But unfortunately they use it for nefarious reasons.  As Bugs would say, what a bunch of ultramaroons.

Kadeeb....its a game for them.   They want to destroy the camaraderie we have created here.

Think I'll go watch some Zombie movies.  Have a few more laughs!

I looked back over several pages of posts but couldn't find what I was looking for. I thought about 5 or 6 pages back someone posted that they thought the deleting was beginning, but I didn't recognize the poster as a regular. Like I said, I took my meds and could easily be mistaken.

    Good evening everyone...........

I could be wrong but I don't think the Mods are at this point going to do anything about the deleting.....

Maybe it would be better if "Melissa" just had the delete button removed all together from the software....might be cheaper then trying to "fix" it in some way to keep people from misusing it....

it doesn't matter how much the Mods try to control and add additional control systems if someone is hell bent in causing trouble they are going to do it.....

As far as I can tell the "delete" button has caused more problems then it has solved......

Years ago a member that is still here put up a horrible post about another member on a Friday afternoon and it stayed up all weekend.......she was mad that this other member had not gone to a bc sister get together that had been organized.......accused her of not really being a bc sister.....anyway this is what prompted this whole delete button to begin with........that and the spammers that would hit on the weekends.....

But it is evident that we can't be trusted with the delete power......and this does happen in other threads as well it just happens here the most.......of course this is just MO.......shok

Night Blue, talk to you guys in the morning. BTW if it's a game to them, no wonder they end up on this thread. They probably don't have any friends to play with.

Deleting some of thiese posts is like getting a big flippin' middle finger in your face. ridiculous.

I've ridden a camel! On my first night in Turkey. Never trust a camel. Those gorgeous eyelashes will fool you into believing they like you, when all they really want to do is bite you or spit on you!

And a phrase I heard from an Egyptian today: We are like the camels; we carry the gold but eat the grass.

chanellover:  I agree with you but "we" can't find the people doing the deleting and "they" cause people to get banned.  Also having an "open" discussion cannot include calling people names or being angry at them as you were in the post which got deleted.  Frankly, I would like to see this thread be free to allow people to be happy, or angry as long as they stay away from calling each other filthy names or being especially nasty to them.  It's not always "giving an opinion" which gets us in trouble but "how" we give that opinion.  I don't know if my posts or left, right, or upside down because I am not into tagging people that way.  So I don't know if I can agree that only the "left" leaning posts are banned.  I know Melissa will delete a post quickly if we are cruel to each other so the word is "be nice".

    Chanellover,

Medigal is right. It's not always what is said but how it's said. I try to eliminate the word "You" from my posts (if the discussion is serious).  I have found that beginning a sentence with "I" is a much less offensive approach. We sometimes forget that it is much more difficult to hear the "tone" of one's voice when typing. Welcome to our discussions any time. We consider ourselves to be "big girls" most of the time, unless the discussion digresses to vegetables, and we( the ones you can see posting here) can take it.

    That's dessspicable!

On behalf of all citizens of the United States I would like to apologize to our Canadian neighbors for the rudeness of some members of this board.

Uhmmmm.......Rosemary I am not sure who you think you are but I don't think you have the "authority to "speak" for the citizens of the United States........

I would assume that the mass majority of the citizens of the United States don't even see my byline......much less "ALL the CITIZENS of the United States.....

and on my own behalf you certainly don't speak for me.......

Lassie I have no idea why my byline upsets you so much........even to the extent of sending me a personal message about it.....

Even when I first posted it Blue got it......it is from the South Park movie "Blame Canada"......you can see it on youtube.....they all wore tee shirts that read "stop Canada".......

Maybe you should spend some time away from your computer and get out in the real world....do some volunteer work in your beloved Canada.......just a thought.....shokk

(and I am going to assume you guys aren't going to delete this post because if you did that would make you hypocrites)

why delete when one can so easily ignore?

In answer to my earlier speculation, the atrocities continue thanks to the insistence of humans to divide the world into "us" versus "them" and all of the bashing on this thread is confirmation.  Its easy to kill someone you don't think of as a person. So the first step in world peace will be getting rid of the usversusthem syndrome.

Still, some conversations,  like the Aegean stables or the guy pushing the rock up the hill, are doomed to pointlessness bickering and snarking. So why bother?

Can't remember where the quote came from but its a good one:

"I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

I won't delete but I will ignore. So which of us is the "better" American?  the one who ignores the statements they disagree with or the one who deletes that which they do not approve of or agree with ?

    happy friday!

    Shokk

I am usually too bashful to speak for anybody else but my mother taught me that when someone is offended by a joke it is no longer a joke and deserves an apology.

Since all Muslims are grouped together as one in some posts here, even though there are at least as many kind of Muslims as Christians, I saw no reason not to group us all together as Americans. Aren't we all the same? Or maybe I'm stereotyping Americans here. I guess that's what made Shokk uncomfortable.

Sorry Shokk if I offended you.

    Now Go Canada!!!!!!!!!!!
