after weeks of 30's and below, we're getting some days in the 40s, maybe 50 on monday ... I want to feel a little of that warmth to remind me that there will be a spring!!!  no snow for more than a week though, so that alone is cause for celebrating!

After the coldest weather I have seen in over 11 years in deep South Texas - we are going to have a couple of days in the low 80s this week - YEAH!  May have to break out the shorts.

Sherry - I am with you.  Went to the outlet mall yesterday and had to shed my jacket. It was so nice to do that.  Later this week, we are expecting highs in the low 80s.  May have to break out the capris and sandals.  Hopefully spring is around the corner.

Enjoyed the botanical gardens yesterday, but it was too cold to sit outside on the intercoastal waterway to eat lunch.  We sat inside instead.  Today it will reach 65 and we will be in the mid 70's next week.  I plan to work on my butterfly garden next week, the cold really got to it.  My grandbaby may be born as early as Tuesday this week.  Life is so very good.

we were supposed to crack 50 today but didn't quite make it - still so much snow around that even in high 40's, it's damp air that blows. whacky temps coming up this week - 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's all in one week! weatherman said that's often a sign spring is pushing in - pleeeeease!!!!! talk of sandals has me hopeful - i love wearing capris and sandals to work instead of snow boots and wool pants and socks and heavy coat and ear muffs ... remind me of this during the summer when I bitch about the sweltering heat!!!

Sherry - Love the thought of going shopping for smaller clothes.  I went to the outlet mall today and bought some smaller jeans - got tired of having to keep pulling up the other ones or wearing a belt.  When I lost all my weight, I went from a size 12 (which fit real tight) to a size 4.

I'm at my conference in DC and it is a heck of a lot warmer than what I left in Michigan.  I almost took my spring jacket off at lunch!  Glad I only packed my spring jacket and not my winter gear.  Supposed to be in the mid 60s at the end of the week.  I hope it stays that way because Friday is my free day before I go back home.  It would be nice to do my quick tour of DC in nice weather.

I hate to even mention this, but I am going to anyway.  For the next 7 days, we are going to be in the low 80s.  That is why I live in deep South Texas.

Suzette, so glad you are enjoying your time in DC and its warmth.  Jo, I agree with you.  We moved to central Florida and love the warm weather.  It is supposed to be up to 78 degrees before the week is over.  I love that temp--not too hot and not too cool.

mbticsw01 - With the unusually cold temps we were having here, I was beginning to think I would have to move further south - like some nice Carribean Island.

Enjoy your warmth Mary and Jo and Rae and Sherry.  I've said it before but I'll say it again.  If it weren't for deep love of my family (parents, kids and grandkids), I'd move to Florida, Texas or Arizona in a heartbeat!

Come visit me anytime, Suzette.  Jo, I hear ya.  The temps here for the last two years have been very unusual.  We all absolutely hate cold weather.

My DH has taken a new job, still with the VA, but as a national associate director for the Chaplain service.  The national office is in Hampton, Virginia and he keeps teasing me about moving.  Well, I'm willing to visit and maybe someday have a second home there, but I'm not leaving Florida.

Yesterday it was a balmy 59 degrees.  I can't see any snow from the back yard, just grass!  I don't know what the temperature is going to be today but as long as there is no snow in the forecast, I'm happy.

Wow, I was gone for 9 days, and you guys had a heat wave!  The weather forecast for our trip to paradise showed only two sunny days, the two which happened to be "hospital days".  It did rain a lot, but thankfully we did have more sunshine than expected as well.  We left the 70s and 80s yesterday and came home and cranked up the heater.

Our forecast here isn't a pretty one. Cold and wet this weekend.  Unfortunately we have outdoor plans for the weekend.  Brrrrrrrrrr.

Meece how is your son doing?

Jo I went from a tight 8 to size 2 or 4 depending.  I have a Dr's appt today and after that going to the outlet mall to see if I can find some capris or dress pants for work.  Have had a hard time finding dress pants as the 4 is too big and hard to find 2's and if I shop in the Jr dept I look like a teenager.

Sherry - I like the idea of going shopping for new stuff.  Believe it or not, sometimes I have a hard time finding size 4 in some things.  I certainly can't wear petite since I am 5'7".

Jo-yes petite is not for you. I sometimes can buy petite as I am 5'3" but I like to wear heals so it just depends.  DH just called and may be going with me today so that will take out my shopping spree if he goes.  He does not always go to Dr appt with me but this is the new MO so he wants to go and meet the guy which is fine with me. But darn on the shopping.

Sherry - Drop him off at the house after the appt.  That is what I would do even if it means going out of my way a bit.  I would much rather go without DH.  He is not a good shopper.

DH is not much of a shopper, but he always wants to go to my appointments.  That means no shopping when going to the "big city"!

Sherry, thank you for asking.  He is doing great.  Although there is still an increased danger for the next few months, I think he is experiencing a relief and a big dose of mama helped him this past week.  Nearly two years is way too long to go without seeing one of your babies!

    Good to be home.
