Because I like to dream and go back to my childhood that was perfect, dream with the places I lived, anything that takes me out of reality , that even that I am doing fine, I lost a lot, too many friends, family, all gone, I dream with them because when you remember they do not die.

Mine's not very imaginative, either:  it simply describes me, with the double-r (grrrrrrrr)  to show how fierce and strong I am!  Smile Ha!

My father's lifelong nickname was Sugar and he was 77 when he died of bladder cancer. So my screen name is a tribute to him!

I was doing a lot of bushwalking (hiking) around the time of my dx and I liked the appearance of one of our native plants - geebung - so I used it for my screen name.

I like word plays and "enjoy/joyful" describes my approach to life on most days.

    Namaste!

I chose the name of my DH's solo canoe. We own several solo and tandem canoes.  We have named them all.  About 10 years ago when we got his solo we saw an article that mentioned a native american saying "Hanta Yo" meant "Clear the way" which we thought was quite appropriate for his manner of paddling.  One didn't want to be too close to his canoe because he was always in the middle of some disaster. You especially didn't want to be in front of him.  Somewhere along the line we found that it was from the Lakota Sioux language and the "Clear the Way" indicated the intent of drawing on the Great Spirit to clear the way while you do your part with faith.  Seemed appropriate for a screen name at this time of my life.

I will also pass on why I like to use the greeting Namaste!.  I learned this word when I went on trek in Nepal in 2000.  The Sherpas on our trek always greeted us with Namaste! and a bow of the head with the hands folded up towards the chin.  I was told this was a sign of respect and that it meant "I salute the god in you".  Using this form of greeting before communicating with someone reminds me how special and wonderful and treasured that this person is whom I am addressing.

I'm fire-dancer for my love of the music from Dave Matthews Band.  A fire-dancer has been kind of the band's insignia since their early years, it is also my avatar if your wondering what it looks like Laughing I met my DH because of our common crazy-obsession for the band 15 years ago.  I have sooo many great memories that are tied to their music and it's my "happy place".  Even our 5 & 7 years old daughters are fans!

We just came back from a road trip to see Dave Matthews Band for the 65th time, yup, we are a bit crazy but it was perfect timing before I undergo BMX in 4 days, a great escape to the place we both love to be!

My initials are KLM.  After I got married and my last initial became M my dad used to call up and say "how is my flying duchess today?".  I added the T to duchess and made it dutchess as KLM is the royal Dutch airlines.

Back in the days when Star Wars was new, the husband of a friend sometimes called me Gilly-One, a take-off of Obi-one. (Not sure of spelling!) So, though I am Gillian really, I am often Gill and now Gillyone on BCO.

I have not read all the posts on this thread, so this might have been mentioned before. But when you first join BCO, you need to come up with a screen name fairly quickly and sometimes a name is just something easily accessible rather than some well thought out plan.
