December......2 years ago
I came a long way...........just wanna let you know, how things are going. 2 years ago, this week, I found my lump, quick had biopsy, was dx one week before x-mas.
2 years later........ I feel great. Going on 52, I am letting my hair getting grey, and I just love that color. My DD is almost finish with her Master in Bio in Europe. Doing so well.
My youngest, Emily, is doing great.......Cant complain. Life is good.
I eat so well, have a friend who knows here in Dr. Beliveau, and cooking all the good stuff.
Exercise every day, mostly walking and including running sessions. I wish I could run more than 30 min., but ...hey..... i am not getting younger.
At McGill, here in Montreal, BC patiens have bone scan and abdominal ultrasound each year.Plus mammo.
I am so freaking NED.......Tamox is doing great with me, and besides hot flashes, not much to complain.
Only thing, I am still arguing with my doc for the Zometa........
Ovaries probably out in January/february, will have a pap test this week.
Well, hope you all have a great x-mas, and hope you are doing great.........

Hello Carol, It is such welcome news to know that you are doing so well, that you are healthy and happy. It's also fantastic that you are exercising like that and eating healthy foods. Congratulations to your DD, a biology degree is a lot of work. Sounds like you get very thorough follow-up at McGill. Stay warm, not easy in Montreal, I know!
I edited this to add that I think your doctor has more evidence now, since the SABCS, to give you Zometa if you are postmenopausal.

Wonderful post! I relate to the pride in your kids. Both of mine have masters and I can't believe what great kids they are. Being NED and having a good life -- what more could a person want? Yeah - I know what else we want. Zometa! But it looks like I've been cutoff by the insurance company!
