What do swollen lymph nodes in the neck feel like?

I was driving home yesterday when out of nowhere I touched my right neck.  It felt lke the tendons on that side (my cancerous side) were harder than the left, in the general region of coming down from the base of the ear to the collarbone.  I've had my husband feel my neck as well and he agrees that it's harder but thinks it's a tendon or something.  We both can't feel any lumps, but of course I'm worried that it may be a swollen lymph node or something.

Has anyone had swollen nodes on your neck? What do they feel like?

Thanks!

Marcia

I have had a swollen ymph node for 5 years. Its round, moveable, and rubbery like-that is how they knew it was benign but a lymph node is round, or oval shaped. I hope that helps ease your mind somewhat!

    Marcia,

I went through a period where I could swear something was going on in my neck.  I kept feeling these little bumps that I didn't think should be there, and it just didn't feel like the other side at all.  I swear, your mind can play tricks on you.  Don't feel your neck at all for a few weeks, then go back and see if it still feels different.  I was rubbing mine so much that I was making it sore!  You don't have a lump there, so I think you're fine!

    Hugs
    Bobbie
