My friend just posted this picture on facebook. It's my new prayer although I'm also adding cold along with snow!
-
Thanks Suz
-
Sheila - You crack me up - thanks for the laugh.

ha ha on the emergency supply list on the bus, people in chicago would have liked to have the supplies last week during the blizzard.
My hubby calls me frequently for weather reports for the area he is going to. He called me yesterday about noon wanting weather conditions in Arkansas. He was heading from memphis to Denton TX. I looked it up on weather.com and told him that Arkansas was completely covered with snow. He was hoping to get to Little Rock but ended up stopping in Palestine AR 2 hours after my weather report because road conditions deteriorated quickly and he saw a wreck happen just in front of him.
Got up this morning expecting to see 3-5 inches of snow based on the weather report yesterday. ended up with only a slight dusting of snow on the ground and temp of 30.

it's a lovely 12 degrees out, but the sun is shining and it is not windy. Yesterday it was as cold plus wind, absolutely bitter. This weekend they are forecasting mid to upper 30's, yeah!!!! It sure would be great if this was winter's last hurrah.
-
Currently 29 in south texas
-
In deep South Texas it is currently 37 degrees but feels like 28
-
I can see the edges of my picnic table.
Snow is melting.
Its cold today something like 19.
-
We've gone from -4 (wind chill close to -20) and now we're at 11 degrees with a windchill of -1! Tomorrow we're supposed to start a little warming trend.
I feel so bad for you southern ladies! At least those of us in the north have heavy sweaters, winter gear, good central heat, and our county has the heavy duty equipment to deal with the snow and ice. We're prepared because we're used to this but if you never get this kind of weather you don't have the resources we have. You're in my thoughts and I'm praying the warmth comes back soon for you.
Sheila, I hope you hubby gets to his destination safely!
-
Suzette, thanks for asking about my hubby. He is still in the truck stop in Palestine. the roads are still not passable in AR, he isn't loaded very heavy and doesn't want to get on the road and get stuck. He has been there almost 24 hours and doesn't know when he will be able to get back on the road. It looks like he won't be getting home this weekend
.
The dusting of snow we had has already melted, the temps are in the upper 40's.
The church fellowship hall is now under reconstruction! Don't know yet when it will be finished, it will be a long wait I think. I am busy crocheting cotton hot pads to use in the new kitchen to replace the ones lost in the fire.

The prediction todays is 30 degrees - it is currently 33 degrees - but I'm not complaining!
By Sunday and Monday we are expecting 48 degrees. Hurray!!!!!!!!!
Suzette ... I'm with you. Its so hard when you cannot possibly be prepared for snow and ice. Most of the cold states are ready and willing to do battle with the elements except of course here where we get snow every winter and every winter the Dept of Transportation acts like its a big surprise. Although I must say they are getting better. At least they have the salt trucks and snow plows out early to start the cleanup process instead of waiting until all the precipitation has fallen and hope the sun comes out and melts it!
-
I thought I had moved far south enough to not have to get out the heavy winter clothes. We have another freeze warning out for tonight. Yikes! So glad when it warms up again. My toes will thank the warm weather - they ache so bad since starting tamoxifen.
-
HI Jo♥
-
Hi Sheila - I've missed you.
-
Good Night.
-
-
Donna - it seems very clear to me that Texas should not have ice! I thought the world was supposed to turn not turn upside down.
-
Woke up to 32 degrees this morning. This is supposed to be deep south Texas. Warm up starts this weekend.
-
Yesterday afternoon my hubby decided to try and go out on the road, it took him 10 hours to drive 105 miles in Arkansas. Today the temps are better and the snow/ice is melting in Arkansas and Texas. He will be staying in Texas this weekend.

Our nice afternoons(sunshine & about 55-60 degrees) are supposed to disappear by Sunday & then we are supposed to start getting cold stuff too-probably not snow- we get very little here on the valley floor-but cold temps & water falling from the sky!
-
75 here today with blues skies, the odd tuft of cloud and a gentle Easterly breeze. Very pleasant! Great day for getting the laundry dry.
-
Good govenor! What is going on with these temperatures!?
Ours, again, gave highs and lows with a record low right next to the forecast!
Stay warm - we are heading for a little 'warm' spell this weekend.
-
Currently 48 degrees and high of 63. We are going to the botanical gardens in St. Petersburg, FL today and possibly go have lunch at the beach after. Nippy.
-
Currently 48 degress with a high of 68 today. May venture out to the outlet mall today and do some shopping. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer - 75 degrees. Later this week, we will feel like we are going to have a heat wave - will be in the low 80s YEAH!
-
Okay jo...I'm coming down to Texas.
good morning All.
-
Sheila - Come on down!
-
My hubby is in Denton TX, temp is 40 with upper temp at 60. It is alot better than what he went through Wed and Thurs in Arkansas with temps in the teens and 2 ft of snow that kept him off the road for 30 hours.
Here in NC we have temp around 50 with highs in the upper 60's. We didn't get the heavy snow that was predicted on Thursday.
-
Ivtwoqit - Good news on not getting the heavy snow. I think we are all sick of winter and so looking forward to summer.
-
Well, I'm not sick of summer yet so you ladies will just have to suffer through winter a little longer
Today is exactly the same as yesterday and tomorrow is predicted to be a little warmer - nice!
