THE 2ND TA TAS SISTERHOOD REUNION IN VEGAS!!
Comments
-
Laura - I think it is the menopause thing - I cry all the time (happy and sad tears).
Whew......the ladies are GONE! I have 15 minutes and then leave to get my hair highlited. Dinner is left overs from lunch! Just need to come home, pack and get on BCO for the rest of the night!
I am going to have a really hard time falling asleep tonight - I am too excited about this trip!
-
I love what Hood said
Laura we all love you and can't wait to see you again
ok I better pack
reminder lets not forget our meds for the gals taking them
especially our birth control : )
we don't need any surprises 2 months down the road lol
-
Birth control...I remember that...it was a long time ago, but I remember!!
-
this place has really gotten quiet....I guess everyone is busy packing
-
Hey, everybody, I can be kind of a "wall flower", so if you see me sitting there "not being friendly" feel free to jump right over, give me a great big HUG!, and tell me who you are ... and with chemo brain I'll forget so you will have to tell me again, and again, and again .... (oh, I hope I don't make a fool of myself, but it is Vegas, and that is the norm here)
I will be in "western" outfit, probably a cowgirl hat, black, for the first night ... starting to get excited!
Sherrie
-
Sooooo jealous....wish I had made plans to come to Vegas....will be thinking of you all:)
Have a wonderful time!
-
Sherri - I know most people won't believe this but I am a little bit shy for a couple of hours - I get major panic attacks right before meeting a group - no matter what kind of group it is and then I settle down for the rest of the weekend. Last year the day I flew out I had my last radiation treatment so I was as ditzy as they get because of chemo fog. I still have major chemo brain and I have never been good at remembering people's names but I will remember their phone numbers.
I haven't packed yet, just got back from the salon and printed out my boarding pass, etc. Now I need to go through the PM's and write down all the info on the ladies in Group 2.
I came home and my computer was DOWN! I was freaking out. In fact last night I was thinking that I shouldn't wait until the last minute to pull all the info together in case my computer goes down - dang I need to listen to my gut more often!
-
Sherrie
I will be looking for the gal in the western outfit and I will give you a big hug. Also don't worry about forgetting names because there are just too many names to remember anyway. We will have name tags and I hope everyone wears them everytime we go out....LOL
jancie, how does your hair look?....did you get your pedi?....I cannot believe you have a shy bone in your body......when I get nervous I can be a jabber box
-
Linda54 - my hair is to my collar - almost the same color as yours and I have bangs also. No, I didn't get my pedi. I walked into the salon - went to the restroom and walking through the door I caught my big toenail on my sandel of my other foot and pulled it back - Oooowwwwww. So now my toes look really bad but heck - who is going to be looking at my feet anyways?
Yes, I am shy - you have to pull me out of my shell but once you do that - it is PARTY time! Of course a couple of drinks and that always helps!
-
I really should be upstairs packing - I am such a last minute person at this. I decided to run a small load of laundry for my dh to fold and put up over the weekend while I am gone. Haaahhhhahhahhah - yeah right - in my dreams!
If anyone has Katey's or Val61 phone number - please PM me - they are arriving in the 2nd group. I sent them PM's but don't know if this late in the game if they will even see them.
-
Where are my playmates????? Why is nobody here to play with me???? Wahhhhhhhhhh.
No, I am not packed. Can't bring myself to do it yet - want to play instead but everyone is gone.
-
Well, not gone but in Vegas mentally...Girl, get a move on!! You can't go if you are not packed!!
And you can't meet ME if you are not ready!!! So GO, PACK,,Be Done. then I'll play with you for a bit...JUDY
-
I AM HERE!!!!!!
All checked in and enjoying a glass of Chardonnay from the free bottle (you get several choices) that they gave me. Love you Traceyz, Giselle and Laura!!! Hopefully I didn't spoil any surprises.
Drat! Forgot the birth control. Didn't read that post in time. Good thing we didn't schedule a trip to "Thunder Down Under" to my knowledge anyway....
Anyway, the rooms and bathrooms are HUGE!!!!! Seriously HUGE for Vegas standards. Well unless you are the ones that they give the penthouses to . . . . .
Looking forward to meeting the early arrivers tonight. Think I will go down to the casino and get my bearings as soon as I make sure my post-surgery husband is okay. If you would do me a favor this weekend and ask me now and then if I have checked on him it will most likely save my marriage . . . . . See you soon!!!
Colleen

jancie...get off the computer and go pack....we can play all weekend
I am headed to bed....I will post in the morning before I leave for the airport.
See you all tomorrow and you have my prayers for safe flights
-
Jancie we are two shy gals that have blossomed. Growing up I was always the quite one but started to grow out of my shell a few years ago. I love having a lot of friends and giving hugs to my friends.
I have a few things to pack yet and should try to get a little rest. My flight is at 6:19 and airport 2 hours away so need to get up about 2 if I get to sleep at all
OK gals a up date on my mom... after sharing good news about scans they decided to do a ultrasound and biopsy of her nodgule in her thyroid. Happy to say she found out Tues her results were good news. She had her 3rd chemo treatment last Wed. Sunday - today she had really bad diarea. She didn't call the doctors till last night. She went up today and had to get iv's for several hours. She forgot her doc said not to let it go more than a day. Just too much for mom to remember and I didn't know it was going on that long or I would have told her to go sooner. I just took some ensure down to her and happy to say my parents had cash on hand since the atm would only give me $200. I was afraid I would be eating bread crumbs.
-
Ok, I am packed! I am assuming the hotel has hair dryers? I am going to bring one so that we have two between all four of us in the room. It will make it faster for all of us to get ready. I don't think I have exceeded my weight limit on my suitcase.
Sandy - glad that your mom's scan results were good!
Judy - I need to go watch a couple of shows before dh decides to delete them and then I will be back on and off until midnight mountain time.
My flight leaves at 11 am so I will be leaving the house around 9 am. Depending on how early I get up - I might be back here in the morning but knowing me.....more than likely not!
-
Also there are safes and I don't see a mini-bar so I will seek out a maxi-bar!!!!
Colleen
-
Just checked. Yes, there is a hair dryer.
Get here already!!!!!
Colleen
-
Colleen thanks for passing info our way
I'm so excited to meet everybody
-
See you tomorrow!!! I have an early flight & the airport is 2 hours away!!! Look out Vegas....HERE WE COME!
-
Colleen--Oh the rooms sound great!! Can't wait to see mine! That's the way Jancie...all packed..YAY!!!
Going to go dream of meeting some wonderful women..dream to come true very soon..JUDY
-
OK...a little panicy here...I just checked the McCarran Airport map & there are 9 Starbucks!!! Which one are we meeting at????
-
Go downstairs to baggage claim area. You will see turnstyles on both your right and left hand side as you come down the stairs. If you go down to the center of the baggage claim area where the bags come out on your left and right - you will see Starbucks right in the middle on the left hand side. So until you walk towards the back exit you won't see it as you are coming down the escalator from your flight area to baggage claim area.
Check and see if you see that one on your map.
-
Don't panic Hood - I will be around here tonight if you need more help! I am going to take a night walk in about one hour with a local neighbor - yes we are walking at 9:30 pm tonight but it doesn't matter because my dh is working until midnight and she is out playing tennis right now.
-
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS FOR GETTING US MORE EXCITED COLLEEN!!!!!
I just finished making dinner and our tummys are full. So now I can focus...of course my suitcase is packed but there are last minute IMPORTANT items I need to remember for my other carry on.
Oh yeah...I wanted to chime in here...I'm also one of those shy people........
-
Thanks Janice!!! I see the Starbucks in the Baggage claim area!!!! Hope you have a nice walk! We're under a flood warning here!!!
-
Jazzy - LMAO - who are you kidding? Shy? Ladies don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth
Hood - glad I could be of assistance. I was also in a panic last year because I kept seeing them as I was walking towards baggage claim that I called Estepp on her cell phone and asked her which one!
This is the main reason I gave all of the ladies in group #2 my cell phone number in case they got lost!
I still would like to have Val61 and Katey's cell phone numbers - I got their flight numbers but not their cell phone numbers. Chemo brain - I forgot who is doing the laminated cell numbers but whichever gal you are - can you PM me with those?
I figured I wouldn't get much sleep tonight so a walk would be good for me. I did remember to pack my meds so the only thing left is my hairbrush and blow dryer in the morning.
I am way too excited!!! The way I am acting dh is wondering if he should be "concerned" about me misbehaving - too much drinking, etc. I told him that I behave well enough that I don't need to be carried to my room at night
-
