Sherry - I hate the cold too.  The Tamox has given me pain in my toe joints and the cold is making is worse.  Sometimes it is really hard to walk and can keep me awake at night.  My onc told me to keep a good supply of Aleve on hand.  It does some good but now with the close to freezing temps - Yikes!  Sure will be glad when it warms up again.

    Stay safe and warm everyone.

I did the foot soak last night and it worked.  Jo I cannot take Aleve as I am allergic to it.  Ibuprofen and Naproxen do not like me.  I hate it because they are like wonder drugs. For some reason I can take Asprin which alot of people that are allergic to ibuprofen are also allergic to asprin.  So asprin and tylenol are my only things I can take.

Yikes!  Just saw some snowflakes - in deep south Texas - really?  That is not supposed to happen here.  Below freezing temps until tomorrow.   Hate this.

Temperature is 33 at 6:00 am rain/freezing rain on the way for today and a high temp today about 40 so not much of a warm up today and icing through tomorrow Cry. We were spoiled last weekend with temps in the 60's and beautiful sunshine.

to quote Native Mariner 'ENOUGH ALREADY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though Queen Charlotte didn't see her shadow on Tuesday, winter will still last 6 weeks!

What a good sign, NM!  So good for our attitudes when the sun is shining.

Had snow on the ground here in South Texas got about 3/4 of an inch.  Not enough for the kids to play in but it is pretty.  Temp is currently 25 degrees and everything is shut down becaue of ice etc.  It is funny watching the San Antonio news and they show the highways and they are empty.  It is suppose to warm up this afternoon and it should be safe to drive around then.

I saw on CNN that DFW Airport is canceling hundreds of flights.  I cannot imagine how you guys cope with ice and snow, it's just not the kind of weather I think of happening there!

I'll bet my flight to Hawaii Sunday will be full of people escaping the cold in the East.

I have some Sonata, but the flight is only about 6 hours.  Trying to pack today so I can take stuff like a neck pillow and other essentials.

Meece when I went to Hawaii we had an 8 hour flight to Dallas then changed planes to Austin to come home.  We left in the evening and got into Austin at 7 am.  Took a sleeping pill on the plane and had a crying misbehaving 5 year old sitting 2 rows behind me and keep the plane disrupted the whole entire time and I could not even sleep with sleeping pill, ear plugs and eye mask.  Took a little nap in the airport in Dallas, slept all day once we got home.

    Have fun!!!!!

One trip to Hawaii we had a mother with a screaming one year old the whole way there.  She stood up and walked down the aisle the whole time in between the seats and the movie screens.  Totally frustrating, but imagine our horror to see her board our return flight, too!!!  We always have the kicking toddlers sit behind us.

My flights to HongKong were always like that jam packed and lots of crying children throughout the plane for 11 hrs.Thats one of the reasons I am not going with my husband this month to china.

I was pretty strict with my children's public behavior so I have less tolerance for parents whose children run all over them.

I was always strict with my children as well and I never went on long flights with them until they were over the age of 5.

I did take one son from LAX to Toronto at the age of 16 months, but he still behaved I planned to entertain him, and he did sleep.  And another to Portland, OR at 7 months, but they were great.  I think the other people on the flights would have agreed.

I was always strict with my son as well.  He knew how to behave and act around adults.

Meece, may you have an uneventful flight to Hawaii.  I'm so glad you will see Matt soon.  Give him a hug for me.

I was always strict with my kids too so I don't have much tolerance for ill behaved children.  My grands are all very well behaved too and if they misbehave their parents immediately correct the behavior or take them out of the situation (like in the lobby of the restaurant).

My trip was lovely, the Dominican Rep. had temps in the mid 80s and sunshine everyday of our trip.  We are so fortunate to be able to have this little reprieve.

Tuesday we got to Phili and then our flight to Detroit was cancelled.  We were one of the very few flights into Detroit at 7:30 am Wednesday.  I've NEVER landed on such a snowy runway, the pilot was very good.  It took a while to get to our home (we're an hour north of Detroit) and it was eerily vacant on our highways.  We got 14 inches of snow and even Michigan State University closed!  That is an extreme rarity.

    Stay warm ladies.

So glad you made it home safely, Suz.  Happy that you could enjoy some warmth from the sun before returning to the snow.

Deep south Texas - close to the Mexican border.  Ice storm last night - snow close to South Padre Island.  No power for 16 hours. No water most of today.  Everything back to normal.  Finally getting warm.  Guess I have to stay here - Cozumel was a dream.

Our kids always loved good food.  I mean filet mignon and king crab from the age of 2 on, so we had that leverage.  Want steak (which to then was filet) and crab (king legs)???  Then behave!  that's all they needed.  I was blessed and blessed twice ... if I hadn't had daughters who inherited my love of food I guess I would have been screwed!!
