    I have never used a "tracker" before so I don't know how it works but it might be very helpful!  Anyone?

    Thank you guys I needed to read those last few posts. Keeps you grounded and thankful...

    My heart just goes out to ladies who are further advanced w/ kids. I can't even bring myself to read their post because it makes me so SAD.

    Okay, I finally weighed in today.  Even though I completely went off of my diet over the holidays I seem to be still hovering at 150, however, my belly pooch is just fat and gross looking--I no longer have a waist!!??  Blame it on ageing and no excercise.  Did Wii Yoga today for 30 minutes.  California decided to be warm today so I am hoping to get a walk in today, too.  Had a cup of coffee with half and half and a plain egg and salsa burrito for breakfast.  going to have some Organic Euro Style Yogurt with fresh blackberries and raspberries then it's on with my day.  Happy dieting, ladies!  Weening off of sugar is hard!!!

    27 inches of snow here in CT!

    I got my snow shoes out and walked up and down the street.

    Does that count as exercise? lol

    I hope the plow comes soon.

    claire:  Since it's way harder to walk in snow I'd say that's a days worth, LOL!

    I really don't know if if have anything constructive to say...!  But I will think about it.

    Anyway, about the weigh in.I started at 150.  Weighed myself on two different scales at my work today..one said 150, one said 148..can we go with the 148?Surprised

    A vendor took me out for lunch so I had a bigger lunch than usual.  However, I did walk on the treadmill tonight and my pedometer is now at 10,128 for the day.  I felt like stopping but kept going to reach at least 10,000 steps.

    Titan - Positively the lower number, the higher number is a mistake!

    Well........today I was bad, but only for dinner.  My Mom invited us to dinner and had this wonderful casserole dish with cheese, cream, pasta and spinach - it was so good!  Guess that means I'll have to be extra careful tomorrow.

    Sherri - I wore my Canadian mittens today. I LOVE them and so did everyone else.  Thank you!

    I definitely want in! I gained 10 lbs since my MX and wedding in November. Great friends and family took care of me, and made me so much yummy and delish food, cakes, cookies, candy, etc. Now I don't fit into any of my clothes! I'm weighing in at 150 now (well, on Monday I was). I would LIKE to be at 135, however, my body always seems to like to stick to 140. I guesssss I should try that whole thing called, excercise, huh? Lol. I wish I liked it more! The things I like, I can't do right now. Like swim, snowboard, walk outside (it's 14 degrees here. No way Jose), bike ride... I really think I need to join a gym. I worked at one for a very long time, and STILL didn't work out. Gah! And my husband is a runner big time, and love sports all around. Why can't I get into this stuff!

     P.S. Oh crap. I'm not a triple negative. Can I still play?! Tongue out

    Erica:  Sure, we are all here trying to do the same thing, right?

    Titan:  Go with the lower number!  I found that it depends on the time of day, the scale, what I am wearing.  Just a thin sweater can add 3 pounds!!!

    I just bought the "Why French Women Don't Get Fat" yesterday on Amazon after making one of her recipes for dinner.  Yummy!  The "secret" is once a month, for seven days, you make some kind of yogurt, grains, fruit and flax seed concoction and don't have any sweets or alcohol during this time.  I guess it's kind of a fast except you still eat.  That's one way to keep off the pounds but I think maybe you have to get down to a good starting place first?  Don't know but the recipes look great and the first one I tried (downloaded) was yummy!

    BTW:  Did NOT get a walk in yesterday, however, I DID completely re-organize my office!

    Ok, so my DH bought me new running shoes for Xmas. Since i started using them my knees have been bothering me.I decided to use my old running shoes instead of the new one today ..... and surprise! My knee does not hurt. I think the new running shoes are the culprit. Do you think the store will exchange them for me, even after i have used it? I can't wear them anymore. I wanted to know your opinion before I make a fool out of myself.

    My honest opinion - no they won't take them back!!!! Can you wear them when NOT running, or is it simply wearing them that bothers your knees?

    Got in another 40 minute workout today and a little bit of waling.  Not too great of a diet today but I did eat lots of vegis:)  Oh and two pieces of dark chocolate, too.

    MonikaV - sometimes they will take shoes back as long as they are not dirty and do not show much  wear and are not over 30 days old, just depends on where you purchased them.  It is always worth trying.

     Yesterday 3 miles running, and then jumped rope, today is an off day since I will have a long run tomorrow about 8 miles.

    This morning I was a couple of pounds heavier than when we started last week. However, like I said earlier, I think I need a week or two to figure out an accurate starting weight because I had food poisoning at the tail end of my vacation so the starting weight might not have been a true number.

    Sugar:  We are just at the very beginning and who knows, all that walking, maybe it's muscle weight or maybe because it's so cold it's clothing weight!

    Since I weigh myself at work I usually have clothes on...(don't own a scale)...then you can deduct 5 or 10 lbs...easy peasy

    Heidi- Hah!!! Me to!!! I always weigh myself in the a.m. after I pee, and totally nakie!! Cool Oh yeah, and make me as 148.8 on this past Monday.

    Congrats to all of you that are losing...I am at least not gaining so that's something, right?  My problem is that I have no willpower and we are being showered with fabulous meals, baked goods, etc.  Last night brownies with little mint M&M's in them....day before that a box of cookies from a really good bakery nearby, homemade apple strudel on Wednesday along with dinner, etc, etc.  I know I need to resist but when it's late and the idea of a cup of tea and something sweet enters my head it's hard to ignore.....I guess I could always increase the amount of exercise I'm doing but that would require getting off the couch!!  Renewed resolve today (it also helps that we shouldn't get another delivery of dinner and goodies until Monday).  We have amazing friends and neighbors.

    Feeling good today - I have a break til my next dose on Tuesday so am going to get outside and enjoy the sun and low 60's temps.  Maybe do a bit of yard work - bulbs are trying to sprout but are having a hard time getting through the layer of leaves left from fall.

    I plan to implement the 'deduct 10 lbs. for clothes' approach.  At my onc's I weigh 174 (yikes!) at home 168 - but both are with clothes....don't plan to test the theory by wieghing both with and without - I'll just go with the idea that it's 10 lbs less!!!

    dlcw- eat what you want guilt-free. With chemo, you deserve it. Always time after chemo to start a serious diet and, as you say, at least you are not gaining weight. So, that's a good thing.

    Me? Ate at Applebees today. Probably gained 2 pounds just from looking at their food.

    Heidi:  LOL!

    dlcw:  I am with Heidi:  During chemo the most important thing is to eat!  I used to be a vegetarian before all of this BC mess, now I eat lots and lots of protein.  I seemed to crave chicken and eggs all through chemo.  Sugar grossed me out.  I could have ate eggs three times a day and nothing else.  Good thing my DH cooks.  So great you have such wonderful neighbors!
