We in Minnesota are right there with you, but we wxpect the sun this morning.  The snow start later and continues overnite.  I agree...this is rediculous.  Looking forward to staying inside watching the Bears and the Packers.  Go Bears!!

Catbill, since my Saints didn't make it back into the mix, I'm rooting for the Bears, too.  And I'll route for the Jets.  I love football.  Today it is getting up into the 60's.  I sat outside for a few minutes with my precious girls (2 black labs) and it is just gorgeous.  I love birds and yesterday and today I saw:  sandhill cranes, rosetta spoonbills, wood ducks, a hawk and the regulars.  It is supposed to rain more this week and stay what is "cold" for us.  Before any of you say it isn't cold here, remember, we deal with the 90's and 100's during the summer, so anything below 65 is cold for usSealed

WNY temp = 7 degrees Fahrenheit in the sun.  Wind chill warning in effect tonight till Monday.  Had quite the snow last night too, 6 inches or so. It looks pretty with the glistening snow but have to go for chemo tomorrow and the temp is suppose to be -6 or -7  when I go... time to bundle up.  Seriously talking about moving.  New Zealand is looking good right now LOL

When I saw the temp in the greenhouse was at 100° I went out and played in it for a couple hours.  Helped to get my mind off things at hand and wartmed me up nicely.  I kept going in and out so the temp dove to around 70° when I ddecided to come in.

I feel for you because I can't handle the cold at all.  Another one of the beautiful screw ups my body puts me through.

We're down to 5 degrees.  It was -9 this morning and I have no clue what the wind chill was.  I pray it's warm enough for the plane to be de-iced tomorrow morning so I can get the heck out of this horrid cold.

    Stay warm sisters.

Meece, I just saw this weekend that you had started this room (from reading in the Middies room).  Seems like lots of my bco buds come here, so I'll make this a new favorite.  Sheila, it seems you and I have pretty much the same weather.  I'm driving to work tomorrow instead of taking the train 'cause I can't face the walk from the train to my building (about 9 blocks).  A guilty indulgence since I pay for a monthly train pass, but hell, single digits brings that out in me!

Suzette - Have a great holiday!!!!  Fingers crossed your plane will go as planned.

The storm has gone but now we have drizzly, humid weather.  I  managed to walk today in the few hours of clear weather before the drizzle set in and hopefully it will be gone by the morning. 77oF today.

Just found this thread again ... its 8 degrees here.  However, looking at some of the temperatures around the country, I guess we should be thankful.  I have difficulty adjusting to any extremes in temperature - hot or cold!  I wish I could afford to be one of those people who winter in Florida and summer in Maine.

Sheila ... my sister just re-located to Hendersonville, NC - is that near you?  She has had snow at least twice there while we have had none.  She is seeking employment but if she got a job, they close the road to her development if it snows!  That's one way to save on snow plowing.

Meece ... please send a box of warm air.

Raeinnz ... please do the same!

Good to see yet more familiar faces here.  I will send all the warm air you want.  Which size US Postal Flat rate box of air would you like?  I can send as much as I can pack into one, because if it fits...it ships.

get the person sized postal box, I'll just put myself in it and spend the rest of the winter in it.  Windchill temp in Batavia NY is -13, brrrr.  Batavia is an hour east of Buffalo.  Karen

You are not going to walk anywhere in that cold, Seyla.  We don't need you falling or getting sick.  You stay in and stay warm and safe.

Kathleen, Hendersonville is close to Asheville and a little bit higher elevation than Hudson. I guess Hendersonville is about 2 hours from my house.

Temp today lows in the upper 20's high near 40, overcast. Calling for showers tomorrow with possible snow mixed in with the rain.

Neighbor asked if he could have some scrubby trees on my property but close to the property line removed because he was afraid that they would fall on his car shed. I told him I couldn't afford to have them removed but if he wanted to pay for the tree service I would let them be taken out. He paid for the tree removal next to the car shed.  While they were here I had them also take out another tree close to where I park my cars and I paid for that tree removal. It took them about 3 hours to cut down all the trees and chip up the debris. It only cost me $170 and I ended up with several pick up truck loads of logs to go to my parents house and a load of wood chip mulch to use around the house. I think I did pretty good trading this morning. The load of mulch is worth at least 75 and the load of wood is over 100.

Congratulations, Sheila.  It makes you feel good to get a good deal.

I have to get the guest room ready.  DS is coming for his father's funeral.  I am going to try to get the quilt done for his baby-on-the-way, so he can see what the decor will look like.  Lots to do today.

Seyla ... I second the motion that you stay warm and dry.

Sheila ... it does feel so good to get a deal.  Its just like finding buried treasure!

Its fun getting first hand information about the weather across the country and the world.

Today it is starting at 29 degrees and going up into the low forties.  Then tomorrow we head back into the deep freeze.

Did anyone see the car that has been encased in ice?  It was in New York.  Cool (literally) picture.

Mary ... what a generous offer.

Everyone in the cold freeze - stay warm and everyone in warmer climates - stay cool!

Western New york is at 30F right now but as it warms, the snow will come.  Expecting freezing drizzle and snow. I want warmer weather. For some reason when outside is 30-40F range, the inside of the house is cold/damp feeling.  AOn #6 of Taxol yesterday so I feel it in my bones.  Space heater today :)

It was cold and dreary gray yesterday, and looks like more of the same today.
