TN Ten Pounds Take-Off

Passing on a link I saw on another post that looked interesting:
-
NavyMom-if you and I don't do better, the weekly weigh-in list will be our wall of shame! I'm going to get dressed and walk the dog right now! ok, well, after I read the bitch and moan thread...
-
I think of the weekly weigh-in list as a.... motivator?
-
I went to loseit.com and started doing a food log. Wow. That is an eye-opener. I think I'll come out ahead today, if I ride my exercise bike after work. I went jeans shopping last week, and it wasn't pretty.
-
retrievermom- I have a pretty good idea of what my "sins" will cost me. I do it anyway. I just don't seem to have the discipline that I had a few years back.
-
retrievermom: Why I thought that loseit.com meant that this was a site for those who have totally lost it, I will never know--and I'm not talking pounds, lol!
heidi: I was thin my entire life up until the last few years--I am pretty clueless when it comes to losing weight which for me just means resisting temptations. sigh! I did just go for almost a 2 mile walk. I ate the last of my coconut ice cream last night.
-
I went jogging today..I think the temp was around 17...it felt good..even though I'm chubby I jog well....don't seem to lose any weight but it feels good..don't think I will go tomorrow..it's supposed to be really, really cold.
I like to test my body..do you guys know what I mean? I guess I think if I can jog 2 miles in 17 degree weather...maybe I'm OK..maybe???? I don't know..maybe I'm just psychotic.
-
titan: That's awsome and healthy in my book!
-
Titan-IMO "healthy" is a lifestyle, whether we lose weight or not. I feel healthy (except when getting bucked off a 1400 pound animal) and frankly, though I want to be 125 pounds, if I stay at 134 then I'm going to try not to beat myself up over it. I just won't look as good in some of my clothes as I did at 122-125. Plus, I really do tend to lose a few pounds after winter because I am *regularly* more active than days spent reading by a fire.
-
I've been walking faithfully on the treadmill this week. Did over 11,000 steps yesterday but only 9706 today so I guess it all evens out. Just saw a TV commercial for the M&M Prezels but my DH says they are definately not available in Canada (...since when did he become an expert. lol). I'll have to try them when I visit my mom next as she lives on the Michigan border. I wonder if they come in dark chocolate? Okay, enough about the M&Ms...maybe I'll snack on a piece of broccoli.
-
Nope, those are banned in Canada! lol. I'll bring a pack to DC with me in April
To all of you exercising - AWESOME !!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! YOU WILL SEE RESULTS!!
Backed off the bread and things are looking better on the scales. What day are we 'weighing in'?
-
I'm weighing in on Mondays - just th day it happened for me.
-
Monday is the "official" weigh-in, but I just update as I read the posts in here, as not eveyone "reports".
I am a very good girl and swimming laps almost every evening. I am really enjoying it and hope it translates to a few less pounds in time. Of course, I won't be able to for awhile after Tuesday's surgery but that shouldn't keep me out of the pool for too long; maybe a week.
-
I'll have to admit, my exercising hasn't been much. I find it hard to get motivated when it's cold, but I have been more active indoors, on the weekends and taking the stairs as often as possible throughout the day during work (I work in a large bldg and have to go up and down often). Once the weather warms up I'm sure I will find the motivation when I get home from work. I have been incorporating a lot more vegetables into my diet and really working hard at staying away from the sweets. Sadly.......the weight is not coming off as easy as it used to. Ugh!!!
Tonight for dinner we had grilled chicken and roasted vegetables - I chopped up in large chunks a zucchini, yellow squash, then in smaller pieces 4 carrots, I mixed them together with 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil and Ms. Dash garlic and herb seasoning, put them in the oven (in a glass dish) on 375 for about 30 minutes (until tender and some tips turned slightly brown), mixing once during the cooking process - they were so good and served three people, probably would have served 4. Low fat and no salt - yummy. I've also used this particular Ms. Dash on fish - it's a wonderful mix of flavors. Thought I'd share.....
-
Thanks for sharing Jenn. We LOVE roasting veggies - even my normally no-veg son will eat roasted ones.
-
Roasted vegis are so easy and tasty-Yum!!! I have been good--no deserts this week--no sugar. I guess I will know if it's done any good by Monday.
-
Ooookay. Back to 150 this week. Grrrr. But of course... I have my period. Totally blaming that. AND still searching for a gym to join.
-
Erica: How are you doing?
-
Hey guys - Do you mind if I join this thread? With rad ending next week, I am gearing up for getting committed to daily exercise, which I have been avoided during rads due to concerns about sweating and my sensitive, radiated skin. I am also going to be more committed to diet, which I have been off and on with since diagnosis. I want to lose 50 pounds. Maybe having to report to you all will keep me motivated!
-
Plan on detoxing and working out this weekend. I'll definitely post my weight on Monday. Everyone have a great weekend!!
On the weekends I am not online that's my time to recoup, relax, recharge, work-out and enjoy my family. I started this rule after my dx.
-
Fighter..I have a feeling you will do just fine! Remember though..to maybe take it a little easy..give yourself some time..it takes awhile to get back to feeling normal...BUT you will...my friends wanted to take me out drinking the night of my last chemo...I was willing but my DH said..uh..don't you think you may want to wait awhile..I waited a week..!
Those chemo drugs are going to be inside you for awhile..and you want them there..to do their job...
Mentally though...it was so sweet to not have to go have chemo...I remember actually being thrilled I was at work on Wednesdays instead of chemo...
-
I was really good all day but I took my DD and her friend to the see the Justin Bieber movie tonight and we ate popcorn and some candy at the show. Tomorrow is another day....to be good!
-
Sugar: Popcorn is "diet" food and you can't have one without the other, lol
-
Sugar- I was going to scold you on the popcorn AND candy, but Mary is letting you off the hook regarding the popcorn....but save those calories for DC!! BTW was the movie good?
Hugs
-
Thanks for letting me off the hook...lol I passed on the butter, too, so it really was diet food. The movie was really good. It was much better than I was expecting. Justin is from a very small town about 1.5 hours from us. My very good friend lives in the same town and her daughter used to babysit him. Very small world! We're secretly working on getting an official autograph for her.
-
Sugar - good luck on getting the autograph, I know you're daughter will love it. How did she do with the new braces?
Well........I am proud to say that we've had at least one king cake every other day in our office, in every department including ours. I have not eaten any!! I really wish I could lose weight for not eating any king cake, but that doesn't seem to be happening. This weekend is looking good weather wise, I'm hoping to get out and do some extra exercising.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and the weather is getting better for you.
-
Jenn: You have such great willpower! I have been turning down all offers of sweets and I am amazed by how many there are on a daily basis!
Sugar: That is so cool! I hope you get your autograph!
-
I trailered all the way to the beach for another ride and then decided not to, as the wind was gusting to 30 mph and my new philosophy is "if I'm not going to have fun then I'm not going to do it".
Had to console myself with a Rumrunner and crab dip on the way home... I did walk the pups along the river though (for about 5 minutes).
And I still shovel sh*t everyday...
-
omg im eating 4 cookies
stop me
-
claire STOP! There, that oughta do it.
