Sue ~ that is great news about hubby !  So happy.  Let us know what the surgeon says.  Which surgery you decide on.  May the 30th come and go quickly and without bad news.........

Nettie ~ make your appt all will be fine !  Swallow a pain pill.  I am sure it hurts.  Double mastectomy here so no mammo's.

    Hugs.

Thanks Alicia - I knew he'd be fine. Big onc only wants him to have one more scan in about 18 months and then he's free!!!

Nette - I delayed making the appt - now I'm glad I made it. Don't be scared off because of what happened to me. Don't forget mine was already there - they just didn't pick it up last time.

Lumpectomy possible!!! or wide local excision as she calls it. Surgery brought forward to 23rd November (next Tuesday eeeek!!!!) as she couldn't do it at the big hospital until Dec 9th. It turns out I can have the radioactive part of the sentinel node biopsy the afternoon before which is good as it's close to home. Also she seemed confident the XRay place at the smaller hospital can do the wire localisation adequately so I agreed to do it sooner.

Well, less time to worry about the surgery this way, Sue.  Glad to hear a lumpec. is possible. Do you have details about the radioactive part or did you have one with the lumpec.?  Just think, in a week, it will be all over with!!!!  Give me the time of your surgery so I can figure out the time here so we can be with you.  (It will be sometime Monday evening for us, Warrior friends. 11 hrs earlier.)

Alicia:  remind me...when is your replacement surgery?

    Happy Thursday!   Nette  :)

Wow Sue. That's coming fast! I will toast a glass of wine on Monday night to you and DH! Such wonderful news!

Curious question, if you have recon, do you still get mammos?

I don't write often anymore, I just don't know what to say, but I'm with you in my heart and I pray for you everyday. I'm so sorry still, as I know it must be stressful. Between your last year's journey and your husband, you just don't seem to be getting a break. I'm glad all was good w/ DH. And I know everything will turn out well for you also.

    In my thoughts, always, Brenda

Thanks Brenda, I'm very nervous now that the surgery is a reality.

It's set for 10:30am on Tuesday our time. I had an SNB last time and the radioactive part never worked after 6 hours of sitting there. So, I'm glad I'm going to the place near home as that's where I go for all of my radiology and I like the people there and they can't keep me for 6 hours as they have a closing time :) I go at 2pm Monday.

Sue, I am glad things are moving forward...lets get that bonnie out of there...

Ok, Nette it is up to yuo to let us know when to hold hands and give Sue her big hug....We should start a day before  to be sure we are all working together to send good vibes...strength in numbers.

I saw my big ONC yestereday...she gave me the big thumbs up.  I am dancing with NED.  Yah me.  I don't see her again for another six months.  I do however see little onc in feb.  He gives a super dooper breast exam so I never mind seeing him...as well I will get a mammo in the early spring.  It is amazing how far I have come in a year.  We all have. Big hugs to you all..Kiss

Hey Melinda - I started to worry that you hadn't told us the outcome of the PET scan and the reference to some uptake on the last report. Obviously it's all fine - HURRAY!!!!!

    How's the boyfriend coming along?

Well, I went to work today and packed my stuff in boxes so they can use the desk for someone else. Then we went to lunch followed by Putt Putt (team building crap thing) but I just ate then called DH to come pick me up. We went to a local pub for a drink before coming home - 3 glasses of wine and I'm a little bit pissed :)

I cried at leaving work - I was just really getting in to it again. Maybe I can do peer reivews of the other people's programming code from home to keep my hand in. Never mind - I might just relax again and make sure I get some acupuncture for the hot flushes - I keep putting it off. There's no point in trying to work through surgery/rads as the income protection will pay me anyway, so why should I try. It's so good I have it.

    Have a lovely weekend!!!!

Whoa, whoa, whoa...did I miss a posting?  Sue:  you have to do rads again?  After the Lumpec?  I guess maybe I hadn't thought about that.

Work today, so I'll check in later.  Nette

(((Sue))) You are in our thoughts and prayers, I am still in shock that this has happened to you and all I know to say is "that sucks, real big suckage".

My PET came out OK, no new increases, everything that glows is attributed to the radiation. Clyde is weeping, maybe he is crying for Bonnie. Big Onc was pleased to say "I told you so, I knew that spot wouldn't heal after a biopsy". So, Big Onc gets credit for that one.

Sue: Things are still going well with the beau. The kids have not met him, but they know about him and they seem OK that he exists. Perhaps after Thanksgiving, I will have him over to the house to meet the kids. We are planning on an especially dysfunctional holiday with my Mom and my siblings, so I don't see any point in involving him in all that mess. He seems thrilled with that!

I am allowing myself to feel a little optimistic, maybe the Herceptin will keep the beast at bay. Onc said all chnages on the scan are due to rads, so.....

Do the ladies from Australia and Canada celebrate anything next week?

I'm glad you are still seeing him. Give it time and it will all work out - I just know it!!!

We do not celebrate Thanksgiving - we have enough holidays as it is.

I'm noticing the effect of not taking my fish oil - aches everywhere. I stopped before the biopsy as I remembered the surgeon last year asking if I took it. I told the surgeon on Thursday and she said that was good as it will make her job a lot easier.

I've been outside dabbling in the garden - didn't do much but did plant out a bromeliad I had in a pot. I have my sights on another garden I want to clean up but can't be bothered today. I'll have plenty of time while I'm off work. We just got our green bin delivered. We already have 2 garbage bins - one for general waste, one for recycling and now a green one!!! It will be emptied every other week starting in January - I bet I fill it all the time. Other big cities have had them for years and we were slow to get them.

    Have a great weekend girls!!!

Brenda - now you've gone and made me cry again. You are all so special.

Hey, I had a great idea, if I had any money - I could come over and meet you all. Money is the big blocker there though - maybe one day. As I've said before, I don't have a sister and you are all the little sisters I never had - I love you guys.

Yahoo - it worked!!!! The node lit up straight away - the girl was a genius. She got me to massge my breast and underarm and do chicken like arm flaps for about 10 minutes. The first pic she took showed the node no problem. Boy did I make a good choice going there this time. 6 hours in that crappy place last year got me freaked out and they still didn't get it to light up. I was home in 2 hours.

    Thanks for the hugs girls!!!!
