I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

I do like reading differing views, as long as they don't have those really snotty comments. Little boogers do creep up but we're all human. The really snotty comments end up being the whole of the post, the message is masked by the snarkiness. Or if someone can't explain their views if someone doesn't understand they get all defensive and insulting. I end just up reading blah, blah, Barry, blah, blah, Sotero, blah, blah, blah...
And, I do not think Shirley is one of the deleters. She doesn't hide behind a delete button, she comes out swinging. That, I can respect, even if I may disagree with the points made.
Edit to add: GO CANADA!

If ignorance were bliss, they would be having more fun than they are, and wouldn't be worried about what goes on here.
-
I'm starting to think that I need to be under the witness protection program. WR probably should join me.
-
Don't worry, SeaFoobs we'll never tell! You can hide over here. They can't break us!
-
I also don't think that Shirley is one of the deleters but she could be a little less rude in her posts - I don't read them anymore because life's too short to be yelled at constantly.
-
SeaFoobs ... you are just being poked with a stick to create drama or scare you off. Giggle, roll your eyes and walk away.
However, in view of your concern I have uploaded a new avatar to conceal my identity. It's cute in a somewhat disturbing way I think
IJBCA ... yeah for your friends winning the Grammy!
Hoping we can get back to talking about fun stuff tomorrow ... even though I probably am at my limit and will have to just read.
Happy Valentine's Day everybody!

Please let's not give these deleters any more power by repeating what may or may not be said elsewhere. If we fall into that trap, we will be giving them permanent custody of this conversation. Happy V's Day, sisters!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

Happy Valentines Day!
I think what they say about 'idle hands' may also be true for 'idle minds.' Let's just ignore them now.

Just beginning to read about the budget cuts coming down the pike as we try tog et this horrific defict under control. I have to admit that what I've seen so far does not endear me to my president. Too much like his predecessor!! Once again, the poor are getting slammed. Where are the defense spending cuts? I'll get my ducks in a row as I understand this issue better...Off to read the rags.
-
This is just a very quick check-in to say . . . I'm back!! Many thanks to Melissa, and many thanks to those who PM'd me. I'm so glad the tone has shifted back to fond and funny and free-wheeling, which is what I think Blue had in mind when she started this thread.
Happy Valentine's Day to the entire "Strange" gang.

Obama asks for painful budget cuts.
WASHINGTON (CNNMoney) -- President Obama on Monday will unveil a $3.7 trillion budget request for 2012 that proposes painful cuts in many government programs but fails to address the largest drivers of the country's long-term debt: Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
The budget takes a big bite out of domestic spending and would slash deficits by $1.1 trillion over the next decade, according to White House estimates.

Missed you Linda! Check this out. I found it interesting but we'll have the real deal at 10:30AM EST.

lewing,
Welcome back, we really missed you and as BinVA says, we have this board temporarily under control so it's safe to come back into the water.
Happy Valentine's Day.
-
Welcome back Linda. All's well that ends well!
-
I was reading some stuff around the new budget and saw this article about health care waivers. Very interesting that the waivers went from 5 in October to 733.
-
Yay Linda!

Welcome Back Lewing
Now you can advocate once again for "truth, justice and the American Way." We need all the help we can get. It looks like once again our government will try to balance the budget on the backs of the poor.
What about cutting defense spending? What about raising the earnings cap on Social Security? What about extending the Estate Tax to those whose unearned fotunues are slightly smaller? Apparently we can not do anything that would upset the rich. But the poor we can kick around like trash on the street. That is not my idea of fun.
-
Linda, I'm glad to see you're back!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
-
Lewing - glad you're back.

It's Hearts and Flowers Day -- hoping everyone is getting some (flowers, that is, OR chocolate!)
Do you remember any special Valentine's Day card from your youth? I remember one that I got from a boy when we were in Grade 6. We competed with each other (he was best in math, I was best in spelling and reading) and he certainly never gave me any indication that he thought I was cute, or nice, or anything other than a competitor. And then he gave me this incredibly mushy valentine card -- much more suitable for teenagers! Wow! I was surprised! And that was it. We never dated or became anything other than friends!
