Anybody wanna be my friend?
I've been here since August 09 and have, what? A thousand something posts? (I can't see it from here.) But I don't feel like anybody knows who I am and I have no personal connection with anybody. Nobody stalks me or goes out of their way to report my posts and my PM box is languishing empty of threats. On the other side of the coin, noboody tells me how cute I am or how smart I am or how funny I am, and my PM languishes empty of compliments.
I haven't landed in any one thread to make my forum home: no treatment thread that turned into a friendship thread, no hormone thread, no "lets watch our kittens play together" thread. My cancer fit so many spots on this forum that I never put down roots anywhere.
At times, I confess, I almost wished that I was Stage IV because those girls really get along, and then I'd know exactly where I belonged, but of course, wanting friends doesn't mean you should want a deadly disase too, so I view them from afar - my make-believe friends. The kind you admire but don't really want to emulate.
I settled in the Stage III forum - they really have the best threads there - until somebody told me I didn't belong in their either, merely being stage II (even though my treatment was longer and more intensive than hers and my prognosis the same). III trumps II every day, damn that little line.
I have sometimes found companionship during scanxiety times in the "waiting for test results" thread but <knock wood> they are few and far between. And, a bunch of people freaked out waiting to hear they might have a recurrence doesn't make for good bonding times.
With nowhere else to go, even a year and a half past diagnosis, I spent a lot of time in the Newly Diagnosed or Not Diagnosed but Worried threads, but there are only so many times one person can say "80 percent of biopsies come out benign" and "This is the worst part, once you get a treatment plan in place, you'll feel better" before you start to sound like a bot.
I can't go into the TV threads because I have a DVR and don't watch things when other people do - don't wants spoilers.
Oh, I confess, some of this is my fault. I don't pay much attention - don't look you in the eyes, as it were. I have no idea who the mean girls of this forum are and who are the nice girls. I couldn't spot a person with multiple accounts if my life depended on it. I see apology threads and people talking about apology threads and I am ignorant. I see the aftermath of blowups but haven't been around for the fight. I have not given the forum the attention it deserves. Another confession - all along I I figured, heck, I'd be cured and I won't be here that long, why bother?
Well, still not healthy after all this time. Maybe it'll take longer than I thought.
So, do you know me? Do you want to? Want to be my online boobie buddy? You bring the hop, I'll bring the scotch.

Hi CoolBreeze!!!
There's a few threads that I stick with and we just have fun. You're MORE than welcome to join us on any of these.
1. The Housekeeping Thread (we really don't like doing housework, so we see just EXACTLY how LITTLE we can do). We have a good time keeping up with each other. We call it our "bunny hutch" because the term dustbunnies does come up sometimes
2. The Awwwhhhh now that's Cute thread is just lots of posts about the cute, sweet, adorable pictures of just about any kind of animal and even some cute pics of baby........you know, just something that makes you go "awwwhhh, now that's cute". You're welcome to come check us out. There are some REALLY sweet cuties on that thread.
3. Then there's the Life's a Beach thread.....a gazillion posts are on the beach thread of beautiful pictures of breathtaking beaches, islands, sunrises, sunsets, sand, cabana boys, food.......and on and on the list goes. You'll be awarded your own pair of virtual flip flops..........so....that's three that I can think of that I KNOW you would enjoy!! Give it some thought and come on over
((((CoolBreeze)))
-
Well, there's a thread I started that is a "Free for all". You are quite welcome to join us. Most of us are tree huggers though!
-
I am going to check out that beach thread. I love the beach! I am always in search of the perfect one.
CoolBreeze - I am kind of the same way. I have a few threads I stick to and get along just fine, but seem sort of invisible here. It is interesting because in real life I am quite the opposite - always the pretty, popular fun one that everyone loves. Oh well . . . I guess I am one of those that is better in person than on paper, so to speak.
-
Hi Ann,
I haven't made any "bonds" here either. I'll be your friend
I didn't know about this place during treatment. I used to hang out in threads more relevant to my bc until I discovered the "Active Topics" tab. That where I spend most of my time now. Threads move down pretty fast there but try to find threads where I can encourage or help where I can. Yes, I live in my computer. NJ
-
We would love for you to come over to the Thinking Out Loud thread!! Please do! We are also friends on FB. Are you on FB? Please come and visit us!
-
Well, I can vouch for the thread Makraz is talking about----Thinking out Loud!
I lurk and read and most of the time. Those girls really know how to have a good time.
They're a hoot!!!!
You might have to learn some of their codes though.........LOLOL
See......looks like you're gonna be adding some new friends to your list real soon. Or you could even keep this one going. I'm sure alot more will drop in and stay
-
Don't give away our secrets Coonie! LOL!! The housekeeping thread is fun too! Lots of great ladies there!
Mrsnj, join us too!!
-
I'll be your friend too! 'Cept I'm bringing cold Dos XX and limes!!
Tori -
coolbreeze, I haven't seen to much complaining about people posting on the wrong thread here but maybe I haven't gone to the proper thread.
Any way I'd love to be your friend here, we all need someone that we can confine in, or share some good news with To me.stages don't matter that much, I try to give information, help or just a listening ear to the people that post here.
-
We do have a good time and we welcome nu people, but be careful they talk about food all the time, the healthy kind, I tend to talk Dairy Queen and Chinese food!!!
-
Are you feeling the love??♥♥
-
I would love to be your friend...I have not posted to much...just usually read...

So just wanted to drop in an say 'HI" We were diagnosed very close to the same date....

-
Hi Anne-
I'm usually a thread killer. I think I am the last poster on at least one of your threads.......I just figured you're not on here that much. I'll be your friend if you don't mind being friends with a thread killer.

Coolbreeeze - I remember you posting over on Stage III, but then you disappeared and I didn't know what happened. I've run across some of your posts here and there - sorry you felt left out......... hug and make up?
-
I'm new. I'd love a friend! :O)
-
Now, this is more like it!
I've tried to join some of those longer threads but it's a bit hard to pick up in the middle. It's kind of like when you are at a party and go up to the biggest, most fun looking group there. They are all laughing and you edge your way up, wait until there is a break, and then say Hi and introduce yourself. Everybody is really nice and introduces themselves and welcomes you, but then go back to talking about whatever it is they were before you got there and you are left just waiting for a way to join in. And, you can't because, you know, you kind of missed the backstory about Katelyn's divorce and Marilyn's gay son. Eventually, your eyes kind of drift around to the bar. At least you know the bartender will talk to you - all you have to do is give him a couple of bucks.
My nature is to stay as far away from anything labeled "housekeeping" as I possibly can.
Mary! You didn't kill this thread!
-
coolbreeze...ready to hang out with ya. I must confess when I read the "scotch" part I was about to reply, "what about a mojito?" then I read the "hop" part...ooops, my bad
-
Cool - I'll be your cyber friend - I'll bring the margaritas & chips!! I know what you mean about some of these threads - they move like wildfire and it's hard to keep up :>
-
Yay! I didn't kill the thread! I know what you mean about trying to walk up and join the "cool girls"-sometimes I make a comment on a thread, and no one even acknowledges it.
Letlet-I could go for a mojito!
Mary
-
Now we're getting Margaritas - I'm sticking around this thread..........
-
I'm cool enough, though, that I have gotten myself deleted a couple of times.

I would hate to think that I cannot participate in any forum I choose. What is there the forum Police. That's what comes from trying to have some kind of order. I reread some of your posts. You are a lot like me in that you don't ask for a lot of help. I hope that means you have done well, no recurrence, no side effects, no problems. Hugs. Have you tried the chat room. I really enjoyed instant messaging but then had a recurrence and wanted to be less visible. Stupid eh.
-
Hey Coolbreeze come and see our THINKING OUT LOUD Thread.
-
Coolbreeze- Now that is some of the best writing ever!
I would love to be your stalker LOL!
Sometimes i feel the same way, i have been done with tx for about the same time as you, and feel left out somtimes, and when i dont get a post back my feelings get hurt, im sure its just me because its not like they dont know i havnt bathed yet HA!
I have made a couple good friends here but have yet to meet, one of them she and i have become close and talk on the phone when we can, we have arranged to meet each other but it never works out, we call each other bcff ( best chemo friends forever)- but with out her i would of felt completely ignored on this forum, so i know how you feel, i think this thread is a great idea!
-
Coolbreeze~ I can hang out with ya
I am another boring one...
However today I have been snarky today..
-
Hi Coolbreeze come on over to the drinking thread you would be more than welcome. Some of us have a drink for real and others only virtually but it doesn't matter because we all have a whole lot of fun and laughter and support and caring when needed. Our lounge is call the Hot Tatties Lounge and it's a marvelous place to hang out. Lots of girls there and we do welcome anyone who popps in.
-
I guess I have my work cut out for me tomorrow - testing all these new threads.
Which one first? Drinking or Housekeeping? Or, Thinking Out Loud? I think that one would have to come after Drinking, and certainly Housekeeping would have to come before Drinking or I'll never get anything done!
Well, my new breastest friends, my family wants me to go watch TV with them. I will check in tomorrow. Thank you for talking to me. I no longer feel like the last kid picked on the playground.
-
Good for you! I guess we'll see you arounf the HTL soon then? YAY!!!!!
-
CoolBreeze,
I had been poking around and trying to understand this place for quite awhile before dipping my "toe" in so I feel the same way. In fact, I feel like I learned sooo much just by reading your post and the comments that followed. I have to say, this place just amazes me more and more with the kindness and caring and humor of all these women. Of course, I will be your friend... although it now looks like you have many!
-
How about we start a "I thought I was done with treatment till my darn shoulder froze." thread.
