Sherrill-I keep having a mystery pain in my "Bad" boobie and have asked two different docs. to check it out. I'm starting t think it's nerve endings reforming. Has anyone mentioned that to you?

I feel like tomorrow at this time I will be a different woman. Thanks for all your support.

    Hi Ladies!

Well, first off, I had my last Herceptin yesterday (doing a happy dance right now!)  I cannot wait to schedule my port removal, (probably have it done this month). Smile

My Onc also examined me regarding the sore area that I had the CT scan on, and he felt confident that it is nothing.  He said I do have a little soft tissue near my rib and that's what he said I'm feeling.  It's not hard and he said he doesn't believe it is cancer.  While I'm glad the CT scan didn't show anything, and his clinical assesment was that all is ok, I still will be watching the area like a hawk.  If it changes in any way, I will insist on more testing.  I see him every month for the next 6 months or so and he makes himself very available to questions/concerns.  I know he's not trying to downplay my concern, but I guess for now I should believe him that it's nothing!

Lisa, my onc did say that you could have soreness in the rib area for many many months after surgery, so I guess it makes sense.  Do you find out biopsy results tomorrow?

Lisa, Gillyone, and anyone else who responded to my concerns, thank you!

    Sherrill

Hi Gang o 'mine: Just home from meeting & visiting with gillyone!  We had a very nice time.  What a trip to meet someone that you have met on-line.  A 1st for me.  Anyway, I have a picture to post, but have to take my mom's camera back to her, have her e-mail it to me, then I need to figure out how to post it--so maybe the next millineum or so. Not really.....I'll try to get it on her today. Have  a great weekend everyone!

You guys look great. It is an amazing thing that we can make friends over the net and these are the friends that have helped us through the most emotional year of our lives. Wish we could all get together. WHat fun we could all have. LIfe is good, enjoy it through the day and the small moments make a great day. I have come to realize this after a friend passway yesterday. She just died and they have no idea. So everyone enjoy your life today and every moment. I am enjoying my day by rounding up cattle on the 4 wheeler with 2 kids and husband. This something  I could not do last year. So I love it. Hugs to all Dianne

    Hi Ladies,

Haven't posted in awhile, hope everyone is doing well. I have 2 more Herceptins to go, can't wait for that to be over. I was wondering if anyone that has taken Herceptin has had weight gain.  I had actually lost some weight a while back (during radiation and after) but it seems I am putting it on so fast, especially around the middle.  I am wondering if it has anything to do with the Herceptin? Any one with the same problem??? Thanks

josybee, I don't know about the Herceptin, but Femara sure inflates that spare tire quickly, in my opinion!

I have 1 Herceptin left.... Can't wait!!!  I can't wait to get back to normal!!

Josybee~ I was in a breast cancer botique today and I mentioned to the owner that I had gained weight and she asked me it I was on Herceptin... She said that a lot of women have told her that after they stopped it they were able to loose the weight and complained that that while they were on it could not loose it.  I was happy to hear that!!!

    Everyone looks sooo great!!!

Well, the journey still continues for me, but on a good note. I just had my Stage 1 DIEP surgery in Charleston with Dr Massey. I had a prophylactic mx on the left side, then recon on both. Got a nice tummy tuck out of the deal!! And lost 20 lbs. somehow. That was a great benefit as I was gaining weight and retaining fluid on femara. Hopefully it lasts. It feels wonderful to no longer have any breast tissue. With chemo, rads, mx, and femara I feel I have done everything possible to fight this disease. Will have my Stage 2 DIEP in Dec. It's great to hear of everyone's progress.

Hi!  I had my last Herceptin on 9/2 and am having my port removed next FridaySmile.  I can't wait to get that thing out.

I'm also on Tamox and have gained about 10 or so lbs since starting it in Dec.  As someone just posted about Herceptin causing weight gain...maybe that was my problem!  Now that I'm done w/ it, maybe I'll drop a few pounds. (I do really believe it is the Tamox, though)

I also get many compliments on my hair.  It is a little longer and curlier now than it is in my avatar pic.  The short hair is ok, but I had long straight hair before chemo and I miss it.

Well hooray for all the endings & new beginnings talked about today!  I'd give anything for a tummy tuck that would remove about 50lbs-Femara is making me look like the Michelin tire man!

Dianne congrats on being nearly finished! I am taking Arimidex and have not gained weight so far.

Joni1 I'm glad you are feeling wonderful after your stage 1 DIEP. A tummy tuck too yay!

And Sherril you're about to be deported, that's great news.

I had my exchange to a permanent implant at the end of July and the oher side lifted a little. The inmplant still needs to drop some more, I need to be patient for a while longer. Already it is looking and feeling more natural than the TE, so that is good. I had some fat taken from my tummy and transferred to my breasts at the exchange, a kind of liposuction I suppose, so I was pleased about that. My hair is also longer now than in my avatar pic. My manager asked me the other day if it was all my own hair, she made my day!

    Hugs to all.

Joni1 - Helllooo! I am so happy to hear your doing well and you sound pleased with stage 1 on your recon.  Wow I would love to lose 20 lbs.

I had my last Herceptin in July and am still waiting for the weight to start going away Yell I haven't been exercising much with the discomfort from the LE and possible PMPS (seeing my surgeons next week).   I am going to have full body thermography scan done next week too.  My mom was very generous and offered to pay for this for my peace of mind.  I an really excited and I hope that it will help pin point where this stupid pain/discomfort is coming from.

My dad told me I needed to update my avatar on FB so I figured it was time to update bc.org to...I have had two hair cuts to try to tame the FRO (my hair is very 'high' by the end of the day) since it is twice as thick as before bc.
