-
Tomorrow will be crying time. So tonight I'll try to pick the one's going home. But keep it to myself. How many go home?
-
Excellent question ... I looked on line, and didn't see a number ...
-
The competition breaks wide open tonight on American Idol with the arrival of our Top 13 performers. Six guys and seven girls will face off in the first co-ed competition round of the season where only twelve will survive........
---------------------------------------------------------------
This is what I found.
Maybe next week they they vote two out.
-
-
Wild times indeed. I am excited about tonight!

I forgot to mention that Steven Tyler .. according to news sources has increased Amercian Idol viewership by 12%. Women over the age of 45 are now tuning in to watch AI ... or shall I say, Mr. Steven Tyler.

I love hearing that about Mr. Steven Tyler! I love him, he cracks me up. I had no idea why on earth he would be doing this show when I first heard about it, but now I think it was a brilliant idea!
I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to tonight - it's like candy and a baby. They sure have me hooked! Sheesh - I'm an American Idol addict!
-
Im a AI addict also.
And I enjoy every minute of it.
-
Half hour to go.

Thank You to all my sisters here providing a place where we can talk about the show.
I really appreciate all of you. I'm not crazy after all liking this show so much.
I don't know about you but I cant connect to certain contestants even though their voices are great.
Well...I just voted on line and its posted on FB.
Are we gonna tell who we voted for or not?
-
OMG, I was NOT a fan of James Durbin - until tonight. He totally rocked that Paul McCartney song! My DH likes Pia but I think that is based on her looks! LOL.

I thought I would not like Steven, but he is an abslute love. I think I have a huge crush on him. He is so kind. I love watching him and J LO listen to the songs, how they move to the music. Very talented group this year. Karen
-
I adopted James as my son for the show.
He is great and looks very genuine to me.
-
We still like Lauren Alaina and Paul McDonald.
-
Teka, I liked both Lauren and Paul too. I thought their performances tonight were weak. Did you? My prediction is that Lauren, Paul, Karen or Thia (I think that was her name) will leave us tomorrow night.
What are all of your predictions?
Susan
-
Thia, Ashton, and the one sang the Umbrella the last one.
I think Lauren and Paul will remain (even though they weren't that good tonight)
I voted for PIA.
-
I really love Paul's voice, looks, and dance movements. I am 61 and get off on watching male singers with the complete package like Steven Tyler.
-
Again, a lot of good performances, a few weak ones, and overall I think the men are performing much more powerfully and movingly than the women. I like all the men for different reasons but I think James and Casey will rise to the top -- but who knows -- it depends on the whims of the voters! Paul is so cute and quirky, Jacob is just downright incredible, Scotty is great (and I know they're encouraging him to stay a one-note wonder, and I understand why, but I just don't see him as the AI because he doesn't show any diversity).
I still like Haley a lot, she has elements to her voice that no one else does, but I'm also a fan of bluesy music and that's what she sings a lot. I thought Lauren was especially weak last night but she has a lot of fans so I'm thinking she'll make it through -- I'd pick Karen or Thia to not make it through, not that they aren't good (again, gosh, everyone is this year!) but because I think other women are more popular. Naima (sp?) was a wild card so she may not have the fan base but I'm thinking her routine last night might have grabbed a lot of voters.
Pia has an incredible voice and sings with a lot of power but I feel absolutely no connection to her when she sings -- and she doesn't do anything special with the songs.
I think some of the women are kind of sliding on the fact that they've been told they're great (and they all are, really) so they don't seem to get that they really have to push now.
Has anyone else noticed that the guys seem to be really warm with each other, but the girls aren't doing the hugs and hand-holding they have in the past? I'm just picking up a sense that the girls aren't connecting with each other very well. Might spice the show up a bit if they had some hidden cameras in the house to see if there's any melodrama going on (just kidding!)
anyway, I'll be watching again tonight to see if I pick up on that again.
If I had to pick someone to leave, I think it'll be Stephano -- he performed better than some of the others if you just look at last night, but many of the other performers have a stronger fan base and I'm thinking that'll keep them on a little longer. But I'm probably wrong
(I usually am!) so it'll be fun to see what happens.
-
The girls may see each other as a threat instead of just performing for the voters. They need to learn to put their best foot forward on camera. I bet the judges aren't all smiles off camera.
