Baby it's cold outside

I'm with Meece, never ending - one time I got so far behind that one Sunday DH and I had to take everything to the laundry mat to catch up. I was working full time plus being on call as a visiting nurse and DH was in college for mechanical engineering full time, we had the three older kids in three different schools (elementary, middle and high school) and the baby who was 2 or 3 at the time. The kids were in extra cirricular activities (we only allowed them 2 each) and no one except DH and I could drive yet and we lived too far away from the schools for them to walk. It was awful. I don't know how we did it. Geeze - now I am remembering, the house seemed to always be a mess, no laundry done, barely had time to throw dinner on the table. I'm SOOOO glad those days are done! It would get better in the summer cause the kids were out of school and could clean and do their own laundry.

I was sitting in my living room this afternoon, watching the snow come down like it was never going to end and noticed the world looked awfully dark and kinda greenish. Next thing I knew I saw a bright flash, then BAMM, thunder shook the house and my 63 pound pooch was shivering in my lap! Haven't had that good a thunder snow in years! 5 minutes later the sun was out again and the snow was melting. Gotta love March in Maine.
-
NM, does that mean March came in like a lion so it will go out like a lamb? I hope so.
-
I hope so! That's a good way to look at things, anyway. Temp is 4 degrees and falling, with the wind picking up, wind chills predicted in the -50 range. Black ice everywhere. Going to be a long, slow drive to work this am.
-
We had the bad weather Monday night (2-28) but Tuesday (3-1) was a wonderful spring day. I guess we will get the bad weather the end of the month.
Today morning temps were close to freezing and high temps in the mid 50's. Expecting cooler afternoon temps through the weekend and some rain.

Around four yesterday it started to sprinkle. We got about 1/10", so I guess the weather guesser was right on the rain Wednesday, the question is, has it already passed, will it rain this morning, or later??? When I left the hospital around 3 it was eerily warm, definitely not sweater weather, or even long sleeved. Wonder what that was about.
-
Sunny again today, temp is in the mid 20's, supposed to have snow turning to slushy snow later - oops there went the sun. Next 7 days we will have 30's and 40's, that is more seasonable for us. Love, love the sun. Karen
-
A picture perfect day here. Sunny and 83 degrees. Bad thing is I have to work and can't be outside enjoying the weather. I do have the sandals on.
-
We're up to 28 (from the single digits) sun is gone but it did peek out a little bit today. I'm hoping for better weather tomorrow but we'll see.
-
I just took this picture from my home office window as I am reading posts. As you can see, the rain has gone away today.
-
Meece - Nice neighborhood.
-
Note the kids in t-shirts playing basket ball, and DH out mowing the lawn. Ah, suburbia!
-
Looks splendid. Love the picture Meece. We're up to 42 degrees this morning. The schools started late this morning though because of ice covered roads. No sun but at least it's above freezing.
-
I have spent the day in slacks and a short sleeved blouse, and been comfy other than in the hospital where they keep it cool to preserve the patients.
-
The weather men are forecasting 1-3 inches of rain for tomorrow night, then a switch to snow on Sunday. Two sunny days next week and temps in the 30's and 40's possible. Our snow mounds should be gone with the rain tomorrow. Karen
-
This morning we have 45 degrees and calling for rain. They said 30% chance today but already getting showers. calling for 100% chance tomorrow for more rain possible storms. Since we are still below normal on rain I am not minding the rain. Afternoon temps near 70.

35.5 degrees and rising, spitting snow at times. Rain expected. Gonna be an interesting day!
-
In the low 70s today with a chance of much needed rain. It looks like it is trying to rain right now. Hope we get enough to water my plants.
-
jo, we're getting enough rain to water anyone's plants today. In WNY, we never do things halfway, when it snows ,it snows and when it rains, it is like the great deluge. Today is the very definition of dreary, it is supposed to rain all day and then for an extra bonus change over to snow for tomorrow.
-
Karen - I will take some of the rain - you can keep the snow. The rains you get sound like what usually happens here. It is a deluge or nothing. We did get a downpour for several minutes and everything got a nice drink of water. Hope more is on the way.
-
Another beautfiul day today, but rain possible tomorrow. We really need the rain. It is 69 degress. I just walked my girls (2 black labs) and it was just drizzling on me when we finished. My precious grandbaby will be born on Tuesday--weather to be beautiful and it is Mardi Gras. I plan to wear my Mardi Gras beads under my scrubs when I go in
-
It's 35.5 degrees, raining, and the rain is freezing onto everything. Got about 1/2 inch of ice on everything. LIstening to the scanner in between power bumps, lots of cars off the road, an ambulance is having trouble getting to a call due to slick roads. Gonna be a very, very messy and dangerous day. But the university hasn't called off school yet! Of course, the weather is very different in different areas today. May be only rain where the campus is. I'm staying home anyway.
-
It's 9 degrees and the sun is shining. Very slick back roads but once I got on the main roads they were thankfully dry. I think we're supposed to get into the mid 30s today with no precip! Yeah!! Glad you're staying home NM, not worth a potentially dangerous drive to work!
-
ooooh, Mary! I'll bet you are so excited!!! It feels so good to tick down each week, and I can't wait 15 more until I will be in your shoes.
-
Is currently 64 and the high will be 76 today. Should be a beautiful day. Hopefully will start on my vegetable garden this weekend.
-
My campus is 65 miles away, but there is a satellite campus only 25 miles away. The satellite campus was closed. There's just so much variation in the weather and driving conditions in such short distances here, especially in winter and spring.
-
It is 80 degrees right now and windy. Expecting a front tomorrow so it is windy today. Tomorrow's high will be 87. Darn, and I am stuck inside working.
One thing about my job, I can come to work in capris and flops so if I do go outside, I am dressed for the weather.

I just found this thread, and though I've skipped most of the 91 pages, nothing would make me happier than talking about the weather. This may be your first report from Israel, not sure (since I haven't read all 91 pages...) We live near Tel Aviv, not far from the ocean, and we are having what Israelis call 'winter.' Today was sunny in the mid 60's with some clouds and they're calling for a big storm on Wednesday. That can mean flooding in the desert, rain in the midsection and snow in the north, all with lots of wind. Can even have hail and a sandstorm thrown in. Everyone is so grateful for rain during this, the rainy season, that no one complains. It will stop raining soon and then we won't see a drop until perhaps next November. I hail from the mountains of Pa, so it's funny to hear this described as 'winter.' Best part is that the air is starting to smell like orange blossoms and that makes me happy each morning. Thanks for letting me go on about the weather!
-
sgreenarch - Welcome - glad you found us. Sorry you have to be here under the circumstances. We do have another lady from Israel - my rad brain is keeping me from remembering her name at the moment. I'm sure someone else will come along and fill in the blank.
We love talking about the weather wherever folks are.
-
it's sunny and 29. Lord it is so good to see the sun. Tomorrow, in the 30's and sunny again, just the sight of the sun makes you feel better. The cats, Emma and Sphie are sprawled on the rug in sunny spots
