Anyone watching Season 10 of American Idol?

Paul .. what a cute and unassuming singer. His dance moves, or his two step .. cracks me up. I feel happy when Paul performs.
James Durban -- Solid performaner .. he will go far! Always been a fan of his ... Rock Rock and more Rock.
I am tired, so tired of hearing the Celine Dion 'wanttobe' singers. PIA rocks it like no other -- sorry to the others who tried to show case their range last night.
Casey Abrams -- love him .. he is so talented, multi faceted. LOOOVE him (James Durban, as well)
Love Jacob .. but he needs to get out of his comfort zone .. with singing week after week, Luther Vandross - song mode .. Expand his horizons, otherwise, he will be gone once the idols go down to 5 or less
Girls .. no where near what I expected .. WHAT were they thinking????? Karen, ugh... Thia, showed her inexperience .. Aston (sp?) -- didn't like the song -- Lauren .. love her .. but very karaoke. Haley .. adorable and voice control, unbelievable ... PIA .. great, but that will take her just .. so...far.. I would love to see her sign a rock and roll, or country song.
LOL .. You would think I was some kind of record producer .. but, I am not. Just pretend to be one, after watching American Idol for 10 seasons.
No doubt, the guys are stronger and more compassionate, supportive of each other .. Then again, we gals can be catty ..

VickiSam, I agree with about all your comments... including about girls being catty -- but in spite of that, in the past it seems like they've been so much more supportive of each other, hugging and holding hands, etc. Not so far this year, but it's early. I'll be watching tonight!

I missed 'Simon' and his 'honest' comments last night. While he often, offended the contestants .. Honestly, 99% of the time, I agreed with Simon. So last night I felt disappointed by the love fest given to each contestant after their song. Call me crazy, I miss the friction provided by Simon. Don't get me wrong, but I love Steven .. JLo .. jury is still out on her, in my humble opinion .. and Randy needs to take the bull by the horn -- and man up to being the 'bad asssss' this season. Critique is important, nurturing contestants - I get it! I was just plain .. old... bored by the panel of judges last night .. With the exception of Mr. Steven Tyler .. International Women's Day, comment melted by heart .. and his fine white shirt ...

oooooh .. I forgot .. Adam Lambert is performing, tonight on Idol.. Love him ...

I think that Casey is very interesting musically. You never know what he will do. Same for James Durban. Whereas some of the girls don't seem as musically adept - they just have pretty voices (and pretty faces) and stand there and belt it out in a pretty dress very predictably.
If Ashthon or Thia or Karen go home, it will not be a great loss.
I didn't like Stefano before, but after last night, I want him to stay. He has good energy.
I guess we'll see what happens tonight!
-
Only problem with International Woman's Day was that Steven had the wrong day (it was the day before)
but he still gets big points for even knowing about it.
I agree, some healthy constructive criticism is in order, I like the judges but it is a bit too much "you're so great!" especially from JLo. I think that why some of the girls were surprised when then didn't get glowing reviews, they just expected the love fest would continue. I did hear Randy come up with some more constructive comments but in previous years the judges were always all over for people for not just being sound-alikes, and yet this year they love Pia and Scotty, who, again, have great voices but do nothing special or original. They're great singers, but to me they aren't A Idols.
Last year was disapointing because of the lack of talent. This year it's getting to be a drag because some of the great talent isn't doing anything special with it.
Yeah, can't wait to see Adam!
OK, Naturegrrl is taking off her music critic hat
PS I can see Casey and James as the final two, but you never know.
-
I didn't know Lambert was on tonight. He's amazing .. have to remember to tune in!

I am watching and didn't think I would with Simon gone. I liked Simon as he told it as it was, which was needed in some cases. Paula was ditsy and Randy, well he is Randy. I actually liked Ellen, she wasn't much of a music critic, but I think she is very funny.
I tuned in for the auditions as they are usually quite entertaining, but then kept watching because of........Steven Tyler! Who knew....the guy is a hoot......and yes, he is still pretty hot. But then I am approaching 55 and so who wouldn't think a 60-some old rocker isn't hot?
Seriously, he is incredibly entertaining and seems to be taking his judging role seriously. I like JLo ok, some of her movies are fun, very light, but fun. I am not sure if she will be able to deliver the hard news when things get more competitive, but we'll see. Maybe her role is supposed to be the nice one?
Thanks for starting this thread, kind of nice to talk about something mindless!

I project .. Thia may be going home, or Ashton.
Mad World, love it ... by Adam Lambert ... so talented! I LOVE him .. don't care about his sexual orientation or preference... I so enjoy the talent he has displays in his songs, and artistry. My prefect night .. would be for Adam to sing for 40 minutes .., a few commercials .. Ryan would then then call up the bottom 3 .. say, adios to the bottom vote getter, Ryan would then hand over the microphone back to Adam, where he sings to the end of tonight's episode. . LOL

I think Adam lost votes when outed. He's now doing OK.
-
Sorry, I'm late...
My opinion of who will be in the bottom 3.. Naima, Karen and Ashton with Karen being the one to go tonight. Wish the girls would get their "stuff" in a bucket and show off what they really have! The guys are just hitting it out of the park and leaving the ladies behind in the dust!
I think James Durbin is going to go all the way, but we shall see! Couple of the other guys could do it too! I am surprised that not more people are talking about Haley Reinhart.. I think she has done an AMAZING job with every song she has done.... Her rendition of Fallin' by Alicia Keys was just REALLY good!
-
Adam Lambert was great tonight! Don't know if those on the west coast have got the results yet, so I won't say a word!
Bren
-
BinVA,
I was thinking the same thing!! Really wanting to talk about tonight but, I think the ladies out west haven't watched yet.... Biting my tongue! LOL
-
I don't say anything either.Bren.... They don't get the result until midnight ET.
All I can say the right person went home tonight.
I noticed J Lopez was very emotional at the end i knew this singer was going home.
-
Is there a 3 way PMing?
Im redy for PMs if anybody is interested.
-
go ahead .. post ... who was voted out ??? Vicki in California ??
-
-
Adam Lambert was excellent!
-
I really want to see what happens to some of these contestants when they start with the genre songs....I hope some of them can "make it their own" like Adam did. Also curious to see who they will have as the singing mentors (they have been so lame in the last few seasons). The voting audiance got it right on this vote.
-
I agree -- sorry, Ashton, but you didn't do anything for me.
I was and wasn't surprised to see Haley in the bottom 3 -- she has a unique sound and picked a song that was near to her heart but it was definitely an older piece and didn't endear her to the younger (and majority) of voters. I loved it but hopefully next week she'll pick better. (seaside, Haley is one of my favorite women, if not my fav, so you're not alone in liking her) (but we clearly aren't the majority!).
Adam's song was sweet, and although I think his message was clear, the message was also universal and could apply to just about anyone. Good to see him.
I thought the way they announced the bottom 3 was a shock. It must've been planned but it almost didn't feel like it.
The girls were chummier, maybe they heard me wondering
If they announced the song theme for next week, I missed it.
Anyway, always fun
-
NatureGirl -- The girls were supportive of each other, more so than what I've seen the past few weeks.
What happened to Casey? Hospitalized, for ? I am concerned, as I adore him. I hear or read that he has - asperger sydome, a milder form of autism. Perhaps, I am wrong
American did get it right! Ashton -- good bye .. I am now warming up to JLO -- tears were steaming down her cheeks as she told Ashton ' no baby, not this time' .. as the judges all agreed to use 'their' 1 save. Okay, she is real.. and she brings pzazz to the show. I an admit when I am wrong! LOL

.. This is what I found ..
At a time when he would surely like to be focused on singing, American Idol contestant Casey Abrams is dealing with a health scare.
The singer, who was absent from Thursday's elimination show, has ulcerative colitis, a source tells PEOPLE.
The condition, which causes abdominal pain and cramping, was treated at a hospital in Los Angeles, where Abrams, 20, received two blood transfusions Thursday night. -
I can't remember the rocker guys name, but he is the one with possible Asperger's and also Tourette's syndrome.
Hope Casey is okay. Ulcerative colitis is very painful. I love Haley's voice and the Rhimes song she did .. would love to hear her do some Patsy Cline!
I'm glad they sent Ashton home .. she was on my last nerve!
Bren
-
I agree with Ashton going too! ... and I just adore Adam. I heard he is doing really well internationally. I hope Casey can continue in the competition ~ he is very talented too!
p.s. Steven Tyler got International Women's Day correct, actually... the show was taped on Tuesday. -
No way the judges would have used the one time save.
-
Oh, I like Haley, too. I think she has potential to go far if she picks the right songs.
I'm not upset about Ashton going home either, but I thought it would have been Karen last night (WOW, I'm actually starting to remember their names!)
Sherrill
-
I'll need more time to get all the names straight.
-
Poor Casey, I hope this does not interfere with his continueing on. He was just wonderful on Tues., definitely one of my favorites. Ashton was a good choice not to be saved, I felt she had a Diva attitude too and some of her singing was just plain flat. Karen
-
Diva attitude that was feed by JLo and her comments. Contestants now need to pick the right songs, and make sure they appeal to the larger audience who call, text and vote them thru to the next week. The 3 judges -- have only 1 save, and they will use it wisely.
I don't know why, but, Karen bugs me .. !
Vicki Sam
-
Yeah, I'm not feelin the love for Karen, either. Can't really put my finger on it, but she just irks me, too.
