Hello everyone.
It's good to see Barb, nancy, Shirlann, Wren, Cathi and everyone else. There have been several things going on reccently. Let me see:
1. I;m not good at giving speeches - I get so nervous and my mouth runs away wth me. Then I say stuff that is stupid. It was suppose to be a fun speech but I think I got carried away.
2. I got my nipple reconstruction done. I''m not sure if there is something wrong with them or what I wish I knew what they where suppose o look like.
3. My son graduated high school and should be signing up with the army soon.
4. cathi, as of 9-16-2010, or CPS case was officially closed and the kids all exceppt Connor are back with their mom.
5. Most importantly - I have decided that I will not bring work home any more and I will do what I can while at work. I took last week off and I ended up with reconstruction one day and working either at hoe or went into the office to work.
Going to bed, XOXOXOXOXO to eeryone.

((((Nancy)))....boy do I know exactly where you are coming from. For a minute there...I thought you were viewing MY life, in MY house...and repeating it!! haha...I think adult children are so much more difficult! Big kids...BIG problems!! I agree with Barbe (by the way..like your new pic Barbe). I think you need to step back, and when he is ready to talk, and tell you WHAT the hell is bothering him, he will. In the mean time...he obviously has some issues, and they probably really have nothing to do with what you may have done or said. It's more than likely "several things" and they are combinations of what his father told him, his issues with moving, and with his sister, and your "lack" of parenting her! I have heard those same things from my eldest about how I "didn't parent" her younger sisters. She finally came around and understood later. I too, allow Olivia to do much more at 19, then the other two. I think that's natural. You are a good mother..and your son will come around.
Leesa...are you feeling better? Less tired? I have been exhausted since I got back from Chicago..unsure why..but no energy!! Just enough to make it to work everyday.
Wren...good to see you!!! My hysterectomy was somewhat the same procedure as yours. But my one "small" incision, was done over my large one (from my tram-flap) and he had his students sew me up!! Well..what once was a very nice smooth scar..is now puckered! GRRRRRR...oh well. For me...the hardest surgery was the TRAM!! Of course..it's huge! Happy healing sweetie!
SHIRLANNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOSH....GREAT TO SEE YOU MY DEAR!! HAPPY 75TH! HOW IS WALT DOING?? COME BACK MORE OFTEN...MISS YOU!
Chicago was great!!! I have some pics on facebook...but will be putting up more!
back to work...
xoxo

Thanks, Lisa.
I finally spoke with my son, and the story came out that he was being hounded by a collection agency over his credit card debt. Seems, he just didn't make the connection that when you don't have a job and only have erratic income, you can't run up your card to the max and let it sit. They WILL come after you.
So after we spoke about how to handle things in the future, I paid off his card so he can start fresh. After his move, we'll determine a payback plan of this loan (interest-free, long-term).
This is the last bailout he gets from me, though.
-
Nancy,
Wow...see, it really had NOTHING to do with you! He was just under pressure and fustrated...and of course...the one person they can take everything out on is dear old mom!
Glad things are worked out. I am sure he appreciates all that you have done for him, including this one!
xoxo

I have some great news, I got my severance package today and went out and bought a new laptop! My son helped me pick it out and get things set up on it.
Nancy, I know the feeling your son had with credit card companies coming after you for unpaid bills. We went through that when my dh was laid off 8 years ago. We ended up with them filing judgements against us and we are slowly paying them off.
Sheila
-
Great news Sheila!! Your son is such a doll, helping you get the right one and setting it up! Enjoy that laptop!!!
-
Dear Wren hope you are feeling better as each day passes. Shelia GREAT NEWS. And of coarse Lisa so happy you are happy - ARE YOU PRACTICING SAFE SEX DEAR - LOL.
Leesa , WOW as always you have a plate full, I know the feeling only too well. DD & SIL go to court on Tuesday for the criminal charges (posession and him battery) Amanda has spoke with her appointed attprney who along with the states attorney have offered to move her charge from criminal to drug court, this would be a 12/mo-24mo program, strict ffollowing and much more intense DRUG CLASSES , however if she completes this she would have a completely CLEAN RECORD as far as FELONY DRUG POSESSION goes, SIL don't know if he will get same offer as you must be a first time offender non violent (honestly I could care less what they do to him) he just continues to make my skin crawl.
Jaclyn and I had to have a long talk, she gets upset that Ed and I still show or feel concern for Amanda, I guess somehow she thinks we should be DONE WITH HER , I know Jaclyn is just concerned and worried for us, but had to explain that n matter what a mother does not stop caring, loving, and praying that their child will be OK,
On 10/4 we all go back to DCF court for a review, the case worker is not very happy at all, they have not paid on penny either by court order or just our of being parents to the children, they are not keeping a lot of their visits with Ella and Landen, she is kinda pissed and said that she hopes they don't think they can just go through the motions - with these classes and then get the kids back - THAT WON'T HAPPEN. Having Ella in daycare has been such a huge help, mot feeling quite so tired. But I did have an Onco visit and he is pissed at me - really read me the riot act - and I guess I deserved it, have stopped taking my pain meds and taking mega doses of Tylenol again to avoid being loopy and groggy, he point blank told me - well then CANCER is not going to kill you if you keep this up - your kidneys are going to fail - I guess my blood work was pretty bad. Gonna go back this week, he's trying me on lower dose and see how it works for a week.
UGH - HAPPY SUNDAY ALL
-
Cathi you poor baby. It only takes 8 tylenol to shut down your liver. When I needed pain meds Tuesday I wouldn't take them because they have Tylenol in them. I had a cousin who commited suicide, she was a nurse and had strong cardiac drugs and everyone assumed that they were what she had od'd on but the toxicology showed she had used Tylenol. Please be careful, we all love you too much to lose you like that. Darla
-
Thanks Darla, I know I gotta cut back the tylenol and have done much better again this week. I started taking my Flexaril again at bedtime, it doesn't really help with the hip/back pain but it does help with the nasty TWINGES that run down my leg.
Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. Landen got his first ROAD RASH today big time, did face first across the patio - looks nasty - just great when he see's case worker Monday at school - but we had company and lots of people to tell what happened. YIKES.
-
Oh Cathi such poor timing!!! it's so bad it's funny......hehehehheheehhehe I'm sorry, it's me!!
-
It's ok Barbe, I LOVE YOUR HUMOR - XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX I wasn't even home when it happened, Ed was here and Jaclyn and her family, I went out to the store, I walked in the house kinda funny now, I guess Ed and Jaclyn knew I would FREAK OUT , they were telling me how BAD IT WASN'T before they would even let me look at him. Good thing is though the teachers right off when he went into school today knew before we said anything how he did it - his poor little face is pretty messed up.
Congrats missy on the 2nd new Grandson in just weeks- thats awesome. Pictures - pictures - pictures - PLEASE.

Hello my loves
God so many of you going through so much!
Fingers crossed for the court hearing Cathi, I think Amanda is getting off lightly and hope she takes full advantage of the drug courses!!!! God, prescription drugs are dangerous enough as we all know too well. How's work? Please don't do too much. Time for a gentle pace of life my dear! DITTO Leesa!!!!!!!
Barbe, do you have 2 grandchildern?? WOW, isn't it just the best thing when babies arrive? Wee Lilly is bouncing away, almost walking!!! She and her mum were up for Amy's christening, which went beautifully. Amy is the most conented wee soul and her dad is a hero! She is out of hospital and is normal size and weight now. Wee thing still need special, high protein/calorie milk nasogastrically, but she also takes normal formula. I will post some more pics - sometimes it works and sometimes it don't ...
Shiela, enjoy your severance pay and don't hesitate to do a wee bit of self-spoiling! Enjoy your new laptop (I'm a bit of a gadget freak myself. Love my toys! I have got the new Nokia X6 and just love it!) Actually I should bluetooth pics to my wee netbook. That should be simpler.. Good luck too on the job hunt and try not to get too stressed.
Nancy, so the mystry is solved! It's somewhere we have all been at some point, I had an Amex many years ago and had a small debt on it, but my job ended very suddenly (it was Government funded and our funding agency was replaced without warning) It cost £1m per annum to run and we had no time to secure alternative funding. We were a charity and I had 20 odd staff. It was heartbreaking and the small debt loomed SOOOOO large. It took me a year to pay it off. Mind you, it was a good old lesson ... What a good mum you are! Any news on the job you were interviewed for??
To all you ladies facing hysterecoties (so many of you!) I hope the treatment is not too awful. Why are so many of you faced with this? Is it cancer related? I don't know of many folk here faced with this. I wonder if "current wisdom" varies from the US and the UK ....
Well, gor my last (I think) appoointment with my Onc consultand on Thursay. The results from last mammo were within normal range, even though the boob itself is hard and inflamed - even now. I am getting quite a bit of grief from the diverticulitis, been throwing up too. i am trying to manage it but cannot identify any triggers. Had some great days lately though and lovely days out to the Ayrshire coast and the close highlands (we have some Munros, hills over 3000 meters, within an hour of Glasgow so journey not too taxing) Wish I could go hillwalking - the views are wonderful!
I spoke to Devin on Facebook yesterday! I only go on every few days so it was great catching up. Judie, he is such a pet! Hope he just jumps on a budget flight and visits soon!
Well loves, great hearing from you all. Cuddles to each and every one of you!!!!

Nettie I am enjoying having a little money in the bank right now. Monday night as I was trying to leave my quilt guild meeting, my car's ignition went 'click, click, click', I turned off the key and tried it again and it started. I made it home and had John check my battery. I have had problems in the past with my battery terminals corroding but the battery tested fine about 6 months ago. John removed the corrosion and I said I would go on Tuesday to get a new battery. After he left for class yesterday, I went out to go to the store and my car refused to start, battery was dead as a doornail. I had to wait for him to get home and boost my battery. Needless to say I spent money on my battery, as well as some work clothes for Donald.
Cathi, I think the teachers can identify when there has been abuse and when the child just had a normal childhood fall. Although the pictures on FB look pretty bad.
Sunday when I was doing my weekly unemployment recording I checked on the ESC site and saw a job posting with a description exactly what I was doing. I sent an electronic message to the ESC to call me about the job. Monday afternoon (4:00 pm) my phone rang although it was in the other room, by the time I picked it up, the call had gone to voice mail. It was the ESC calling about my request. I called right back and left a message. By the time they called me back, yesterday at 3:30 pm the company had received 200 applications and closed the application window. I know that the Lord will provide me a job when the time is right.

Hi ladies!
Well, I didn't get the position I interviewed for within my company...so I revert to Plan A which was in effect before this opportunity came along...house hunting. But I'm probably going to go a little further west and north from NYC to try and boost my purchasing power. Anything close to where I am now seems a little small or a little too run down. I've got my eye on a few places that I saw online, so maybe in a few days I'll contact an agent and take a look at them in person. I'll let you know how things go.
-
Plan B sounds just as exciting as Plan A did! I love change like that. Less pressure for you at this point and once you get settled in your new digs you can pursue other options. Congrats!

Hello all
I wanted to stop and remember all you my breast cancer friends and my other friends. I wanted to say thank you to my friends on this site, the nurses and my family members who stood beside me and assisted when I needed them the most. I would like to ask for prayers for a dear friend's family. he was a mom, a friend, a sister, a wife and most of all she died doing what she loved best - nursing and taking care of thse who were hurt or sick as well as their family members. She was at work and jhad just checked in a patient into one of the emergency room exam room. She walked out of the patients room after checking the in and she collapsed in the doorway and her day time family/co-workers had to code her. She did work in the cath lab as well as her heart doctor, who happened to be working in the cath lab that day. A they were coding her she was transferred to the cath lab to see if they cold get her heart back sadly they could not. Not only did the nurses, doctors and co-workers n the emergency room tried to get her back so did the cath lab doctors, nurses and co-workers. My husband was one of those co-workers in the cath lab and he said everyone was taking it very hard in both department because she was "one of their own." She had a heart transplant at least 10 years ago and was put back on the heart transplant and was awaiting a heart. She was either 42 or 45. Please remember the staff at the hospita as well as her family. She has two young children one of which I believe is either a senior or junior in high school. She was truly an awesome person who loved life and taking care of people. Thank you for listening. Please say a a prayer for my husband also, this has hit him very hard. He's real quiet and not sleeping. He said he felt like he failed her because he was one of the nurse's who worked on her. I told him no matter what anyone does when it's your time to go there is nothing that an be done no matter how hard you try because it's God's decision who goes and who dies. Make the most of what you have, whose in your life, and most of all tell the one's you love that you do love them everday whether you want to or not. Always look for the positive in every thing that happens. I love you all,
Leesa Davis

I'm sorry Leesa,
What a shock to your hubby and all his co-workers. In the blink of an eye things can change.
I will keep them all in my prayers.
Thinking of all our dear sisters here and their families.
Hugs!
-

Leesa...I am so sorry. What a shock, and your words at the end...are so true. Something to remember EVERY day! My prayers are with you, your husband, this dear angel and her family and her family at the hospital as well. Hugs to you dear friend!
xoxo

Leesa, you are all bundled up in my prayers tonight. You top the list. God Bless.
-
Oh Leesa. That is just so sad. I'm so sorry. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew and loved her.
Hugs,
Karen
-
Leesa, I am so sorry. Like Cathi said, life is a mystery. And unfair. And ruthless. It always seems to be the decent, good folk who are striken doesn't it? Prayers for you pet, your family and te family of the nurse (THE ABSOLUTE HEROS OF THE WORLD) who died doing what she did best. Godbless and hugs to yo all.
Nets xx
-

Hugs, Terry
///(*_*)\\
-
Leesa.......so sad to have read your post. The family and co-workers will be in my prayers.
Hugs,
Terry
-
Leesa, why would a nurse give up his job in this day and age? How scary is that? You can die doing pretty much anything, your profession doesn't really dictate the risk. Think of the people in the towers.....
-
Oh, Terry, how true it is. The thread has had a life of its own and follows so many stories, and such twists and turns. Whew!
Sisters, I have been so utterly fatigued that I just haven't posted much. I read every day and feel your joy and pain. I so hope that energy returns. It seems to be related to the autoimmune stuff. Not bootface, thank goodness! Had a bit of a scare with my thyroid. Some nodules showed up. Had a FNA, all B9!!! So happy.
Nettie, you have been in my thoughts so much. Every day is a challenge for you yet you are right there for everyone else. Whip that colon into shape as soon as possible and take especial care of yourself. I'm going to Walla Walla on the 21st for opening night of the play for which Devin is creating the set as his senior project. So excited! The next night is an improv performance that he is in, so I'll be staying over in his party house. Fun!
Sheila, I gain strength every time I read your posts. Your attitude is strong and positive no matter what. I know there is a job out there for you that is just right. Until then, enjoy your new computer and do some quilting!
Nancy, I'm sorry you didn't get chosen, but you, too, inspire me with your attitude. Good luck on the house hunting!
Leesa, my heart is with you and the others who are grieving. What a painful experience. Sending tons of hugs to everyone involved.
Lisa, it is heartwarming to read your ongoing love story. I'm sure there have been a few bumps in the road, but you both seem to have your eye on the future and don't let them throw you. Blessings.
Barbe, how exciting to be inundated with babies! You remain an inspiration and source of strength wherever you go.
Cathi, I know how hard things are for you. You are one tough cookie, but just how much does it take to make the cookie crumble? I pray that things ease up far before that point. Until then, you have my shoulder anytime you need it. Big hugs to the whole gang!
Wren, glad your surgery is in the past and hope things get better soon!
Well, I'm well and truly out of gas. Boring words, I'm afraid, but just had to let everyone know I'm here and love you so much. Sue is having her hysterectomy/oophorectomy surgery in a few hours. Send prayers and thoughts her way.
-
I appreciate all of the prayers. The nurse that quit the cath lab here took job in Dallas aat a larger hospital nd will be working with adults and pediatric. I think the death of the nurse due to a congential defect pushed him into accepting the position beause he wanted to make things better for the pediatrics that are or will go through some of the things this nurse did throughout her life.
Se I will keep you i my prayers. Judy I pray for more strength for you. I hope you have fun with Dein's play. Nancy, chin up and keep going How is the apartment hunting going?
Sheila you are the woman. You do have a positive attitude which is refreshing.
Wren, Thank you for your prayers.
Lisa, your love story is better than a book or a movie It's fun and nice to see someone so happy.
Cathi, you to are an inspiration even though you have alot going on in your life, you don't let your cancer interfere, you have shown me that you have to take care of what's yours (this children) and put your personal feelings aside (until they are at daycare and you can pamper yourself).
This group of ladis and our 1 gentleman, are the strongest and most generous, loving and caring group of people I know. I ppciate each and every one of you.
I would like to ask for "unspoken prayers" for my family.
Leesa
-
Leesa, what a legacy to the poor nurse that someone else is expanding their career to hopefully stop what happened to her...
No one's words are boring as long as they start new paragraphs every once in a while!
