Oh they were Kirkland cashews... Costco is my all time favorite store.  I spend a small fortune there.  I guess the fact that I have 3 teenagers might have something to do with it!

Great job on the willpower Sheila!  You are setting a very good example for the rest of us!

Sorry for being away for the last few days.  When DH has time off, he gets plans going in his brain...like cleaning the garage and storage unit.  No time for much more than a peek in once in awhile.  But he is back off to work, and I have some time this morning to get everything posted.

First order of business:  I have realigned the teams as we had a leader need to take a LOA.  Most of you will still be on the same team you were on.  Just tried to even things out.

I am going through post by post since Friday to get all the info right.

    Thanks for your patience.

Looks like I shrunk in size from a Crane to a Hummingbird!  Just wanted to say HI to my new team-mates!

Also, I know you are really busy Meece but, there were a couple of girls that posted looking for a team one was ronqt1 and the other 2Hands4me.  I know this thread gets going and moves quickly so I did go back to see where they posted.    ronqt1 posted on page 79 and 2Hands4me on page 80.

    Hope that helps!

Hi all, especially my fellow Roadrunners - my captain, my captain Sheila and our esteemed leader Meece!!

The good news - had my annual mammo today and everything was clear. I also met with my consultant and he has advanced me from the 3 month protocol to the 6 month protocol - Yipee!!   Tomorrow marks 2 years post mx for me, last Sunday was 2 years post dx.  Because I have now passed my 2 year cancerversay I have been referred to a plastic surgeon to discuss possible reconstruction - that appointment is next Monday so if any of you have any advice to offer on that matter please, please let me know so that I can make up a question list for the dr.

And the bad news - I confess I have been comfort/stress eating since the weekend.  Then DH and I went for a celebratory Pizza after the hospital visit today and I have eaten a humongous amount of chocolate. My redeeming points are I have done 60 plus minutes of Wii every day and have exceeded the daily fluid goal.  But I doubt that I will see a smaller figure on the scales this Friday.

Tomorrow my home and I will be assessed to see if I am a 'suitable' carer for my Mum.  Hello!! I am the only one willing to do it so if 'they' don't find me suitable it means 'they' will institutionalise her and seeing as our government has no money  at present I dread to think of the standard of care she would received in a state run centre.   But I am really nervous about it - what if I fail - I know that eventually I will have to turn to a professional care facility but I would prefer to be able to do it on my terms and chose somewhere I feel she would retain her dignity and be comfortable - I would hate her to be 'taken away'. Sorry for putting all this on the E-LAB thread but these are the reasons I eat so it is relevant.

Now Renee, I send you and your DH all the most positive of vibes (and I've thrown in a four leaf clover and a rabbits foot!!!) - I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

And bookart (I hope I have the right person but I'm sure you will know who you are) pneumonia is no joke - take care of yourself - hopefully the test result will be negative but even so take it easy.

Meece - seems like you will be due extra points for garage clearance duties and personally I think you should get one for being the best leader since 'The Great Oz' !!

    Roadrunners keep on running!!!

Hi, ronqt1.  Sorry it took me so long to get you on board.

If you'd like, post your satrting weight and how much you would like to lose.  Then on Friday sometime, post if you lost weight (and how much), how many minutes of exercise you completed from the previous Friday through Thursday,  If you were able to make an intake of 32 oz of non-sugared, non-carbonated liquids , tell how many days of the week you were able to make this goal.  You will find lots of good ideas from the ladies here, and you might just find the best balance ofwhat will workfor you.

Spaghetti squash!  Yes I have made that for my family on numerous occasions, why couldn't I think of that this time?

Could someone post a photo of Spaghetti Squash please because I don't know which squash you are all referring to - I can get butternut squash locally and sometimes I see other squashes at the market but I don't know which ones they are.

Sheila - I have such admiration for you - if I could pick those cashews out of your picture I surely would - I just cannot have anything that might compromise my efforts in the house and I love nuts of all kinds - hence DH having to hide the peanutbutter!!  I have a little stash of some treats for my Mum but I try to get things that I don't really like!!

    Welcome to the Roadrunners Ronqt1.

Ainm, Go raibh maith agat as do compliments deas! Beidh mé i mo ghuí Is tú a choinneáil le haghaidh do iniúchadh.  (Thank you for your nice compliments! I will keep you in my prayers for your inspection.)

    Whew, done.  Caught up.

Now I will get ready for my appointment with the doctor who will do my colonoscopy.  I think I should get a point or two for getting the courage up to actually make this appointment.  Then there will be the actual colonoscopy appointment....

Ainm, take a fork and fluff the inside of the cooked squash,  It makes noodles of squash, and I have actually had many people not know it wasn't pasta when topped with marinara sauce.

Hmmm .... not sure I've ever seen this one - does anyone know has it any other name.  How do you cook it before you fluff it - it sounds intriguing - I'd love to try it!!

Ainm, It is so clear you are a good daughter...hiding treats for your Mum!  I'm sure you will pass the inspection with flying colors, not to worry.  And congrats on the good news from the mammo.

I bake them.  They are about 10 inches or longer, so I slice it lengthwise, remove seeds then place on a baking sheet, cut side down an bake until tender.  About 30 mintes at 350 degrees F.

It is a type of winter squash and could be called calabash.

Tá an céart agat Meece - you have it right .  I should have remembered that from when we had a family holiday in CA in 2000 - it was a dream come true - we stayed with friends in Pasadena in LA and then drove up to San Bruno in San Francisco - I just loved it, great memories!!

Incidentally Faithie - you mentioned some posts back that you may be visiting Europe - if you are thinking of coming to Ireland please let me know - I live near one of the biggest tourist areas in Ireland - Killarney and I would love to welcome you so be sure to get in touch.

How exciting to see the weight numbers posted!!! We are all doing so well!

Are we planning to put the total point tallies for the teams to the header?  Or is that something we will find out at the end?

    don23,

    Thanks!

Been doing well this week on the exercise front but, that scale just doesn't seem to want to budge.  Hopefully it's saving it all up for a big ta-da moment for Friday weigh-in Wink
