My Oueen! While I was reading I was really happy for you. Its good when things work right!! Now for those sucky bone issues...........
I hope that this next treatment Blows them to HELLLLLLL. Then you can concentrate on having fun.... Ill pray hard for you and your Dr. to get just the right healing combos.....
Fatigue is no match for some of the pain and suffering our sisters in this battle are fighting. However it is my battle. I went today and I am a bit anemic and in need of more exercise. I have some inflammatory issues with my hips and feet. But all other test were fine so far. I have to wait tomorrow for the bulk of them. But in all I am fine!!!!!!!! Whooo Hooo. The fear of this stupid desease can be really a buz kill. Ha. I have joined a tai chi class and some strength training. I vow to eat less and move more..... right after this nap......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I can not thank you all enough for caring. Gee I can not imagine how lonely this bumpy road would be.

Carie, congratulations on stable and non existing spots. That is great news. Now to get the same news with your bones. Where are those radio waves when we need them???????
Bold, I'm so happy that you are just anemic and lazy. (Kidding about the lazy part) I wonder if any of us will ever feel the health that we took for granted just a couple short years ago.
Caroline, when do you get your results??
I over did something over the weekend. I have the dreaded heavy feeling in my left arm and it is getting bigger than the right. LE has reared its ugly head. I did pretty good keeping it at bay for the summer. Now the sleeve and 3/4 finger gloves again in 90+ degree heat.
Maybe I can get DH to do the LE massage!! ;o
As for drinking, morphine and any other ways to imbibe/cope/de-stress remember, It's always after 5pm somewhere.
-
Firni: Sorry about your LE. But also check to make sure that it is not an infection. They can sometimes just pop up and will need antibiotics.
Bold: That is good news. Change of diet and exercise sounds doable. Take care.
Carrie: When I read the first part of your post, I wanted to jump with joy. Now your onc has to figure out that bone issue and the way you are responding to treatment, I am thinking that with more treatment the bone met will respond too. Keep up the good healing and screw that BC (sorry, I had to say it).
Caroline: Good luck on the 20th. Thinking of you.
Hugs to all.
Mandy

Bold, I'm glad to hear it doesn't seem like anything serious. Could you take an iron supplement for the anemia?
Firni, sorry about the LE, hopefully keeping the sleeve on for a few days will do the trick!
Surgery is in a week, so I have a while before results. I called my dr to get a pain killer until surgery, I have a busy week ahead and the more I'm on my feet, the more I'm in pain at night. She said all he would prescribe before surgery is tylenol3 which I already have at home from last year. So, the plan is to try it today and if it doesn't work, I'll call her back tomorrow and she will beg him
I did warn her that he wasn't allowed to send me home with a plain tylenol3, I want stronger, I'm tired of being in pain after surgery (and I've already been in pain for 3 months), I plan on being in lala land for a week or so... LOL! I don't know how much I'll be able to hit the computer, I'll ask my MIL for her laptop.. not sure she'll be willing to hand it over though.. but it's worth asking!
-
Caroline ~~ I LOVE lala land! I'll meet ya there!:-) {my onc upgraded my pain meds, so I'll probly get there before you.....}
-
You're too funny! I love how you keep your good humour through all this, you are a real inspiration!
-
Cebula: Think your surgery is coming up and just want to say you are in my heart and I am sending healing vibes your way. Take care.
Mandy
-
Best of luck Cebula, we will be praying for you!
I just got back from getting my eyebrows tattooed. They never did grow back after chemo, and I was tired of looking at my hairless face. The procedure we a bit more painful than I'd imagined but so far I'm hopeful about the results.
-
Thanks everyone, 2 more days... I've never been so excited to have surgery before! I only have tomorrow to prepare, so much to do. I'm setting up the living room so that I don't have to move for a week! LOL! Got plenty of books from the library, lots of movies on hold (so I can send hubby to replace the ones I watch everyday! LOL!), my MIL said she would lend me her laptop (I'll be sure to remind her...), ladies from our church will be feeding us for a week or so, I have someone picking the kids from school everyday, I'm even sending my oldest (he's only 7) to school with a house key so that I don't have to get up to unlock the door when they get home. I'm think I'm set! What do you all think??? LOL!
Texes, good for you, sorry about the pain though. How do the eyebrowns look like?
-
Caroline: You sound good to go. Keep us posted and take care.
(((((((((((((((Cyber hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Mandy
PS Texas: sorry about the pain but hoping that it will turn out to be worthwhile. More hugs.
-
Eyebrows look dark but good. Can't wait for them to lighten the promised 70%.
-
Caroline -- It sounds like you have thought of everything for your recovery. Hope the surgery goes well and your recovery is quick and relatively painfree. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.
Texas -- I had my eyebrows tatooed last December and they do lighten up a lot. Now mine need a little touchup because one is lighter than the other, but I'm really glad I had it done -- I think you will be too!
Firni -- My sleeve always makes my hand sweel and the glove makes my fingers turn purple, so I don't wear them much. So far, so good, but I need to go back and have the PT order me new "garments".
Bold -- I'm in the same boat with diet and exercise, but exercise is difficult with bad arthritis and a herniated disc. I blame my extra 15 pounds on Femara -- couldn't be because I love food...
I'm seeing my PS again next week to figure out out to deal with second capsular contracture. My implant was replaced last December, but it has developed CC again. I may just have it removed, but am not excited about being totally flat on one side.
Bonnie
-
Bonnie, hope you don't need to have the implant removed entirely. I had CC and finally had to go with an LD Flap. So far, so good. It's been about 8 weeks. I get the TE replaced with the silicone implant the day after tomorrow.
-
Texas -- I hope you love your new implant! Are your eyebrows itchy and flaky yet? Once the top stuff flakes off, the color will be lighter.
Both a tram and lat flap have been recommended to me, but I don't want another major surgery -- that's why I'm thinking of having the implant removed. I had a cervical spine fusion 8 months before Mx and also have osteoarthritis in most of my joins and a herniated low back disc, so this is all very overwhelming. It'll work out though.
-
Yikes Bonnie! I hope it all works out for you not having to lose the implant.
Firni, how is your arm doing? I hope it didn't develop into full blown LE.
-
Bonnie, there's nothing saying you can't take some time off and do reconstruction down the road a bit so you can give your body a rest.
-
Caroline: Tuesday's the day, isn't it? Thinking of you and sending healing vibes. Be well.
Hugs from Mandy
-
YES!!! I'm so excited, I can't wait! I probably won't get any sleep tonight. Right now, still trying to fill my tummy, I still have 53 minutes to eat anything
With the surgery not being until 2:30PM, I'll be starving, so I just had a big bowl of soup and now drinking a big glass of apple cider. I also plan on staying in bed when the kids eat breakfast!
Well, no laptop for me
So it might be a few days before I can stomach to walk to the computer... Thanks everyone, you've all been awesome waiting along with me and cheering me up until now. I am so thankful for this website and all of your friendship
-
GREAT NEWS!!! I just got home from surgery, pain level is good so far so I thought I'd get online while I can. Hubby is gone to get my percocet for when the surgery pain meds wear off
The dr. said it looked like some kind of rare bone tumor (can't remember the name, odd & long!) but completely BENIGN
It's still going to pathology so we will know for sure what it is in a couple of weeks, I need to move my follow-up a week sooner, so a tad less waiting. Results could still change, but right now I'm thrilled! Thought you might all like to know.
-
Caroline!
That sounds great to me! Keep it up and take care of yourself.

That's awesome Caroline!!!!
-
Praise God!! Cebula!! xo
-
Caroline, What fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you both with the B9 and being able to walk around a bit. At least at first. Heal quickly!
My arm is doing great. No major swelling. I believe I caught it in time. Hot and inconvenient, but so worth it when the swelling goes away.
Bonnie, Texas is right. If you need this implant removed, you can go lopsided for a while and then look at other options. It just makes my heart ache for everyone who has to go thru so much just to gain some semblance of normalcy. Your sleeve and glove shouldn't cut off the circulation. I think you do need to be measured for new garments. Additional swelling and turning purple is not right.
Texas, I'm so happy you got your eyebrows done. I still haven't done mine. I think since my brow ridges are now creating natural sun shades, I want to get them lifted up before I do anything permanent to my face. My PS said they have fallen enough to have it medically done, but I need to have an ophthalmologist do the surgery. I know of a good one who did some work on a friend's eyes but he's out of my network.
Carie, how are you doing in la la land? I'm just so sorry that you have to be there.
-
Caroline ~ YAY!! So happy to hear good news.:-) Was praying and thinking of you all day yesterday.:-)
I'm doing ok in la la land. Still don't know what we're going to do about the new spot on my right femur. I had some xrays on it on Monday to see if it's susceptible to fracture. Strangely enough I'm not hyperventilating waiting to hear from the onc's office. Tomorrow I go in to have a port put back in, my veins in my 'good' arm have apparently all packed and left.:-)
Gotta run. Time to take my daughter to book club. Love and peace to you all.:-)
-
Busqueen, so glad you're able not to stress over the waiting period.
Firni, sound like you're doing great!
I'm doing amazingly great, I can't believe I had surgery yesterday, almost no pain! And for once I got a great pain med. Still taking it because I don't feel like feeling any pain what so ever, the problem is that instead of sending me to lala-land, it's sending me to hyoer-land! I spent all morning sitting on a stole in the kitchen with hubby, chopping tomatoes. I have a homemade ketchup spread simmering on the stove right now, and tomorrow, I'm teaching hubby canning 101!! LOL! I obviously can't do much, but I'll sit and walk him through the steps. I have no desire to sit still in front of a movie, so I'm pestering everyone in different groups with long blah-blah-blahs...
-
I had my latest implant exchange done today. Hopefully it was the last one. My arm hurts like the Dickens (LE since the LD Flap surgery 8 weeks ago) but not much pain from the exchange surgery. Nipple surgery in late November ... tattoos in early January ... then I'll finally be done!
-
Sorry to hear Texas, hope the pain doesn't stick around too long. Just load up on pain meds
-
Better living through phamecuticals......
-
I spoke with the nurse earlier today and she was able to tell me what the dr.'s suspiscion is: Melorheostosis http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/melorheostosis Pathology will tell if that's the case, a rare & chronic condition. I'll know more in 3 weeks what that means for me.
-
That sounds like it could not be good, Caroline. I didn't go thru and look at treatment and prevention but being a chronic ailment could be troublesome.
I had my 1st colonoscopy today. No polyps (yea) but I do have a few diverticuli in my sigmoid colon. Doc didn't seem concerned. No diet restrictions. Just high fiber, which I do anyway.
Hey, Texas. Glad to hear the implant is doing ok so far. Sorry to hear about the LE tho. Do your massages and wear your garments. It's always worked well for me. And as Carie said, Better living thru pharmaceuticals.
