Hey CoolBreeze you can't be the last kid picked on the playground cause that was me.  I stick to my exercise thread cause that is what I do daily but I read around and there are ladies who I think that I would love to have as "friends" - Konakat and Barbe1958 are two that pop into my mind and I think I've only made one comment to Barbe but we seem to have the same sense of humor, yes I love to read the food/cooking threads but I'm not much of a cook, just a fantastic eater but I have picked up some great recipes, and I don't think I would have ever tried quinoa save for reading about it here and now I love it. So you see there are lots of us out hereWink

So happy to see you all here!  I hope you are feeling welcome and loved.  BCO is a great place for that.  I will have a margarita too.....they are my downfall.  LOVE them!

The Housecleaning thread has NOTHING to do with housecleaning.  It's what they do INSTEAD of house cleaning.  If I remember correctly, Cathi actually had her vacuum cleaner catch fire a year or so ago.  A great lesson for the rest of us.....never vacuum!

Thinking Out Loud is about anything.  We're crazy.

I love reading the Drinking thread too!

    Please join us!

I'm so happy that so many ladies have responded to you, Coolbreeze.  I also feel disconnected and I want that to change.  This is a place that I feel I need to check in on several times a day because this cloud of cancer never really leaves me, no matter how nice a day I'm having.  Yet I don't connect on a personal level.

Time for change!  Be my friend!  I'll bring the blender and ice, since I don't know how to make anything exciting.  But this new me is willing to try new things!

    ps...pm me anytime!  I promise I'll respondSmile

Ann!  Nice to see you back, but I'm a thread hopper myself.  I check in and glance around to see if I can add my two cents about my own experience, but I'm not a real opinionated gal when it comes to breast cancer.  Or Breast Cancer Forums I guess.  I just like coming here, it makes me think and calms my fears, and sometimes gives me new ones.

When I first started coming here, I think I was still under a hundred posts, I was on a thread where someone pointed out that someone else was stalked and exposed and all kinds of things that sounded pretty harsh.  Not being a denizen of any other boards, and not understanding how all that works, or why, I decided to be more careful and I deleted my Diagnosis, although I still insert it into the body of some posts.  I don't give up much geography, though from time to time I've unobtrusively noted that I'm in a small city in FL.  And I don't have an Avatar.  And I try to stay away from the major controversies, although sometimes I've composed a post and then erased it.

I still remember your first posts; I'll be your friend!

But apparently I'm more of a lurker, who knew?

By reading this thread I realize how many women are like me....."a lurker".  I seldom post. Even thou my treatment was almost 3 years ago I still have my cancer worries and problems. It's amazing how much help I have received just by reading these threads. Thanks Ladies.

CoolBreeze, I would love to be your friend.

Hi Coolbreeze - I started here a couple months before you did and I know what you mean.  I participate but very few people seem to remember me too.  I'm around if you need me sister!

    Hi Coolbreeze,

Your post put into words what I've been feeling, too. I have been around for quite awhile, but don't feel like anyone "knows" me! Even worse, my topics never get much response. Sheesh! Maybe it's the cyber aspect. In real life, I am the one with quirky sense of humor who is ready to do something interesting or fun.

    Here's some info about me:

Love my kids, work at a gym doing member services/sales, love to walk and workout, am taking up tarot card reading, am getting my first tattoo soon (an owl), have an interest in visual arts and home decorating, love history and old buildings, am an amateur genealogist, like car shows and muscle cars, like to facebook (look me up under Catherine Glynn), like scrabble and reading,

    AND

I am a survivor of the breastcancer nightmare: bilat mast., chemo, tamoxifen, the works. Had terrible anxiety and depression because of diagnosis and treatment-but it gets better, and I enjoy my life tremendously.

If you think our interests jive, let's be friends here, or on facebook!

So glad to see this thread!  I am so glad to see that I am not alone.  I have not posted alot but have found comfort and support through reading these threads.  I started treatment at the same time.  I am happy to be your Cyber Friend!

    Hey Coolbreeze

Great post. I remember seeing some of your posts here before. Good sense of humour. I have also read some of your blog and you have a gift for blogging. BTW..... I have stuck mostly to my original thread which consists of a group of us that all went through chemo at the same time. I enjoy reading the other threads but don't post often. I am a bit shy and not at ease trying to jump into threads that have an established base. Maybe the group of gals that are responding here will get a whole new group started. I don't think it's a matter of not being welcomed on other threads, it's possibly because a lot of them move at lightening speed. There are some very funny, gracious and knowledgable ladies on these boards and, like you, i enjoy posts from gals like KK and Barbe. They are a joy to have here.
    Cheers
    Beth

Ann, as you can see you aren't alone on the boards.  I have a kazillion posts and go on some of the word game threads.......A LOT!! Wink  My interest in particular threads comes and goes but I've definitely made a connection with several gals.  You might think about getting in touch with others who are from your area.  Any other Sacramento gals out there?

I'm from Seattle, and I know there's a thread called "Crazy Sexy Cancer in Seatte" but I don't feel like I belong there because they have all had chemo and I haven't. I wish there was another Seattle group. Anyone here from Seattle?

Mary .. I didn't have chemo either, so I don't belong in the chemo threads either.

But I'm enjoying the "I say yes, you say no" thread because the topic jumps around a lot and we can talk about anything and everything.  It does move very fast though, so at times it's hard to keep up.

Coolbreeze, I remember reading many of your posts ... I think you just started a wonderful friendship thread with lots of amazing women!!

BinVa-I enjoy that thread as well, but I don't post very often. I'm usually more of a "post with my emotions" and some of the people there make me want to spit! Then I end up getting deleted....but I love that thread. I check on it every day.

Just lurking and identifying with alot of what CoolBreeze has said!

... then I saw Mary ~ I'm from Seattle-ish area, Mary!! :)   I "joined" that Crazy Sexy Cancer thread when I was first diagnosed and didn't even clue in that it was under the "Chemo Board"!  I even went to their get together (it was before my surgery) and was surprised to find out that ALL of them had to have chemo.   ... until I finally noticed which thread it was under! Doh!

I'm planning on attending their next get together in March ~ and no, I didn't do chemo either... you should come too, Mary! :)

SusansGarden-When did you figure out they were on the chemo board? After the dinner?? LOL.:)

I'll check their thread more closely, and maybe I will come to the March dinner.

Do you have snow? I have about 1/2 inch here in  Shoreline.

YES! After the dinner!! LOL!! I was telling my husband that I was disappointed and it made me a little scared that they ALL ended up with chemo!  I only saw the thread because it was active at the time I joined.  Yeah, I felt pretty stupid when I realized it was on the chemo board!

We have about the same snow over here (I live in Gig Harbor, but work in Tacoma).  The Narrows Bridge was a nightmare to cross last night!

Are you a dog lover too? (looking at your avatar pic).  I am :) ... I'm actually allergic, so have a Bichon and a little Bichon-mix we rescued.  Best part of recouping from surgery in Dec was getting to cuddle up with them! ;)

    Here's their "official portrait" ;)

coolbreeze - I love your posts...I run into you on all sorts of threads...my 'home' is the stage iv forum but I really have no home thread - I just butt my old nose in on a topic that interests me - sure, I get in a bit of a scuffle now and then but what is any different than the real world?

And sure, I can be a friend...been having a bit of an issue with the consumption of beer - it does not like me much anymore - sooo, I am going to go back to my old fav - Bloody Mary's and I will be sure to bring them to the party!

SusansGarden-Your puppies are so cute. We have "temporary" custody of our grand-dog, Annie-she's the dog in my avatar. I tried to post a couple of pictures of her the other day on another thread but I couldn't. I say "temporary"-we've had her for 5 years while my daughter went off to college, and then moved to a place where she couldn't have dogs(of course). We love her to pieces(the dog-actually my daughter too!). Annie was sold as a pekingese/shih tzu but I have my doubts-she has short hair. No matter-she's still cute.

Drive safely-it's supposed to freeze tonight.

Susangarden, your dogs are soooo cute!

Coolbreeze, Don't feel bad, I also go from thread to thread adding my 0.02 cents here and there.  I do PM people that I think I have alot in common with, or I have more questions for them.  These PM's have turned into conversations about fears, treatments, triumphs and friendship...albiet, an internet friendship.  Other PM's end after one attempt to reach out.  I am just happy that I can come here and talk about things that I would normally remain silent about - especially around people who have never had cancer.  You can PM me anytime you want!

Cool Breeze - there is currently a fun pet discussion on Blue's "I say yes, you say no...." thread.

Also, If you REALLY want some great friends.  Check out the TA TA SISTERHOOD.  We have a great group of gals that go to Las Vegas for a weekend, this is our 3rd year.  We have all formed a special bond here.  Newcomers are always welcome.

Hi Cool breeze - you can count me as one of your 'quiet' stalkers.  I even have you saved to my favorites because we have a similar dx and both started this journey around the same time.  I watch about 69 different threads but only actually participate in maybe three or four and even then I don't post often.  I have made a few friends and it always tickles me when they do a little shout out for me but for the most part I identify with your post.  I am more then happy to be counted as your friend Laughing

Coolbreeze - I am so glad you started this topic. I feel the same as you. I'm not much of a conversationalist but I would like to connect with someone. It seems that there are many women that feel the same way given all these responses. Thank you!

SusansGarden - your dogs are adorable!
