!!
Harley
-
Spring and Slinky, WOW you go girls!
Stephanie, heal fast!!
Been raining cats and dogs here since Sunday, UGH! Been mall walking and some floor work at home with stretching. Chiro said I'm making BIG progress on those tight legs!!
Harley, gave you congrats on your 4 year on Facebook but CONGRATS here too!
Kate and June, HI!!
Have a great Wednesday ALL! I get to go see my precious grandbaby girl after work today! DD only has one more month off of work, her DH went back to work Monday, he works out of town during the week so that's tough.
-
Isn't the weather beautiful?? Sitting on my back porch enjoying this lovely weather. Fresh air!!! Been doing the Wii. Ainm is an inspiration for this. Hate it when I step on the platform and it goes "OOHH" Doing about 1/2 hour every day which is better than I was doing. Still walking twice a day with the Dd. I might not be burning calories but I mainly need it for toning and strengthing some. The yoga part is tough too.
I got a new blade for the lawnmower so that means I will get more exercise in the very near future. Going up to visit my future DIL and granddaughters next weekend.(25th) Have to cut it short because there are only 2 ferrys running on Saturday. Well at least I won't wear out my welcome this trip.lol
Hope all start feeling better and Slinky, take it slow and don't push. I use to teach aerobics and walked up to 8 miles a day at my job. And I came down with "C" too. I feel I could handle it better than some one that doesn't stay active.(Like my sister) Stephanie-get well soon. I hate spring colds and flu, and allergies. Since Chemo I haven't had to take my allergy meds that I took 365 a year. Go figure!!
Thought I had done something to the computer-glad to see it isn't just me. I have to click on the page to get back to where we are too. Everyone have a great day. I'm enjoying my day off and the weather is cooperating today.

Harley
Oh Happy Cancerversary!!!!!!! How awesome...and to the rest of you "gals" keep up that fitness...64 here today in IL and finally a day worth getting out, yes, the weather helps the tude as well as the fresh air in the lungs....just looking forward to each new day feeling better...
Excited to share stories and progress with you all. I've got my eye and sights set on my two year plan to return to that boday and person I once was in the fitness arena...walking will come very shortly here and it's off with my Bull mastiff pup to enjoy the walks and sights....she's got to drop some pounds, vet says she's over weight by 20 lbs....she's a lowrider and a pretty gal, a brindle and we can't feel her ribs...lol and she's weighing in at 108 and is only 16 months old....well, here we go horsey, it's off and walking to shed those winter lbs.!
Hugs to all...Stephanie and Dusty
-
Glad to see everyone up and movng around!
Sobx, you are right about being in shape and then getting the "C'. I am the most active in my family and if anyone had to get cancer, I am glad it was me. Physically and emotionally I am able to remain strong (even though I have my very weak moments) throughout this whole "C" journey.
I am very sore (in a good way) today and I wish I could lay on my stomach to get a massage! Darn TE's!
-
-
Same to you Ainm!! I think of you every day I get on the Wii.
-
Hey, where did everything go? Not that we need 147 pages of old posts -- do we? -- but this is a surprise! Do you think this is the complete fix, or maybe they're still working on it???
Hope everyone's enjoying a happy St. Patrick's Day. Deanna
-
I see nothing?????
-
YaY! I think it's fixed!
