Up and about today. Very sore. Just took a happy pill and now I'm feeling groggy. PS appt this AM @11. He's sooo pleased. I have taken pics, but will post when not feeling so woozie.
Question--should I start a new topic or just post on my original title? Not sure what I should do.
Hubby is a happy camper!
The implants are fully round and not a whole heck of alot projection. He put some gauze in my sprots bra. And this morning he said it's too big (36D), but he had no 34's. It's comfortable, though. I'm just glad no drains. See him again Tuesday sometime for him to take off the bandaids.
I am sooooo happy with the results. BC side is a bit lower, but really not that noticeable. So far no rippling, but would it show up this early? Hurt when I got out of bed this morning....whoosh, all fall down. No bruising right now either.
So far so good. My sis and hubby are on their way here from Hilton Head. Yay. Can't wait to see her.

Kate: LOL!!! Test drive indeed!
horsegal: I am a uni, and I am still waiting for my MX side to catch up, drop and fluff so that it matches my right side. I have heard some women comment that it took 3 months for this to happen with theirs, so I am just biding my time and waiting to see when it will happen.
vmudrow: You are in really good hands with Whippetmom: the size she recommended for me look as if I were born with them. Perfect in every way for my body! And they are soooo soft!!!
tnbcRuth: I am so sorry that you had to deal with infections. That must be very frustrating for you. I am finding that I am having the best luck with the VS bras, too. All of their soft cups don't come in my size, so I have to use 2 different sizes, but they both seem to work! sorry about the pancreatitis--that must be awful. I have gone completely organic and if there are more then 5 ingredients in anything else, I just don't eat it anymore! I've learned that I just feel so much better on supplents and a healthier diet.

We have to be pro-active in our care--everyone else is too busy and overwhelmed to provide the kind of personal care we all need. We are truly the only ones that "know" our bodies anyway! Hope you heal up quickly!

happymom- I think my brain is still waking up. I thought you were saying your PS thought your boobs were too big (36D) but that he didn't bring 34's into the OR! I was thinking WTH? Then I realized you were talking about your sports bra! LOL! Don't worry about the lack of projection. That comes with the drop and fluff. This is the squashed hamburger bun stage you're in now.
MBJ- I like the 5 ingredient or less style of living! I think I'll adopt that!
-
Thankyou ladies for all your kind comments and words of encouragement!! I have had a loooong wait and finally~that light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer!

No i still dont know a definate size and yes i'll just wait and see what i wake up with! ha ha
looking fwd to soft boobies i can tell you that! =D
-
Kate, hurahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jizo garden, we've PMd... I am sorry to hear of your heart issues, but it sounds like you are on the mend my dear.
MBJ, I get a yearly MRI as I still have my other boob and the mammo missed this cancer completely. For monitoring of implants, they like to check them every two or three years for leaks.
Ladies, on a different topic, I am sending over a sweet young lady, who is in her early 20s and frightened by some breast changes and pain....she has seen several drs., had a negative U/S, all of whom have told her not to worry. She's worried. I reccomended she see a breast surgeon as her nipple is slightly inverted and this is new. JIC. She is from the Chicago area, and looking for the name of a good BS there. Any reccs? She could use some warm cyber hugs, reassurances and some names.
thank you my darlings.
love
annie
happy mom, no peeking

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this community and am very impressed with the wealth of information posted here. I wish I had found it a bit sooner. I just had my exchange surgery two weeks ago, and as I've seen many others post, I am not 100% satisfied. It sounds like I need to give it more time based on what I have read. One issue is that I am slightly lopsided, which was a problem the PS was supposed to fix. The other issue is that they look slightly smaller than the expander did. My PS said the plan was to make them as big as possible, but it doesn't look like that was done. Does anyone know if the dropping and fluffing also applies to saline implants? My PS said I should not see any change in the way the implants look (which after reading this board doesn't sound right). Also, for those who have had revisions, does insurance always cover it?
Thanks in advance!
-
m-star (and everyone else)- Make sure you PM mykidsmom and get your exchange dates on the post on the top. It's too hard to keep track of everybody!
JT124- Just wanted to say welcome. I'm not very familiar with the saline implants but I'm sure someone will come along to help. If not, PM whippetmom as she is our resident implant whisperer/guru/ expert and I'm sure she can help you.

Quick question needing a quick answer...someone posted that they had used a 100% natural hair color from Whole Foods. My friend picked up 2 kinds from there today and I want to be sure they're ok. What threw me off, is they are both permanent. I was thinking they would be semi-perm. One is Naturcolor - a 'herbal based haircolor gel...no ammonia, no resorcinol. The other is Naturtint -organic ingredients certified - No ammonia, resourcinol or parabens. What ingredient am I trying to avoid? I'm going from a mousy brown/grey to either Cinnamon blonde or Terracotta Blonde. I have never had red hair, and I think it will be fun. Thanks!
-
whoops, the new girls' thread is titled "early 20s and very frightened..." hope she shows up
Ruth, I used the naturtint....but man, no matter what they wrote, that baby is NOT free of amonia...you can certainly smell it when you use it. It reeked of it.
You'd be better of using one of the semi permanent ones from l'oreal or clairol that work in 10 minutes. That all natch one lied about the amonia. I used it for five years tho, and it is pretty. I used golden blonde which came out red.
Have fun! (but don't be fooled, they aren't natural in any way except for adding some vegetable ingredients to them)
-
hm, also Ruth, in europe, they can write "certified organic" and it does not have to be...they mean that the organic ingredients do not have any parabens, resourcinol, or amonia. The developer does.
I had a chemist buddy test it for amonia...yup. don't know about the other stuff.
-
Hi annie! Just posted on the other thread. It's called "Early 20's and very scared". Here's the link for everyone-

Hi JT and welcome. Are your implants textured? I had textured silicone implants with my first exchange and my PS told me they wouldn't change and I shouldn't massage.
We have some ladies here that have or had saline and they can tell you more about the dropping and fluffing if they aren't textured.
-
I went for the organic Naturetint in a brown/black. I opted for permanent because I had heard chemo hair is difficult to dye--worse then gray hair--and I had both! The smell isn't as bad as other stuff I've used and I am happy with the lasting color.
-
Annie - great info, thanks!!
MBJ - were you still doing Chemo when you used the dye?
-
Hi Firni. The implants are not textured. They are smooth round high profile. My PS also told me I should not massage.
If anyone has any experience with saline and how they drop and fluff, it would be great to hear about your experience.
-
JT - I had saline implants until recently. The PS who placed the smooth round saline implants told me not to massage. He also said not to wear a bra but my skin was stretching so he suggested that I cut the front out of an old underwire so that I got some support but no pressure against the foobs. I had a good deal of asymmetry (not the same size, not on the same plane) but kept them for 6 months before having a revision. They changed quite a bit during that time. Now I have silicone and a different PS who told me to massage.

Many people recognized here------------Hello------
Deborah I'm getting pressure from my husbands group to do certain exersises. Don't want to screw things up. I have natrelle implants --doesn't id anything else. What exercises should i do. Last surgery was July31sy -09. He died Aug 20th !0---he rolled on the bed --i caught pushed and lifted.
It caused chest wall pain , arm pain, and foob pain.---found a pellett size nodule 4 days after. have had PET. Didn't pick up anything unusual in breast. But several preadenopathy nodes in left neck area, same side as original BC. I will push for fine needle bx. But back to exercises. What should I limit. WE wen't through this on foobville, but i have short term memory loss also, because of a traumatic brain injury and a brain tumor. I respect your opinion immensely, Please advise , as time allows----thanks Sheila
-
tnbcRuth: No, I didn't dye until 6 mopnths out, however, I bleached the hell out of it at 3 months!
-
sheila: Big hugs to you-you have been through so much. I just remember the excercises we aren't supposed to do: no push ups, no wing pull ups, nothing that works the pecs and makes them look or feel weird. Not, of course, that I could ever do a push up or pull up in my lifetime LOL!
-
HI ladies.. I am sorry I have not read any posts over these past two days...
I just saw how OUR FOUNDER has/had BC this year too. How did I miss this???????
Somehow, I sit here and wonder about this irony????
If anyone knows a thread, that works ( Kate.. could not get yours to work)... could you please PM me.. as I will not check the threads for a few days... I am putting on family parties and working a lot...
If anyone wants to reach me.. I DO look for PMS daily....
XXXOOO

I have just viewed the video clip where Dr. Weiss relates her very personal journey with BC.
Here's the link: http://www.breastcancer.org/about_us/press_room/press_kit/video/mw_message.jsp
-
Thanks Laura. I watched it the other day. It's always sad news when someone is diagnosed with BC.
-
Anniealso - Well, I quit taking Syn"crap" after diagnosed with DCIS..... have been on armour thyroid since and now even a Canadian version of the same. Love it..... have much more energy, even balanace with the naturals.
-
anniealso & vanderlady: I was never on synthroid, but I am on the armour and couldn't function without it!
-
happymom: I hope you will be very pleased once you are all healed and feeling better. give them tme to "shape up" though.
-
MBJ, is my chemo brain playing with me? You waited 6 months to dye but bleached at 3 months? What am I missing here?
-
Sheila: Oh my gosh...what a tragic story....I cannot fathom what you were going through....
I am not the one to ask about the various upper body exercises - I have to be dragged kicking and screaming to the gym. I just know from a technical and mechanical standpoint what NOT to do. As MBJ said above, anything that causes the implants to "animate" or flex will tell you this is not the exercise for you. One good exercise was described by Val - not sure if on Bras 101 or Foobville - but it is called the tricep kickback. I hope this link works....

I also do arm curls, with my elbows held closely to my sides.
Val or one of the other exercise gurus will be here to offer some other thoughts...
Deborah

tnbcRuth: Yep, I bleached it blonde--I have always had dark hair of some sort--didn't use color on it until six months, just bleach. I have been dying my own hair since I was 19, so I am not sure I would recommend this to a novice, so get help from a friend who knows what they are doing. Because I am naturally brunette, I used a blue, high lift bleach (professional strength) with only a 30 weight bleach, as I burn with anything stronger. That's it--I went from a strawberry blond to a true platinum, and as soon as I hit the 6 month mark, I dumped my brunette color on it. I just wanted to go topless, but not with the gray--Vanity!!!
-
Vanderlady -- why did you stop taking Synthroid after being diagnosed with DCIS? Is there a cause and effect relationship?
