I have copd and my lungs are in to bad of shape for an open biopsy. but if if starts to grow any then they will try another needle biopsy and if that don't work they will do the open lung. i am just so confused on all this mess. what i would really like to know if anyone has this problem? I and 3 years our and wondering how long i will live with all this going on. I weigh 93lbs and can't eat or sleep from all this . i have an app. with the nurse practioner and i need to ask some questions , what should i be asking her. any one have and sugestions on that?

sorry you are going through so much. i would suggest you let the nurse know that
1. you are not sleeping or eating...maybe she can help with that.
2. often times they will rescan a nodule in the lung to see if it has changed during the time from one scan to the next. if they do a needle biopsy they will have to have exact measurement which they can get on a CT scan.. it is good they are watching you with the CT scan....it gives them the information that they need to decide what to do/treat you.
3. can you have a PET/CT scan?
4. ask about blood work' ...ie..are they doing tumor markers on you and if any of your blood work is showing anything to be concerned about
getting some sleep and eating sounds really important right now...maybe buy some ensure for vitamins . you can drink it.
hope this helps

Hi 1-7 bb,
Diana and Sherri has given you great advice.
I had 12 nodes removed and 12 were positive. I am also her 2 positive.
Treating your collarbone node is standard w/ radiation, so that's good. Also your biopsy of your lung lesion was negative for BC mets which is very good. Lung nodes are very common and it's also standard to " watch" them for any changes, so that's normal too.
The thing is your weight and not sleeping. it is very important to speak with your doctor and perhaps get something to help with your anxiety and sleep.
You will feel better if you're relaxed and rested.
