Fellow "deletees"

Can't wait to hear what Melissa has to report after their tech meeting! Hopefully, good news and important changes for this forum.
Thanks Melissa,
Bren

Wow, I haven't been here in a long time. Poor Melissa. Where are the big girl panties?
-
Ladies: I think we should rename this thread "The BCO Church of the ST. DELETEE!! Is there a confessional related with this church where we can get repentence for having only thoughts that agree with Melissa. Maybe she should only allow posters on here who have had lobotomies and can be trained to only have positive thoughts. There was no-name calling on here but Melissa expects us to live up to standards I have only seen for NUNS. I am not a Nun and I will not have one person dictate to me what I can and cannot say especially when she can't show what I have done or the others to get poofed off. I wonder why adults disagreeing on something upsets her so much?? She needs to look within herself for these answers. So I have better things to do with my time than to take part in this. I guess Laura got what she really wanted so maybe now I can just go PLAY on her favorite thread. And YES, I DO know now who the real deleters are. I will miss many of you nice gals but not many others and especially MELISSA for her insecurity in handling this thread in the adult way.
-
Goodness gracious.
-
Medigal, how else do you expect Mods to handle name-calling. We have a set of Rules of Conduct that do not allow members to degrade each other. There are many other members out there who say that I allow too much "name-calling" or degrading comments to occur.
Nobody is asking anyone to live like a saint or nun, rather to ask respectfully in a public forum.
-
Moderator: I sent you a PM. I hope you will take it in the manner it was intended. Maybe we need a class on what "name calling" is considered in this thread. I would love to read the posts where you found all this "name calling". Just because "one poster" spends her time goading us is no reason, in my opinion, for us to be punished because we tried to get her to stop. SHE should have been the one to pay for what she did, not the rest of us. I will be awaiting your decision on the question I put to you in my PM. I am a great believer in the "majority" rules. SHE was not in the majority yesterday. Your cooperation is appreciated.

OKay, I CRS. What did I say that got deleted? I know it was off topic, but I don't think I was rude.
-
I don't remember but I don't think it was inappropriate because I know whose were.
-
I don't remember what I said either, but it got deleted too.

I have been lurking on this and your other thread(s) for a long time, and I have to say that I have often wondered if Laura is the deleter.
Laura-deepest apologies if you are not. I'm just adding my 2 cents.
Mary
PS I love the interplay that is going on in these 2 threads!
-
Wow. What is happening?
-
I am mystified.
-
Intimidation?
-
Wow -- it is just getting so sad it's funny. I can see the deleters cackling away, fingers shaking in anticipation as they reach for the delete button...
-
Is anybody keeping a record of what they write which is then deleted?
-
Have you reviewed the "Community Rules" recently? BCO reserves the right to do what ever it wants with whatever you post.
I was especially interested in this part:
By using the Discussion Boards or Chat Rooms, you are granting Breastcancer.org a perpetual, exclusive, royalty-free and irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, create derivative works from, transfer, and sell any such messages, files or communications.
So they can sell our stories. Interesting.
-
I believe the most recently deleted post speculated, giving a name, of who might be deleting posts. Hmmm.
-
Well, I read it. And, in all fairness, while it was politely said, it probably did break BCO rules of conduct. Don't know whether it was true or not. Edited - typo
-
MollyAnn - when deleted "by community" the deletee receives a computer generated email to their personal email address. The email contains the deleted post.
-
I did name a name, and I'm not surprised I got deleted.
It only makes me think what I thought even more.
Mary

And I've discovered the "ignore" button.

While I am still here, will someone please advise me what is the difference between "deleted by community" and "deleted by Moderators"? How do we know if we have been banned? I know I was teasing or kidding Laura about Sara Palin because Laura kept returning with remarks to us. However, I usually do not do "name calling" to people on here. That's not my style. I would love to be able to see what I posted that was so bad other than refusing to sit back and allow myself to be goaded over posts. This entire thing has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous. Frankly, I am tired of it all.
Alpal: If the post you are referring to and read was mine, would you be able to let me know what I said? How are we supposed to change our conduct if we don't know what is acceptable on here? Thanks!
-
All I know is I did not use "threatening, hateful, or abusive language". I speculated, got a personal message from that person telling me that I need to remove my post or the moderators would remove it for me. That person is now on "ignore".
Mary

I've never gotten an email from a deleted by moderators post. It might be a good idea to start an automated message for those deletions so we can have a record, like MollyAnn mentioned.
Interestingly, I can understand my community deletion (my post made in heat of the moment, wild emotions during AZ shootings) but not the moderator deletion from this thread. I said please, and thought I was polite. Oh well.
Edit to clarify -- I meant my wild emotions. Can't speak for the deleters.

Are you kidding me. You don't know if it was true or not? No, it wasn't true.

Makes you think WHAT even more?

I hope the mods delete your post above and the one above that. You are defaming a person without even knowing what the heck you're talking about. What gives you the right to inject your "opinion" with a name about whom you know nothing. I can tell you. If she was deleting she would have told you. And, furthermore, she is not deleting any posts. Perhaps the mods can help you with that.
IMO, this is getting out of control....the speculation. You gals need to cool your jets. Melissa's going to get tired of the whining and put a stop to it!
-
Shirley: You must have a "great" memory or you somehow have a copy of these posts. I have so much going on that I don't remember my own posts much less someone else's. Too bad we can't get a copy of all these deleted posts so we can learn from them.
-
Wasn't yours, so don't worry about it. When 5 people delete a post it is deleted by the community. It's an automatic software thingy. Probably don't need to add that I'm not all that computer literate. If you have X number of posts deleted by the community then you're restriced to X (5, I think) posts a day for X number of days. I'm putting X because I don't know the number. I think banning is something that is done by the moderators when it is obvious that someone is a trouble maker - based on deletions, etc.
The posts that were deleted earlier in the day were manually deleted by the moderator. I assume, in an effort to calm things down. I don't think they come with any sort of restrictions, at least I haven't received any notice of that. I know for a fact that the post I wrote did not break any rules. It was only 1 sentence which is why I can remember it. Perhaps, Melissa can delete posts without them actually breaking a rule. Doesn't make any difference with my post because it would make no sense without the previous post which I was replying to - don't really know about that.
-
Shirley - how would I know it's not true? We aren't told the names of the people who are deleting posts. We know when the mod deletes our posts. The only way we'd know who reported a post when it's deleted by the community is if the deletors were honest enough to tell us.
-
People "whine" when they get frustrated by inaction. Just as in other posts/topics/threads when some people go on and on ad nauseum about something. There are plenty of "whiners" in other threads who are not those accused of being whiners in this thread.
Ack -- am I making sense??? I need a cookie.
