Jo yes, they are from my step-sons, who I raised.  So I have 4 grandchildren ranging from 16 to 4  The 16 year old likes to hang out with me because she says I am much cooler than her friends grandmas.  I tell her it is because I am younger but she still thinks I am old just cool. I am just thankful she likes to hang out with me. Our youngest son who passed away was only 3 1/2  years older than our granddaughter.

Sherry - We learn something new everyday.  Good for you bein thought of as a cool grandma.  Do you spoil them on a regular basis?  You know, that is what grandmas are supposed to do.

Jo-yes I spoil them as often as I can but they do not live near me so it makes it hard.  But this past weekend the youngest son and family came to visit and my granddaughter told them she was staying with us and not going home.  She would not let her mother give her a bath while they were here.  Only Mimi could do it and in Mimi's bath tub not the one in there bedroom.  Kids are funny but at least we know they love us and that they feel loved.

Wow, Mary!  I thought he was bigger than that.  He looks so sturdy.  My first was 9 lbs and 22 in.  I felt like I lost a month of being a mother because he was so big. He was 3 weeks late, too.

DIL says she was over 9 lbs and is worrying if Baby-Boo is going to  take after it's mommy and daddy.  I was told that subsequent babies always got larger, and I was scared, but in my case they got smaller.  Each coming closer to their due date.

thanks, Eph, it is such a blessing.  We had a real great thunderstorm come in this morning.  I woke up @ 7:00 am to very loud rumbling thunder and lots of rain.  It has rained all the pollen out of the trees.  Only up in the high 60's today and tomorrow and then back to the 80's.  This is probably our last cool period til next late fall.

Cool today and tomorrow then up into the 7-s for the next week.  No rain in the forecast.  The highes it has ever been here in March is 93, so I doubt we get that warm.

the sun just peeked out here after 24 hours of rain...lost power for about 20 minutes last night...the northern part (only 30 miles away) of the state is under water with the Passaic River still due to crest this weekend...alot of NJ folks will be displaced again...but this is not as scary as the earthquake & tsunami in Japan with pending tsunami's in Hawaii and California!

My kids' grandfather lives on the bluffs on the central CA coast.  If you stand in their backyard you look down 30 to 40 feet to the ocean.  I doubt anything would bother them, but there are areas right on ocean level.  Since Hawaii wasn't hit with huge waves, I doubt CA will be, but time will tell.

Meece - If CA does get hit, you can always get your surf board out.

I only have a couple of skim boards in the garage.  Won't be floating anywhere on them! Laughing

Karen - Way too cold for this deep South Texas girl.  Had sunshine, clear skies, light breeze and 78 degrees today.  Now that is picture perfect weather for March.

Oh! Maybe - do you have a fireplace?  I could stay inside and curl up with a good book.

I'll buy you that fireplace if that's what it takes to seal the deal.  70's in March, what bliss.  Karen

Karen - The next 7 days we will be in the low 80s - my winter clothes have been put away - the capris and sandals are out and in use.

You don't have to buy the fireplace - I could wrap up in a soft blanket.

a warm blanket, a good book and a mug of hot chocolate with the little marshmallows in it, plus a bag of your favorite Pepperidge Farms cookies.  That is the way I've gotten through a snowy day.  It's great for a few days a month but not the whole month!  Today is sunny with rain and then a wintry mix coming in later today.  I can hear the birds, maybe spring isn't so far away.  Jo, it's been fun chatting with you. In Michigan, it is cold here, although the snow has finally melted from the streets from the storm in late Feb.   I got outside for bike ride with my dog.  He loves to run, he is a jack russell terrorist (seriously), and he needs the exercise and so do I .  It was cold, but with a winter coat and good gloves, we both enjoyed the ride.

Next week is calling for low 50's ....which will seem like a heat wave for us northerners!

Thanks Jo for the offer, the 80's no less. Today it is 31 and cloudy, so I took my own advice and snuggled in with hot cocoa and a good book.  Tonight and tomorrow call for approximately 1 and a half inches of snow, but after watching the tsunami news on T.V., I'll take the snow over what has happened to that nation. It really puts things in perspective.  Karen  p,s, I typed that whole message with my siamese stepping over and around my hands, shows you who rules the house.

I agree Karen, I'll take the snow over a tsunami and an earthquake also.  We're at 35 degrees in mid michigan a lot of the snow has melted but too cold for me to be outside and walking.  The cat finally went out on the porch and stayed out for about 1/2 hour yesterday.  She usually doesn't stay out unless it's in the 50s or above.

It was 80 degrees and overcast today with some wind.  Good day for me to be working out in the gardens.  A lot of my stuff got damaged with the really unusual ice storm we had this winter.  Got lots of new plants in the ground.  I have one more section to do tha will have to wait for another day.  I am too tired to even think about it right now.

Yes you do Joni.  I finally have decided that I'll show my year of hair growth.

We're supposed to warm up this week and maybe we'll make it into the 60s by Thursday.  Woo Hoo!
