Ahoy Divas - Please check out our latest Happy Hour event this Monday at One Eyed Mikes - details are on our facebook page!
Please join us and channel your inner pirate diva with me!

Hi Kim,
I want to stay involved but some of us don't do facebook and can't get to the events announcement on the facebook page without being members. Can you still post info here? Thanks! BTW, the website is great and I like what you way about REALLY supporting breast cancer. Licking yogurt tops - gross!
BTW, breastcancer.org has Baltimore roots - Marisa Weiss, the founder, is from here. Here's a link to her announcement about her own battle with breast cancer. http://www.breastcancer.org/about_us/press_room/press_kit/video/mw_message.jsp

Hi Carolyn - I am so sorry that I did not post complete details here - I usually do but yesterday I must have been brain dead.
We have 2 events coming up next week:
Monday - Happy Hour at One Eyed Mikes. They are located at 708 S Bond Street in the Fells Point Part of Town. They are the world's first Grand Marnier bar - We will meet there from 5pm until whenever. You can look at their menu on their website www.oneeyedmikes.com - they were a big supporter of the recent BreastFest and get what we are doing.
Thursday - Wine Tasting at Marie Louise Bistro. They are located at 904 N Charles Street in the Mount Vernon section of the City. Starting at 6pm - we taste 3 wines with complimentary hors d'oeuvres all for $10.00 -
Thought these might be fun for us.....
Hope you will be able to join us and thank you again for the reminder to make sure I post our events everywhere we are.
Thanks for the info of Dr. Weiss - did not know about her roots and I am going to reach out to her about the major event that we are looking at doing in May. You are awesome...Kim

Good morning Divas - we are cancelling both the Happy Hour for tonight and the Wine Tasting set for Thursday. We are working to reschedule them for later in November. I know that it was short notice to put them out there and I apologize and we just did not get the response that would have made a fun event.
But, rest assured, we are already hard at work lining up our events for November and a very special one that will include your families.
Have a great day divas and I will post more information here later. Kimberly

Here's a great article from Sunday's New York Times Magazine. I'm so happy October is over. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/14/magazine/14FOB-wwln-t.html?ref=magazine

Remember a few months ago I told you ladies (at least some of you) that I was going to be in the BCO 10th anniversary film? Well, it is finally complete and the link is below.
I guess this uses up a few of my 15 min of fame. Just disregard the wrinkles in my neck please!

Good afternoon divas! Thanks to a very generous donor/friend who wishes to remain anonymous, we have received 5 bags of clothes. They are sizes 10 and 12's and while there are some nice looking jeans, it is largely work appropriate attire - slacks, skirt suits, shirts that sort of thing.
Our friend was very clear that these clothes had to be offered to the breast cancer divas first and anything that was left over could be donated.
Some of these clothes still have tags on them - Harve Bernard, NY & Company, etc.
Please email me if you are interested in the clothes - I also understand that there are more clothes coming.

The focus is on healing and wellness with topics such as Yoga Nidra, Accupressure, Spirituality, Telling One's Story through Art. Perhaps a group can drive down together? The info is listed under "Free DC Workshops for Breast Cancer Survivors". Please feel free to email nmeyer@mfa.gwu.edu or call 202-741-3158 for more info or just drop by.
