Baby it's cold outside

It's 2-4 inches for us tomorrow.  Temps are around 10 degrees today.  It's gonna be a three-dog night again, Unfortunately, I only have one, and she's a small one at that.  Oh, heavens, the weather forecast is on TV as I write this.  They just said after tomorrow's snow it gets REALLY cold again.  What, 10 degrees isn't cold enough?

D4 Hope, yes I know Rochester well, one hour drive from here.  Buffalo gets a bad rap,  Syracuse gets a lot more snow than Buffalo.  We earned the rap during the '77 Blizzard.  Stay under a warm blanket and watch Deperate Housewives LOL

Good news, Rochester is well prepared when dealing with snow.  Hubby was working out of town and they shut down the city for a 5 inches.  5 inches to buffalo/rochester is exactly your reference, annoying. Stay warm my friend

We're supposed to have a low of -2 degrees F tonight also.  Brrrrrr.  8 more sleeps and I am flying to the Dominican Republic (as long as Detroit and Philadelphia have no snow storms to prevent us from flying a week from Monday).  We are supposed to get up to 5 inches of snow on Monday night but the long range (for 8 days from now) looks sunny although very cold.

Trisha, 86 degrees sounds heavenly.  I hope you're not in the area with the floods or the fires!

 Just on my way to chemo this AM and my outside thermometer is reading -9.9 yep, that's negative 9.9 degrees Fahrenheit!!  The official temp is minus 2.  Either way it's really cold outside.  Three sweaters, winter coat, hat, gloves two pairs of socks, boots, DD is heating the car up.  I'm cold already. Not snowing yet I think it's too cold to snow!!  Have a great day ladies.

The bigger shell has a hermit crab living in him, so can't pick those up.  I felt guilty stepping on so many shells and crunching them, but they were everywhere.  Today it is pouring outside.  We are having to let water out of the pool, but it can't keep up with how much rain we are getting.  It started when we went to bed last night around midnight and hasn't stopped.  It is supposed to rain all day.  We have a conservation area behind the house that at times has 6 feet of water in it and then it can completely dry up.  Yesterday, one area was completely dry.  Today it is full.  We needed the rain badly.  Just getting it all at once.DH flies back to Virginia for 11 more days today.  It was a surprise to have him home for the long weekend, but will miss him greatly when he leaves.

My sis lives in Preble, right out of Syracuse.  I hear often from her about how very cold it is up there, but have the most spectacular summers and springs.

Went to quilt guild tonight at 6 and it was just starting to sprinkle, someone was leaving at 7 and came back in to say it was snowing! the temp was just at 33 degrees and big wet flakes were coming down. Temperature has been hovering around freezing since then. We are not expecting anything to lay tonight.

Meece - where I live, in the top half of the North Island of NZ, the climate is considered sub-tropical and the rest of the country is considered temperate but there are vast differences in climates in the temperate zone. Climates are a bit more alike up our way but get hotter and more humid the further north you go. Day/night temp range in summer here is usually 60 - 80 and in the winter 40 - 60.  We rarely have temps above 90 and below 30.  We are at the lower end of the sub-tropical area so the temps and humidity are not as extreme as further north - just perfect for me as I don't really like the humidity and I don't like cold.

We are in the second day of a tropical storm that has come down to visit us.  4 inches of rain over the last 12 hours and the same or more expected over the next 24 hours.  Winds are predicted to pick up overnight too - don't like high winds.  Temp is still round 75.

Wind chill warnings in effect.  Temp's below the donut, just enough breeze to feel like a knife when I stuck my head out the door when the dog went out this morning.  Snow is one thing (and it's snowing again), cold is expected, but this is rediculous!
