Bilateral no recon in the morning!
In the morning at this time I guess I'll be saying good-bye to two friends of mine! They've been good friends stuck with me through good and bad times. They're so easy going and don't mind just hanging around with me, wherever I go they're there. Sorry guys...my sad attempt at being funny It's time to let them go and move on...just slightly nervous but better than I thought I would be.

Thinking of you Jenny!
Hope the surgery goes as smooth as can be, and your recovery is fast!
Let us know when you are home.
-
Jenny - best best wishes for your surgery & speedy recovery! You'll find the anticipation/anxiety is far worse than the surgery. There is a wonderful post somewhere called Letter to My Boob that someone wrote before their mastectomy. Do a search up on top right navigation bar & you'll find it.
-
Jenny take a picture before you go. I'm glad I did. BTW I felt relieved after surgery knowing that they took the cancer out of me. Never cried a tear after surgery.
Wishing you the best.
-
Jenny,
Good luck with your surgery. I just did the same on 12/6 and surprisingly I feel pretty okay. Thought I'd miss them more than I do.

wishing you a smooth surgery and a complication free recovery. I had a bilat as well, and it was much easier than anticipated, other than the bothersome drains.
Let us know how you are doing.
-
As surgeries go, it's not too hard physically. It's just the emotional attachment we have with them that makes it difficult. Good luck. I hope you sail right through it.
-
wishing you the best. (((((HUGS)))))

Sending you wishes for a fast recovery.........(((Hugs))))

Thinking of you, Jenny. Come back here when you can to post an update. FYI, for me, the recovery was not as bad as I thought it would be.

Adding some additional hugs.
Adding some wishes, hopes and prayers for a smooth and uneventful surgery & a direct and straight-forward recovery. I'd agree with those who have said that the surgery was "easier" than I had anticipated.

Hey everyone!
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. I got home last night and everything went fine & you all were right...it's not as bad as I anticipated & the drains do suck. Can't wait to get the path report but BS said everything looked good from what she could tell. Thanks again girls!
-
Jenny,
Glad that you're home. The drains do suck, but before you know it they'll be gone! What a great step in the whole process, getting rid of the cancer! Thinking of you as you recover.. remember, you're never alone, you have many sisters on this board!
hugs, LittleFlower

Glad to hear the surgery went well and you are home, on the road to recovery. The drains are a temporary inconvenience and will help keep the swelling down. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

jenny, i'm glad to hear it went well and you're safely home!
rest, liquids, and good protein..all will help.
thoughts and prayers coming your way!
-
Hey ladies,
I'm doing great, people can't believe I had surgery a week ago & neither can I. Saw the BS today but still got the drains a few more days she said. Thanks again.
-
Jenny, I'm so glad to hear your surgery went well and that you are recovering. Yep, drains do suck. They'll be gone soon. Hugs!
