The women on these boards are so caring and wonderful.  I know that you do not just post words, but heartfelt concern.  Thank you!

Meece good luck on the job and sorry about your mom not feeling well.  I know how it is with aging parents I have my inlaws and my parents that are going through similar things as well.  I can sympathize with you.

It is scary to see them age like this.  Dad went to get groceries, and hardly got anything.  Some of the stuff they needed.  Made me worry that if he were alone, would he be able to get the nourishment he needed?  He's not feeble in any way, it is just the small things I see right now.

Hi ladies - sorry I have been AWOL - have just been too tired to keep up with BCO for the last few weeks and I have had an intense couple of weeks getting DDs ready to go back to uni, taking them back in a 700 mile round trip last weekend as well keeping up with work, household and tennis twice a week at the moment. Am now an empty nester Cry so will hopefully have more time to keep up with everyone here.

Thank you all so much for your concern for we Kiwi girls in the wake of the earthquake. My family is fine and we do not have any family down there but we heard from some friends finally tonight that they are ok.  I have experienced quite a lot of unexpected emotional fallout following the earthquake with one thing and another - NZ only has 4.3 million people and everyone knows someone or knows someone who knows someone and so most people have been affected in some way. The destruction of many of the historic buildings that were a feature of beautiful Christchurch city is heart breaking but the large loss of life is what has really knocked me about - so hard to get your head around it - you ladies would understand that feeling after 9/11.  My heart has been gladdened though by the teams of search and rescue people that have come from around the world to help and the out pouring of sympathy and good wishes from all over the world.

Sorry to hear the snow is still falling for some of you ladies but glad to hear some are having a warmer time.  Weather remains fine, hot and humid here - temps  75 - 80 range and some days hotter.  Still sleeping with a fan on at night but getting some condensation on the ground some mornings now.

Bed time - has been a long few weeks.  Take care

rae--I'm glad your friends and family are OK.  It's hard to have a landmark destroyed.  They can't be replaced, that's for sure.

Got another winter storm watch in effect for tomorrow.  Another 6 to 12 inches predicted.  At least I'll get a chance to try out the snoeshoes this weekend!

Meece ... so sorry about your Mom.  I hope she's feeling better soon.  It is sad to see the aging process - especially mine.  To see people who were once active now slow down - its sad.

Raeinnz ... really glad you and your family and friends are okay.  It saddens me that so many people were killed and injured.  I pray for those families as do so many others.  The world has gotten to be a small place where we are all neighbors.

NM ... I am officially crossing Maine off my list of places to live!  Stay warm.

I'll head to Maine in the Summertime...maybe.  You wouldn't find me purposely heading to the frozen tundra.

Glad to hear you and your family are okay, Rae.

40 degrees here right now. The weather guesser changed the forecast again today. Now the snow level will be at 1,500 ft., although a trace may see it's way to the valley floor.

Rae, so glad to hear from you.  The people of NZ have been in my prayers, especially you!

Meece, you're only 10 degrees warmer than we are - that's just WRONG!  We got another 3 inches overnight and expecting anywhere from 2 to 6 inches tonight.  This snow has got to go.  NM, hope you get enough snow to check out your snow shoes, but no more than that!!!

It is 43 degrees this morning and we are getting some much needed rain, not a lot but expecting more tomorrow. Upper temps up to 60.

my dh got a pre-plan dispatch to pick up at 1 am in west columbia, SC and head to Clarksville TN. the dispatcher said he would try and get someone to relay it sometime tomorrow for him so he can get home Sat. If he can't get a relay, he won't be home til Sunday. This would make his 3rd week without being home on the weekend.

Rae-so glad to hear from you!

Well DD is spittin' mad.  The weather guessers said we'd have 4 inches of white stuff by the time school kids got up the AM which would close schools for the day (we don't get much snow!)  But the snow we have I think would equal 4 inches if you gathered it up from yard, car roof, and fence post in the valley!  In other words Hardly Any!

I think that given a bunch of models, I too could guess the weather with such pin point accuracy.

Rae, so glad to hear from you and so glad you and family are safe.  Shelia, hope you are feeling better for the weekend with the DH.

It is 69 degrees here and we've had to put the air conditioner on for the day as it is in the 80's.  Shorts and flip flops for nightly walks with the dogs.  We could use some rain.

28 degrees here with the sun shining.  Sorry you're getting more crap Karen.  We were very lucky and what you're getting now passed to the south of us last night.  The snowiest February we've ever had!

I'll live vicariously through you Mary.

We are in the mid 50s right now, but they are expecting the temps to drop and we might get that possible snow tonight.

Meece, did I hear the possibility of snow in Los Angeles?  I saw a reporter from Hollywood that had a winter coat on!

Yes, they expect traces of snow as far south as LA.  We are supposed to get rain and snow showers.

We have actually had small amounts of snow as late as April 1st, that I can remember.

Well ladies - 88 degrees and sunny outside.  Too bad I am stuck in an office all day without windows.  That along is my punishment.  Got the capris and sandals on.

It was 96 degrees yesterday - a bit too warm for this time of year.

Meece - I can't believe it - snow in Southern Calif?  That is unbelieveable.

Sherry - It was a bit too hot for this time of year. The temps were alright until the wind died down and started coming out of the north.

suzwes, I am sick of looking at it, it stopped for awhile but is supposed to start up again this evening.  We do have a 50 degree in the long range forecast, but those are teaser days, just give us a taste and follow it with temps dropping and more of the white stuff.  Florida sounds heavenly.  Karen  p.s. - Im glad you missed it.

WNY, now blowing and yes, more snow.  Karen, thinking you have more snow than us, we have about 8 inches.  I feel we fared better than my brother in law who was in South west Kentucky and they got slammed with the tornadoes, floods, and storms that blew through there last night.  This weather reminds me of that movie, Day after Tomorrow, very weird, I'm ready for spring,  soon.

It is 69 degrees @ 9:00 pm.  Got in the 80's again today.  We have gotten in the 80's everyday.  Supposed to be just beautiful this weekend.  My little step-grandson is on a t-ball team and had his first game last week.  He plays again tomorrow and we will be there.  Suzette, your summers are so much more beautiful than ours, and it is coming, hopefully sooner than later.
