Baby it's cold outside

been in the high 60's here today. since i came home from work, i've been going outside and standing on my porch...breathing...and then coming back inside. an hour later, doing the same thing
that's about the only good thing about northeast - getting that spring season to remind you that cold does end, and then getting fall to remind you that extreme heat does end. it's the summer/winter part that sucks big time
-
Weather is going to be perfect tomorrow - around 80 degrees. Going wit hubby and another couple and play a round of golf. I have missed playing. Either too cold or I was too sick. It is going to be a great outing.
-
Jo, have fun out on the course. I haven't played in a long while, but need to get back to is. Marlegal, I loved the way you said you went outside on the porch and just breathed. I did that this evening too after work, unfortunately the tree pollen is so high right now, my head hurts almost constantly.
We went out almost at dark and pulled weeds in the butterfly garden. Tomorrow with the sheers, I will cut everthing back and start over. 61 degrees @ 10:30 pm.
-
Well the winds came in cold all afternoon, and we froze our tushies off, but the rain held off until 30 minutes before we could leave. We just found shelter and waited it out. I hope it doesn't rain too much over night.
-
This morning sat on my front porch and had my coffee. It was so nice. This evening having dinner on the back patio. i love this weather, it makes me feel more alive.
-
Today I sat in my LR hoping my windows dont blow up from the wind.
The windows are shaking.
-
Must be windy everywhere. We had some bad winds today. Struggled with the golf game playing in the wind. Temperature was 82 though and that was great.
-
Temp in MA right now is 17 degrees, gotta love New England. BRRRRRRRR
-
Thursday and Friday it was in the 50's. The Groundhog better be right.
-
16.4 and dropping. The wind is 10-15 and rising. Gonna be a cold, cold night.
-
Had such a great day. it was 80 degrees today. We got shrubs and some trees pruned a bit and raked up many bags of leaves. Got my butterfly garden pruned out and weeded the beds. We finally have had to get rid of the bouganvilla, it just takes too long to recover after the cold. Then off to a t-ball game of my little step-grandson and out to dinner. It has been a great day.
It is 62 degrees and I'm watering the lawn.
-
Mary, send some of that warmth up here, LOL.
-
Today was a beautiful day, clear skies, temps close to 70. Tonight lows in the lower 40's. Beautiful full moon overhead. By tuesday temps more in the normal range of lows in the 30's highs in the mid 50's but no chance of rain. We are in a high fire danger risk due to the dry conditions. There have been a few 'wild' fires in the mtn areas.

It was another warm day but with blustery winds. I, too, go out on othe front porch and on the rear deck just to feel the sun and the breezes. Can't wait until things start to bloom.
I used to weed when I had a decent back and could get on all fours. I found it oddly therapeutic. I would come home from work frustrated and start yanking weeds out of the yard. Pretty soon I was relaxed and determined to rid the garden of weeds. It is instant gratification. You put in a little work and suddenly the garden looks so much better.

Just saw a weather report...a foot or more os snow tomorrow into Monday. This is getting ridiculous. I've really had enough of winter. I feel like I am cold all the time...maybe that's a weird side effect of Arimidex.

Deb the warmth of yesterday was blown out by the 40-50 mph winds we had today! I was out doing errands and literally scared when I had to stop at an intersection 'cause I'd see trees and poles bending, and the overhead traffic light poles swinging like mad - not a fun feeling! And where last night I kept going out to the porch to enjoy the warm air, tonight I went to the door just a few minutes ago called to hub "Man, it's still blowing so much it almost looks like snow" Then I stopped and really took a look - yup - it IS snow!!! Just the dusty kind that isn't doing anything, but cripes - 65 or so yesterday and 30's today with snow. Yup, gotta love the northeast!!
-
kmc, where do you live? I did a little garden out front a couple years and I know what you mean about coming home from work and getting out your frustration in the garden. The last couple years I just didn't seem to find the time to plant - I just bought a bunch of potted plants and put them around!
-
Well this morning was beautiful and I didn't need a jacket until about 1 pm. The skies were clear and very blue. Then the wind started again (not as bad as yesterday) and it got so cold. The rain started again about 30 minutes before time to leave, but hard enough to make it miserable. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear and cold, so I am dressing much warmer.
Can't wait to be home in the sun and working in the yard Monday.
-
geewhiz-feels like it could snow! Yuck!
-
Marlegal ... I live in Ashburn, VA. We have the same stupid weather that Philly does.
Right now it is 31 degrees going up to 50 and then back to 39. Tomorrow it is going up to 68 with a low of 27. And, Finally on Tuesday it will be 37 with a low of 21 and SNOW! They are predicting an inch of snow - last time the predicted one inch we got five inches - close enough!
-
Lvtoqlt-I've got 17.3 degrees and high winds. I'll trade you some wind for some warmer temp!
Kmccraw-I never thought about it that way, but weeding does give instant gratification, doesn't it?Catbill-I'm with you, enough snow already! I want to be playing in the garden, not wondering if it's still there under 2 feet of snow.
Deb-nuts isn't it? Going from running the heat to running the AC and back all in one day, over and over again, it's a wonder we're not all sick or crazy!
Meece-I'm jealous! Where are you?
-
Native, I forgot to mention the winds and low humidity that is fueling the fire warning.
-
Oh. never mind, then. I'll keep the wind, at least i don't have fire to worry about!
-
This is supposed to be the last day of winds. Haven't really bothered trying to keep the hair in place. Just looked at the forecast for the rest of the week - mid to upper 80s, and sunny. I am definitely digging out the shorts. Been wearing the sandals for a few days now. Hope you ladies that are getting cold and snow stay warm and that spring reaches you soon. Gotta love living in deep South Texas - this is winter - that's what I'm talking about.
-
I really hate the wind. Today was supposed to be clear, but cold. But when we woke this morning the skies are still gray. I think we are back in our normal weather pattern when they say we will get rain it will be in the hundredths, not tenths.
This is the last day of the home show and I plan on layersing up my clothes so I can stay warmer.
-
I hate the winds too. In the winter it chills you to the bone. But more importantly, my hair-do on a good day is precarious at best - it can't take wind!
I look forward to tomorrow when it is supposed to be 68 degrees. I'll let you know if the weather guessers were right.
-
It reached 80 again today. We went over to our son's home (who is expecting the baby) and helped them with yard work. Got some sun which I hope will help my vitiamin D level. Sending warm thoughts to you ladies up north.
-
We have about 6 inches or so of snow. Thankfully the other snow melted this last week. I was so fortunate to be in DC all week and the weather was wonderful! 77 degrees on Friday (my free day) so I got a little break. Enjoy the warmth my fellow southern and western sisters! Meece, I'm so glad Matt is on the mend and hope the next few months prove uneventful for him. Congrats to all the new Grandmas and soon to be born Grandbabies!
-
Supposed to 68 degrees today! There is just a smidgeon of snow left and these temperatures should melt what's left until it snows tonight. We are only suppose to get an inch ... we'll see.
-
yesterday was windy here but it was it the mid 70's which was great. Today will suppose to get to 80 and sunny. Need to go shopping for shorts. I lost weight this winter and none of my shorts or capris fit any more. Good that I lost weight, bad that I have to spend money to replace perfectly good clothes.
