Multi-Grade Tumor

After bilateral mastecomies, my path report showed my tumor to have Grade 1 and also Grade 3 areas.  Has anyone else out there had a similar report?  How did your onc explain this, and what did he/she say for successful treatement??  I had BC only on my right side, but chose to do bilateral masts, and so glad I did.

My 8.5cm tumor had mostly grade 3, but some grade 2.  My surgeon said that it's pretty normal to have different grades in one tumor, especially the bigger ones.

Sherri G:  Am curious then did you ask your onc to explain how that happens, i.e. parts of your tumor were higher percent of hormones?  Does it have to do with length of time from formation of a tumor to when it is found? I may have even saw something like the ER/PR percentage in my report, but maybe not.
