Nothing like a hot flash in the middle of the night to ruin a nice sleep.

No steel-toed boots here, but I have hiking boots. Not sure I could find a lumberjack shirt here. I already dress poorly according to French standards. I can just hear the snickers now. Embarassed But, I can pull on a sweater. What are we using them for again? Yikes, a couple hours sleep and I'm completely lost.

Rocky: "Maya, I never got carded when I visisted France in the 1980s, even though I was in my 20s!" That's because there is no minimum age to drink. Gasp. The age to buy alcohol was recently raised from 16 to 18.

See you all in the morning. Yawn.

gee Laura, please try not to be so bossy and tell people what to do.  If you don't like the thread, you can choose not to read it.

perhaps if the deleters got over their compulsion to delete there wouldn't be a need for this thread.

I just got back on after a few hours to watch tv and Laura is still disappointed with the posting???

Laura:  What exactly do you want us to "move on" to?  Isn't this out of character for you to be so bossy?  Must be the ALs doing it.  I know Arimidex can make me an emotional wreck at times.  That is why I enjoy kidding around on here and getting my mine off of the bc problems.  Too bad it's not the same for you.   Have a nice evening ladies.  I am closing up shop for the night.

Bin:  Before I close up, I just "had" to reply to your "Melissa often drops by to talk to us".  It's not a social visit, "she's" watching us!  You know like when  we were kiddies and our mommy kept sneaking a peak in our bedroom door to make sure we weren't eating cookies in bed or had a friend sneak in our window.  That's what mommies are for and now when we try to do it to our kids they scream at us "YOU don't trust me!  You are going to scar me for life!"  Smile  We can't say that to Melissa because we are not children.   But being "watched" is not exactly a social visit, imo.

Have a good night, ladies,  wherever you are.

IMHO, If someone doesn't like what they are reading here either add a constructive response or, just like the radio or TV, switch the station.  No one is being forced to read this thread, and there are plenty of others on this site to go to if this gets too uncomfortable................

Sharon .. I agree with you.  If this thread is upsetting to you, move on to something else.  BCO has something to offer for everyone.  The 'ignore' function works well too.

Or maybe Medigal maybe Laura is facing brand new state taxes of 66% and new inflated corporate taxes in the state of IL ......did you see the new unemployment figures this morning?........have you noticed the price of gasoline?......when was the last time you went shopping for groceries?......have you even notice the inflation that is coming with our food prices.........

Shokk .. What Lauragto is going through is nothing different than what most of us are going through now, including you.  I'm not lashing out on this site because my heating fuel is low or the fact that I am vastly underemployed as well.  Many, many of us are at our wits end .. but we aren't lashing out at each other.

I'm glad you wanted to stand up for your friend, that's what friends are for ... but this isn't about Dems and Repubs or even the tea party, it's about being civil with one another.

    love you,

    Bren

Thanks Madalyn .. I'm going to scoop up those good vibes.  I'm still on hold about that great job I wanted.  Won't know for another couple of weeks.  The entire project may disappear!  argghhh!  I've stepped up my marketing, so hopefully something will come of that.  Being self-employed is really tough right now!

Shokk...perhaps the person in question should ponder what is going on in all of our personal lives before throwing out stupid comments meant to bait others.  When you try to stir up trouble that may just be what you find.

And what happened to the theory that was being thrown around a few months ago?  You know the one where if people studied hard enough, went to good schools and worked hard....they would be able to take care of themselves forever and ever.  Everyone needs a foot up sometimes.

Just got off work and see things are still going round and round here. I've decided I like being a deletee. It's kind of like being in the "rough" crowd in junior high, makes me feel young again--but without the pesky problems of puberty.

Madalyn I didn't post anything that Laura hasn't posted herself...........I made sure of it.........

And unless any of you gals live in IL and you just lost 66% of any earned income in one day I think anyone that is facing the challenges we are all facing in one way or another with this current economy and many of the best and brightest economist are telling us that it will be years before we return to any kind of unemployment figures to around 5% has the right to have a bad day..........like I said.........basic human decency.........

If you girls want to keep harping about the delete button, go for it. Melissa said they're working on it, what more do you want? I'm sure Melissa has more important things to do than babysit. Geesh...nothing like beating a dead horse.

    shokk,

The state of Illinoies has raised its income tax from 3% to 5% on a temporary basis to balance the budget.  It is not an increase to 66% but an increase in the rate by 66%.  That is a big difference.

Arkansas, where I live, has a state top income tax of rate of 7% and we have a balanced budget, improving schools and roads and an increase in new businesses coming into the state.

I am proud to live in Arkansas where prudent governance is the rule not the exception.  Mike Huckabee, a Republican, helped Arkansas improve in all areas by raising taxes.  Mike Beebe, a Democrat, has not raised taxes but contiues to maintain a balanced budget without cutting much needed programs.

I hope this clears things up.
