Sherry - Finally the end is in sight.  So glad for you.  DH are I are going on a cruise in April for my birthday.  Can't wait to get on the ship and sail away.  The hill country is beautiful.  That was one of the things I liked about living in San Antonio, we are close and could go frequently.

Sue - The port should not be a problem.  You could always call your carrier to find out for sure.  With all the stupid regulations they have now - you never know.

Yes..being able to travel again....I travelled a fair bit last year with my job after my partner of 16 years left me and I was so stunned by the loss of him that I didn't appreciate a darn thing...includng a beach in Mesico and the mountains in Ecuador...and then breast cancer clipped my wings 10 months later for 6 months while I waited on appointments, healing and schedule changes..I was sooo afraid I would end up with lymphadema and watch my flying disappear....now I appreciate every moment...from lining up to take my shoes off to waiting for a delayed plane.

It is good to be grateful. I plan on travelling to visit a friend overseas this April and I plan on even enjoying the jetlag! (gee..migth even make me sleep:)....

Yes I am ready to do the happy dance on the white sandy beaches. Better than this very cold snow of Iowa, once again I didn't leave the house all weekend because I hate the cold snow. We had a high of 8 yesterday.

I tried to call the carrier but they had a 10 min. hold time and I didn't want to wait.

Thanks, married! They gave me some samples of Xclair which is better than the others but still itchy!! I may try your combination though.  My RO wants to look at my skin again on Tuesday and may go ahead and boost me, rest my skin then finish my treatments.  I have 20 of 33 completed so far.  I liked your suggestion on comfortable dress for large breasts.  I too had to give up the bra and layer tank tops, although the camis as you described is worth a try.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!!!

SkWo 406 - you can also get a camisole that will give you support. I found it at Walmart ...called Cupid. Buy a size larger than you are as it is lycra...has built in cups. They had another brand but it was not enough support for me (I'm a DD..well on one side anyhow!). I have worn them for two months now..throgh radiation, a burned and itchy brast episode and on the days when my breast feels swollen. I really recommend them and they are very inexpensive.

SKW - hope you get some relief. IowaSue - CONGRATS! Teklya - I get my port out Friday and will be prepared for some digging.  Ugh

I started having pain last night in my boob - guess its the swelling going down and things tightening up (if only my stomach would too).  I'm 1 week post rads and my skin is still very dark and radiating heat! I'm so glad its not officially summer here in SoCal. Happy Hump Day ladies!

iowasue - the port doesn't exactly get embedded, but your body "encapsulates" any foreign object in it, so it kind of builds a membrane around the port, and they have to cut it out. you don't feel it because of the anesthetic, but you feel a lot of tugging and pulling (no pain)

Hi December Sisters:  Back from a few days in Caribbean - it did me a world of good.  It sure felt good to travel and sit in a warm place.  My breast is not red anymore - just tan with little bumps.  Congrats to everyone who finished - I am doing the happy dance for you a few days late!

Hello everyone, today was tx # 22 of 25.  On my way home from rads, the fatigue finally hit me.  I couldnt wait to go home and lay down.  My skin is dark , it feels sort of sensative to touch.  I noticed I have little dark  black spots/bumps.  Im assuming its the same kind of bumps you ladies with lighter skin have . . . except yours are red. . . lol  !!! Also, I am getting sharp shooting pains in my breast (or should I say whats left of my breast)  Im thinking I might have to start back taking some pain pills if this pain persists.

toni glad you had a good time on your trip

Singletona80-take the pain pills.  I have 2 more tx left and I am in alot of pain.  Took pain pills the last two nights but broke down today and took them all day.  So glad I did.  I think it is the only way I will make it through.  RO gave me the option to take a break but I just want to finish so forward I go.

Hi ladies, me and my questions. I am wondering now that Im done with chemo and rads., I will be seeing my Onc. in 2 wks 1st time since last chemo. How do we watch for cancer over the next 2 years. Do they just feel the areas and nodes left? Any one had this check up yet?

Hi single, I finished Tue. and just had a few days of bumps and mine itches.

Jo & Toni- good for you, well deserved. My R & R trip starts Sun.  .....so excited.

IowaSue from what I understand they will check our blood and part of that is tumor markers that they look at.  They will also do breast exams on you and mammo's and maybe MRI depending on your MO and history.

Well things are better this morning.  I have been on pain killers for 24 hours and the pain is finally under control.  Have been using neopsorin on the nipple/areola area and the half that is not being tx is looking much better.  The half that is still being treated I will just have to suffer with.  RO gave me the option to take a break but with only two tx left I just want to finish, so as long as the pain killers work I think it is doable.  Going out of town this weekend to see old friends and going to have an early celebration.
