A Scar Story

Girls,

I thought my BC sisters would be amused by this story.  We have a corgi, and they are notorious nippers.  Last week, I had Utah out at the bus stop with my youngest son, and we were playing tag while waiting for the bus.  You guessed it; Utah nipped me really good on the back of the leg and put a pretty good gash there.  Later, one of my girlfriends was giving me a hard time because I didn't have a butterfly bandage on it, and was telling me that I was going to get a SCAR.  I'm thinking to myself, BIG DEAL.  I've got two much more impressive ones across my chest.  It's funny how things like that don't impress us BC girls.

On a side note, I love that dog, but I realize he needs some individualized training on not nipping, and I'm calling in a dog whisperer.

Love

Bobbie

That is funny and I can totally relate - once you've been down this road those tiny scars don't seem to matter much. Thanks for sharing.

As for your sweet puppy - I taught mine by rough housing and when they would bite or nip I would do the eh....eh loudly and then play again, intentionally putting my hand or arm in their mouths and fuss if the teeth went down.  It took patience, but worked for all but one (I have four).  However, the one it didn't work on is a little "off" from his seizure medicine so he gets a pass since he's so sweet anyway.  Good luck and even the best dogs sometimes get excited and "slip up".
