As I do not come on this site very often (being very busy with my work and family), I would like to post this message to give hope and encouragement to all the women affected by this disease.

I was diagnosed on March 8 2006 withstage 3C Locally advanced cancer:

ER/PR-,HER2 +++,14 cm tumor, 22+ nodes, orange peel appearance of my affected breast skin, lympho-vascular invasion

I had neo-adjuvant chemo (4 AC,followed by 4 Taxotere/Herceptin and then continued with Herceptin for 1 year),followed by mastectomy,radiation and reconstruction.

I had complete pathologic response to chemotherapy and my surgeon was very surpised when the results from the pathology showed no cancer found in my breast and nodes (I had a very large tumor, as you can notice). 5 years down the road, I am well and cancer free.

Best regards,

Marina
