I read the mammogram report
So, I decided to read the mammogram report from my 2 hour mammogram on Tuesday---
don't have it with me- but essentially .5-.8 mm mass with calcifications-- intermediate suspicious....
I am meeting with the breast surgeon tomorrow- I think she is going to recommend a needle loc biopsy--- fine with me.....
Preparing for the worst--- went to the wig store at the hospital--- decided if I have to do that again, going to get a completely different look.....
I am going to push to have the surgery done before Thanksgiving. It takes forever for these pathology reports at this hosptial but I do love the surgeon so I am willing to wait.....
I find it hard to believe that this is anything, and that they are being overly cautious. Even the radiologist at the mammogram said" I don't think this is cancer", but with my history, I know they will want to take itout.
I have to say, I am going to be really pissed off if it is cancer-- after all the treatment, drugs, etc. I cannot believe that anything could grow in my body.
but, it is what it is..... I cannot change it, can only hope for the best while preparing for the worst.

Wait until they biopsy it, before you get ahead of yourself, although I'm thinking similar things. "I've just gone through it all - I can do it again" type thoughts. My biopsy is scheduled for Monday and then the waiting will start. Meanwhile, I'm quite calm, nothing I can do to hurry it up. If it turns out we both or either of us have a new primary or recurrence, well, it's great they found it before it got bigger - that's my mantra and I'm sticking to it!!!! I am with you--- I am not going to let something that is .5mm rule my life. Last time I just retreated during the diagnostic phase--didn't go out, just went to work and came home. Not this time...... it is what it is...I will deal with it.....
good luck on the biopsy--what kind are you having?
I will know more tomorrow after I meet with the surgeon.

I wish you both nothing but good news.

I'm having a core needle mammo guided one and an ultrasound guided one on the other spot. The bigger spot doesn't show on ultrasound. The second spot doesn't show on mammogram. The worst for me will be waiting for the pathology on it. My DH is a total mess but he has had primary and secondary bowel cancer, so he's extra sensitive to all of this crap.
We've been studying my films from last year and I swear this spot is on there and it looks very similar to this year's films. The compression is slightly different so they don't match when superimposed but I think it's promising because if it was cancer and was there last year the chemo would definitely have knocked it on the head, so that makes me think it might not be cancer. Anyway, we're not radiologists so we'll have to wait, but it's helping me remain positive.
DH wants my onc to see the films but I don't see him until the 17th. He's an expert at reading scans etc. But I'll have the results before then anyway.
Hope you can get your biopsy scheduled a little quicker than me. Makes me cross to think I refused the biopsy last Friday after the MRI and now am waiting for the phone to ring to get the time. I did want to discuss with the surgeon first however.
Keep in touch.

Sue,
Turns out that surgeon does not think this is cancer- but she is going to take it out and do pathology--- I have so much faith in her and her expertise, I just calmed right down. She said the only reason I was there was because the mammogram people just did not know what it was and they had to pass it along.... but no one thinks it is cancer....
So, I hope for similar good news for you. I will have the surgical procedure sometime in the next few weeks.....

Great news!!! 10am Monday for my biopsy. As I said before - going by my MRI probably benign - here's hoping.
