WOWieKaZOWie!!!!
Lots of birdies already checking in!!!! Whooohooooo!!!!
I'm over-the-moon delighted that my scale said 139.0 this morning. I take that as a moral victory to the max. It doesn't earn any points for my team, but in my heart-of-hearts I'm giving myself a happy face instead.
This week we hosted my husband's golfing buddie, in our home. He's the one that flew in from northern WI. Anyhow, my husband was a 'kind' host and cooked all sorts of brilliant midwestern favorites in his honor, EVERY night this week. Potatoes or rice at every meal, sauces dripping luxuriously, a package of cookies from the bakery, you get the idea.
Anyhow, with all of this slathering of available scrumptious at my finger tips, I only went up slightly in the midst of all of this decadence. So that's my extra credit point for the week!!! I really did use a mantra of: portion control, portion control, portion control, portion control AND I only allowed myself one of the delightful cookies (extreme moral victory of the birdiest calibar!!!)
Checking in on Fri = 1 point
Extra credit good behavior = 1 point
Exercise, 3 x 90 minute aerobics classes, 4 hours x treadmill = 17 points!!!
Water = 7 points (a MASSIVE personal best for me)
Total = 26 points
Keeping my weight in the 130's: happy dance!
Meeting all of you dedicated birdies: PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mimi's husband making it through surgery A-OK, even if whiney = gazillions of happy face smiles:
-
Sometimes its the not gaining a huge amount, when you figure you should have, that makes us so happy. With the birthday dinner for FDIL and leftovers from that, and being on the road all day on Wednesday, I am skeptical about the scale today. But I will do it. I Wii'd for 45 minutes straight today, burning over 300 calories. Maybe a shower will wash off a few ouces of sweat!

Good Morning Ladies,
I like format that a lot of you are using for check-in. Hope you don't mind if I "borrow" it.
Checking in for the Hummingbirds:
Weight loss this week* - 1 lbs (165.0) = 2 points
Exercise 4.75 hours (treadmill, shoveling snow, toning exercises) = 9.5 points
Friday check-in = 1 point
Daily water = 7 points
Extra credit: Actually hit my goal to eat 5 servings of vegetables/ day on three days this week (up from zero last week) = 1 point
Total = 20.5 points
*cumulative loss since joining E-LAB = 2 lb
Off to shovel the latest round of snow... I tell ya, all this shoveling is making the treadmill more an more attractive! At least it's warm inside!
GO HUMMINGBIRDS!!!!

Speaking of the impact of ELAB.......
This friend of ours, who probably weighs about a hundred pounds more than my DH, was introduced to having vegetables at every meal.
AND
It turns out that our friend likes V8's Fusion light Juice that we live on. Theoretically it's giving you some 'hidden' servings of vegetables in with your fruit drink. They make both a light version and a sugar free version. Anyhow, the friend woke up this morning saying, "I'm going to start getting this mango juice you guys are always drinking, when I get home."
AND
The nearly 60 year old man had never eaten a blueberry in his life!!!! Guess what else he likes??
You guessed it! We couldn't keep enough blueberries in the house, to keep him happy.
All I'm saying by all of this, is that when you 'associate' with people who are working at incorporating healthier lifestyle choices, that it literally rubs off on you by association.
Keep hanging out around the LAB. Keep making tweeks-to-your week!!!
BELIEVE that your better choices are indeed good for you!!!

Checking in - Joined Monday - waiting for team assignment, I think!
Weight loss this week - 3.2 lbs = 2 points
Exercise - 4 hours = 8 points
Friday check-in = 1 point
Daily water = 4 points
Extra credit: No more coffee: it's a diuretic and counts against my water intake, for me = 1 point
Extra credit:No more added salt at the table - my BP is slightly up and I DON'T want meds! = 1 point
Total = 17 points for Monday through Thursday. Right?
WOW! This is great! Twice the exercise at Curves, 64 oz. of fluids/day.....Can you promise I'll be down this much next week????? Hopefully I won't bounce right back up!
By the way, Meece, can you change my starting weight to 198? I realized that I gave you my Curves check-in weight and I'll be weighing on my home scales on Friday morning. I was 194.8 this morning at home, down from 198.
I'm filling a 4 cup water bottle in the morning and getting 2 drank by bedtime. Seems I used the bathroom extra the first day, but not so much now. The second bottle, I switch to green tea or at least something different. This is the best and longest I've done this much water. Yes, only 4 days so far but with these results, why would I stop? The problem will be hormone level changes...... as I tend to gain then. But maybe the extra water and exercise will flush out the extra weight gain!
-
2Hands4me,
You're off to a fabulous start... A short week and 17 points is GREAT!!
-
Meece,
Just a quick question... Do you plan to post the team point totals in the header or is the plan to wait until the end of our friendly competition for the totals?
-
(((Suz and DH)))♥
-
What do the team leaders think? Keep running total in the header? It might be easier for everyone to see the same info...
-
Damn! Could not get rid of that survey.
Maintaining from prior week = 1 point 1pt
Exercising = 1 point for each 30 minutes of exercise (keep track ladies) 6pts
Making the Friday Check-in = 1 point 1pt
Meeting daily water intake (yet to be determined) = 1 point per day (keep track) 7pts"Extra Credit" points awarded for special things done to encourage a healthy lifestyle---This week I started working with 5lb weights for bones, VD level is down points????
-
I took it, then had to tell it no thanks to make it go away!!!
-
Deb, If your VD level is down, that is not good. You need to get some sunshine, and take some D3.
-
Meece..What is it you took
Deb...Is it lower than last time or just lower side?
-
Okay sorry you were talking about the survey Yes?
I didnt take it.
-
I am doubling up on my VD, 1600 IU. I have been on Arimidex for 4 years now, this is the first time my level has been down. She will check again in March along with repeating the TM tests and some liver function tests because my CA 27-29 was abnormal.
-
Do we count the weekends when we drink water, I'm just counting M - F. Otherwise it is 7 pts.
-
Of course Deb
Everything is counted as weekdays.
-
We count seven days a week.
-
Meece and all of our Team Leaders,
I do think that being able to see, at a glance, where each of the teams is, point-wise, will really help as an encouragement to do the best you can possibly do to help your team...
Just a thought...
-
and Friday is day one.
