Jancie... JUDY is just coming back from a cruise... she will check soon... she also checks text messages on her cell phone.... oh...and........ YES girl I have roughed it... I raised two BOYS in the country...... I can sleep with the bugs... in a tent... on the hard ground.... and yes... like ROBIN said.... so nicely...lol... I have used my finger....... BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
NOT PAST THE AGE OF 40.... bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I am buying you floss... that is all there is to it.....
-
Just an FYI to everyone - I can receive text messages on my phone but I have no clue how to respond back - it takes me FOREVER!!! I usually will find a young cute dude hanging around and ask him to respond back for me like I did last year at Freemont Street.
LOL - on providing the floss - can you get me the "tape" kind - that type works best for me - LMAO
-
Jancie, we will be going to the Venetian straight from City Center. SO... get those Vegas heels on BAYBEE!! Some may want to walk while others will want to cab it....
-
Jazzy - how far is the walk from PH to City Center and then from City Center to Venetian? I did buy heels and I want to be able to wear them but I don't want my feet hurting either. So depending on how far it is - I may opt to cab it with some other gals. Is this place at Venetian similiar to Jets where we went last year?
Thanks for the response - I will "jazz" myself up before I head to the City Center.
-
Jancie - good for you on the new wardrobe! I may be riding in that taxi with you if I end up bringing heels.
Laura - You know I was kind of wondering why Jazzy, Clare, & Susie had an open slot in their room.... (Just kidding - I know Quinn wanted to come this year but couldn't make it.)
A week from today some of you will be headed to Vegas and warming up the place for us! Woot Woot!
-
Laura, don't you worry about us new ladies! We can deal!!
Jancie, hope you have that lucky toothbrush packed!
I can't believe all the wonderful women I am going to meet next week!!
-
GOOOOOOD DAAAAYYY!!!! SUSIE HOW MANY DAYS????
-
I was wondering if anybody was around today? Am I the only one that doesn't work?
I just sent an email to fox news in Las Vegas informing them we were coming to see if they wanted to do some sort of news clip. I probably should have asked ya'll about this first but then I thought we were getting so close to the trip. I just sent a short message to the news desk. Anybody have a problem with this? If so, speak up! I just figured we might be able to reach out to more women to get their mammograms regardless of the stupid studies that have come out to not do them until you are 50.
-
Hey Jancie....I am here today not at work.....Piano Bar here we come. We can take the Monorail from Crystal to Bellagio cross the street and walk to the Venetian. Much closer than the Mirage is from NY-NY. It is going to be a blast
Hugs
Gisella

Hi tata sisters - slightly off topic but has anyone had teeth pain following chemo. I don't mean like a toothache - I mean all teeth aching and for several hours at a time.
One week - can't wait to meet all you lovely ladies - Saskie
-
Saskie...Have your teeth checked! I went way too long and found that I had massive infection in my root canal tooth. We are pretty much positive that the infection was the cause for my multiple growing lung nodules. Root canals can harbor a type of staph/strep bacteria and the only place it has to go is down through your body. My doctors and are are almost thinking that it could have been the cause of my multiple cases of cellulitis.
I know this isn't what you are talking about, but still have them checked. I know I was told to have mine checked before chemo, but I really should have had them checked when I was experiencing pain.
Gisella, isn't quite a walk from Bellagio to Venetian??
-
No tooth pain here. Sorry
Is it possible it's a sinus infection?
We, the planning has started here in earnest. MIL is coming to stay the week with DS while DH and I are in Vegas. I can't believe that one kid's schedule, food, clothes, medications, playdate, soccer, etc. can take up so much energy and planning to convey to another person! LOL Of course we are always reachable by cell phone, but she likes me to have everything down in writing for her.
Dh and I were looking online at shows today to see later in the week and trying to figure out what we want to do with our time. Neither of us gambles, but we do love fine dining, shopping and hanging by the pool! For those of you who have been with your hubbies, any suggestions for things not to miss?
Can't WAIT to meet you all!!! WAAHHOOOOOOOOO!!!!
-
OK My roommates and I along with Terri and Sherrie have been planning something and didn't want to tell y'all until it was in concrete....BUT since Jancie brought up contacting Fox news...
We have been planning on all of us doing our OWN pink glove dance! Clare has already ordered the pink gloves! Sherrie lives in Vegas and has connection with one of the local news stations. She has already heard from an anchor from one of the stations and she is very interested. Sherrie is waiting for more info from her. WE were thinking that we could have the guys at the piano bar play the song/songs we want, we do our little pink glove dance and the press can cover/video it.
Even if the press doesn't come we can still do the pink glove thing at the piano bar for ourselves...and I know some of us can video or have somebody video from our phones. I know my phone videos great. We can use this for breastcancer.org and share with everybody how we have found support here and are celebrating life!
SO I let tha Cat out of the Bag...I hope my roomies don't mind.
HUGS! Jazzy
-
Oh BOY! That sounds like FUNNNN!!!!!
-
Sounds like a lot of fun Jazzy - and thanks Jazzy - I am going to see dentist in an hour and my doctor tomorrow - will get to the bottom of it.

Fox news just contacted me back via email asking for more information about the group. Sounds like they are interested in doing a news story. I am sending them an email giving them a list of the group activities and see if they want to cover the story or not.
-
Jancie make sure and let them know how we all met online through bco. How we decided to meet in person last year and now with our 2nd annual reunion we have more than doubled the amount of survivors this year!
-
Jazzy - I am already one step ahead of you - LOL
This is what I sent them...
As you know, October is breast cancer awareness month. In honor of this, there is a group of 55 women with breast cancer that are traveling to Las Vegas from all over the United States, including Canada to meet for 4 days from October 1 - October 4. This is our 2nd reunion being held in Las Vegas.
We will be staying at Planet Hollywood but will be having group activities at New York, New York, The Bellagio, Treasure Island, Freemont Street, City Center, The Venetian, etc.
If you are interested in doing a news story on this event, feel free to contact me and I can give you times and locations of where we will be during those 4 days.
It would be a nice to spread the news even more about breast cancer and how it impacts so many women of all ages and all nationalities
They responded back with:
Are all these women currently living with cancer or are they survivors? Could you please forward along some details about what you’ll be doing while in Las Vegas? Thanks
I responded back:
This is a wide group of women in the sense that some are undergoing treatment at this time, others are survivors anywhere from 1 year and upwards. I would say the age range is from 30 years old to 60 years of age. We met each other at breastcancer.org - an internet support group for women with breast cancer. Last year 23 of us decided to get together and meet one another in Las Vegas for 4 days. It was a huge success and therefore, the group has increased to 55 women this year.A group of 5 women have worked very hard to organize this event, talking to the different casinos, etc. to get discount group rates and reservations for the group at the different functions. We will have a meet and greet at the Crystal City Center on Friday night from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm and then will head to La Scena Bar at the Venetian at 9:15 pm to whenever.Saturday we are meeting for breakfast at Treasure Island - they are providing a private dining room for us.Saturday evening - the New York New York Piano Bar has agreed to take reservations for us at 8:00 pm - we will all be wearing special t-shirts for this event. Last year we closed the bar down at 3 am.Sunday we are meeting for brunch at the Bellagio at 2:30 pmSunday evening we are going to rent a bus to take us to Freemont Street at 6 pm.Monday is a traveling day so there will be no group activities.I would think that the best events to cover if you wish to do so would be the piano bar on Saturday night or Freemont Street on Sunday evening, however, we would want notification if you want to do a report at Freemont Street so that we can make sure the group is all together at one location. Most of us have never met one another but we feel like family as we have been there to support each other. I can't even begin to express how supportive these women were while I was going through treatment. -
Sorry the cut and paste feature doesn't work so well on Firefox.
-
I know I put out there a group of 5 women - I did that in haste so please don't take it personal that someone was left out - I know more than 5 women have worked so hard on planning this event - I just took a number off the top of my head.
-
Oh my gosh! This is getting so exciting!! I can't wait!!!
-
Awesome! Great work Jancie. I think it is so important to put a face to breast cancer. And to show those who are scared or freaked about it that there can be for most of us the other side of the valley. It is so special that we have held each other (via cyber space) through the rough patches and now it's time to celebrate in the now and REALLY be able to Hug each other and dance to rejoice. AMEN!!
-
My Olympus camera has a movie making ability that can be down loaded to youtube. I am not technologically inclined, so I hope someone else has a camera that can do this. It would be great to keep the memories this way, and we can share it with our loved ones and friends!
-
Jazzy
The pink glove dance is a wonderful idea. Do we need to watch the video to practice the dance?
Jancie...girl, you are on the ball. Thanks for trying to get coverage for the group. This could really touch a lot of women out there, showing them that there is life after cancer
I just had a customer (he use to live in Vegas and still has a daughter there that works in one of the bars at NY NY) he gave me a dollar to play on the slots and said we would split the winnings if his dollar won. He said it is a lucky dollar. I wrote his name on it so I guess I will find out just how lucky it is.
-
OK LADIES.........
168 hours..............7 days.........1 week TILL VEGAS
Can I get a WAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Are ya all excited?? Just a wee bit??? LOL LOL
Get ready to get your Groove on & Party Hands
Take care Chow XOXO Susie
-
OMG! This is so exciting...A news crew and all I can not wait you ladies are the best and I cannot wait to meet you all. So glad I decided to join everyone. I am pretty selective with my friends and have only a few close true friends. My 2 sisters are my best friends in the world.. So glad I found more sisters.. Tata sisters you ladies are the best!
-
Just an update because I have had a doctor's appointment. I have not heard back from Fox news since the last email I sent them. I also don't know what the protocol is about filming inside of casinos as some patrons may not want to be seen on camera so I don't know if they have to get special permission from the casinos or not. It would be great to get some news coverage on this event but if Fox news is not interested then I will contact the other local TV news crews and see what they think.
-
AWESOME JANCIE~!
I personally think that the pink glove thing will be a special thing just for us...remember when last year one of us filmed the conga line? I think we can hand the camera to somebody to film just us....those of you who have never been to this piano bar have NO IDEA the range of songs and musical talents these guys have! They are the same guys as last year, I know because I was just there July 30th. :-) We will do some basic arm movements and maybe the electric slide kind of thing...whatever we do there will be plenty of time to practice something while we are there since we will be there a few hours. The guys don't start playing until 9 or 10.
We will be in Vegas to celebrate life and eachother and I think that should be our main focus!! If the press wants to do something then that's fine. This of course is my personal opinion.
Where is Laura today???
-
Jazzy - last year we got there at 9 pm or 9:15 - I remember they were only going to hold our reservation until 9:15 pm and they were playing! Which is great because then we don't have to wait long to get them to start. Oh my......we need to film the look on the faces of the piano players when they see all of us again! What a hoot if that cute canadian guy was there also!
