Well said Annettek - and Blue you are my hero. My son had shots put in his eyes while awake and that was scary so I can only imagine the horror of having your head drilled. We do all suffer atrocities don't we? And this forum is so helpful and I like that you challenge each other! I'm not knowledgeable enough to debate but have learned so much. I am a knee jerk liberal dem - not bragging, it is in my DNA and it's good for me to hear all perspectives. And I've been guilty of the bashing of she who shall remain nameless in Feb. It is just so hard not to, but I will try. And Blue - I love looking at Jimmy - woo hoo - sex on a stick.
-
SeaFoobs,
It seems your MT is better than my eye site (it's getting worse by the day). If you get really channeled in, I have a few questions about the stock market.
-
IJBCA -- When I think of KD, the 88 Olympics image is the one I think of. In fact, I think that's the one and only time I ever saw her wear a skirt! Cowgirl outfit -- white and red I think! She had everyone moving as much as Lionel Ritchie did at the end of the Los Angeles Olympics!
Annette -- You paint the most interesting pictures in your posts -- thanks!!
And I can vouch for Blue's Ray of Sunshine -- he is INDEED a good-looking guy, and you can tell so easily that he adores her. Ain't love grand!
-
konkat- love the meekrat allusion - my DH and I laugh because after multiple recon's one of my nipples kind of disappeared - it's way on the left side - and it makes me laugh too! We always say nipples are overrated!
-
Wow, I would love to actually be there at the Olympics. The pride these athletes have when they step up to the podium and hear their national anthems just melts my heart. It takes away all the bad stuff in the world, at least for a couple of weeks. Gives me hope.
-
Sex on a stick -- gotta remember that one! And all the yummy flavours it comes in!
-
OK Blue, when can me and BinVa sit down?
-
Love IS grand! Blue you kick ass! I've had the privilege of talking to Mr. Ray of Sunshine .. he is a keeper and sweet as can be! Speaking of guys .. Tim will be home soon and I'm so excited! I've even dressed up and put on makeup! Yay!

Rosemary it is cute that you think you can speak for other people.....a bit narcissistic but I do love that child like innocuous.........
So are you going to stand by me while many here allude to the fact that I am some kind of cartoon character.......regardless of what I may have on my byline?????.......for some reason I doubt it......
And I am not sure but I don't believe that you are bc.org police....that you have the authority to tell anyone what they are saying or what they write or what is on their byline.....
Rosemary you and many of your friends (whom you don't speak for either because otherwise why would they need to post?) have said many heartless and completely untrue statements concerning Conservative Politic Women here on this thread........do you have a right to say it....absolutely.........that is the point......
And yes Bren you have finally figured it out......for 5 years my plan all along has been to Stop Canada.........whatever that means.......shokk
-
Ellie .. I love that .. 'sex on a stick' and I'm going to use it on Tim when he gets home!

Guys, try and keep the thread from being deleted during the day. I've got to head out. I'm taking my 91 year old parents to the local Wal Mart. It's going to be an eventful evening. I'm not griping, I'm glad to have them here and after BC, glad to be here to do it. BEHAVE till I get back or at least be careful.

Shokk wrote: "Even when I first posted it Blue got it......it is from the South Park movie "Blame Canada"......you can see it on youtube.....they all wore tee shirts that read "stop Canada".......
Maybe you should spend some time away from your computer and get out in the real world....do some volunteer work in your beloved Canada.......just a thought.....shokk"
Something out of context from a movie, funny as it might have been in the movie, can be, and is, quite offensive the way you are using it. You have no idea how much time I do or do not spend on the computer or how I spend other parts of my day. Indeed, you have no idea the state of my health and what I am able to do with my days. In the "real world" we don't try to bait people from other countries for sport. Why do you suppose it is OK in computer world?
And now I will let this go as there seems to be no point in trying to be sensible about this.
-
Kadeeb, you and Bren can sit down anytime you like! I'm off the computer for a bit and reiterate what you just said!
-
Shokk - Please cite the "heartless and completely untrue statements concerning Conservative Politic Women here on this thread". I've looked and can't find any of those statements. Thanks
-
Well, this has been fun but I need to go. Okay Shokk, I won't speak for you . I do like that you think I'm innocuous. I do not recall saying anything untrue about Conservative women but if I have I hope you know that's not my intention. I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. We are going to have more snow. Oh joy.
I have Daffy for my avatar so I see nothing wrong with being a cartoon character.
-
Good Morning Blue
Waving to you
-
I'm so immature - even a reference to South Park and I laugh. Are we seriously getting worked up about something in such a moronic movie? God help me if I lose my sense of humor - then I really wouldn't want to live.....,
-
Thanks Floralgal -- as someone wrote -- one of the best duets ever!
-
To each his own, Ellie. One person's humor is offensive to another, and so on. Shokk's sig line isn't funny on its own, so why do you think she put it there?
-
I have to go, too, so please try to keep it down in here so the thread is here when I get back. Have a nice afternoon all.
-
You are right Enjoyful - I just expected her to be making more of a statement than using something from a lame movie reference. I think maybe the goal is to be offensive - but I was not trying to be - sorry, truly - Ellie

Someone very close to me was in an abusive relationship for many years (she finally left the bas***d). One of the ways that he abused her was by making "jokes" that demeaned her. Of course, when she got angry, he would then counter with "you have no sense of humour". He loved the power it gave him to insult, demean and hurt her. In fact, he would intentionally say "innocuous" things (I think that is the word of day), and love the reaction he got.
So, when anyone tells me that something that can be offensive or hurtful is a "joke", I also think of the bas***d who abused my friend and intentionally and purposefully said things to get a "rise" out of her.
Anyone who keeps making the same "joke" knowing that others find it offensive is just loving the reaction from those of us who find the "joke" offensive.
-
point taken - I again apologize and I know EXACTLY what you mean about things being said in humor that are meant to be hurtful - I needed to be reminded of that - mea culpa -
-
No problem, Ellie! Thank you. :-)
-
Ellie .. stop with the 'mea culpas'
I 'heart' you!!

Popped back in to welcome Erica to the cartoon crew. Does this mean you share our views on politics? Either way, good to know who's here.
-
ironically, that video won't show in Canada!
-
I loved that episode! They went off looking for a hospital that would be happy to take their money. I have always maintained that Saturday Night Live would have amounted to nothing if not for the Canadian talent that has made it so popular over the years. While there have been some great American actors on the show, it is the Canadians that have kept me coming back. However, Tina's portrayal of She Who Shall Not Be Named in February was one of the greatest pieces of comedy I have ever seen.
I have heard that Alec Baldwin has contemplated running for office at some point. I genuinely hope he does.
I was frustrated during the Olympics because the CBC live video would not stream to my computer.
