Baby it's cold outside

Unfortunately DH is not a Teddie and garter guy. Maybe I should go ultra casual though. That could be ineresting. Thanks for the idea.
-
I was just going to say to go in your jammies before I got to this page and it was brought up. Just dress ultra casual: crocs, yoga pants, and a t-shirt. When I heard about the fire at my church in May, it was 11:00 pm, I was wearing my purple (with orchid flowers printed) mumu from Hawaii. I put my pink crocs on to go see what the damage was at the church and my son said 'you are not going out wearing that are you?' I told him I was dressed and not going to change that close to bedtime.

Meece, I hope all goes well on Friday. I got my all's well from my oncologist last week. I see her every 6 months, too. I had a chest xray for an annoying cough I have and it was all clear!
-
Meece, so sorry you are going to miss your "me" day. Those are treasured times. I agree, go as casual as you can, no makeup, whatever you need to do. Prayers are with you. I agree that we all want this to just slow down or stop, but sometimes it just doesn't.
Hot, hot hot and no rain. That is not a bad thing. We won't see cool temps until late November.
-
Thank you all for your wishes.
The weather usually starts getting Fall-ish on Halloween. That is usually our first day of rain in this neck of the...desert.
-
We have sunshine.....YAY!
-
I fanned some of it from our area up to yours, special delivery.
-
Keep it coming...our green tomatoes need it to turn red!
-
Well, when I got home from work, there was a message from onc on my machine. She said the CT results "it looks good and it is stable". Great news. Now if I can pass Friday's test wit the same results!
-
Thinking of you today Meece and prayijng you just keep getting more good news.
-
Back at you, Paulding. I have to start refining my list of questions to take to the onc in two weeks. You will get results tomorrow right?
I think that if it were anything but great news, the dr. would have called you as soon as he knew. So I am praying that your news will be just as good.
-
Great news Meece, good luck on the test tomorrow.
weather today is bright and sunny, at the coast hurricane warnings are in effect with appropriate evacuation warnings for both residents as well as vacationers. We may get some weather from Earl but as long as it stays off the coast, our chances are slim getting any rain.

Yes Meece Friday at 10:45. I'm afraid to look at questions right now. I have a few floating around in my head but when I start to think about being stage 4 I freak out.
-
Hugs and prayers to you both Meece and Paulding. I had to wait 3 days for the results of my chest xray and it was 3 loooong days. I found my mind wandering to having to tell my kids, again, that I had cancer and on down that scary road. My oncologist has me going to see her every 6 months and to call or email her if anything seems wrong.
We have sunshine again along the coast!!! I'm taking my daughters boyfriend to the drive-thru tree today. He's never been and the redwoods are just too beautiful to pass up while he's here.

Do you ever notice that while you are awaiting results, that you tend to feel every little twinge in your body and think Oh oh!?
-
Meecie & Lisa ~
Hold on, we're here on the ice with you both!
Wonderful news re: your CT, Meecie.
{{hugs & prayers for you both}}

I'm new to this board but it sounded like one I'd enjoy. I'm looking forward to a nice sunny Labor Day Weekend! So now if the weather would cooperate?? We'll see. I will say prayers for all the others fighting that "unknown" news. It's so hard to wait for test results and yes you do tend to notice every little ache and pain. I try to just jot it down on a paper I put aside to take with me to my next appointment. I have a 6 m check coming up on the 22nd and I have a list of about 25 concerns. I think Ill trim that down a bit before going in. But it helps me to know I'm keeping on top of it, so I don't dwell on it as much. Don't know if that will work for anyone else, but it's my way of coping
-
I took a list of about 10 things into my PCP visit today. Came out with Rx for urinary tract infection (oh joy! haven't had one of those in about 25 years), situational depression & refills on the other things! 56 years old & my medications practically outnumber me (not really, just seems like it!)
On the weather front, it has been a glorious week of 70s & 80s. For some reason it has decided to be high 90s today & tomorrow & then drop back down for the weekend. I guess I can handle 2 hot days.

Eph3- Sometimes meds really suck. But they are helping us for the most part. Sometimes the side effects make that hard to believe though. Looks like our stats are pretty close. Im 46 and was DX last fall. I'm pretty glad I only have the one med(tamixifen) but I had to get one of those pill organizers because I kept forgetting if I took it or not. I wonder if that has something to do with a side effect(not thinking clearly) or if what my husband says is really true? He married a ditsy blonde? lol Jamie
-
Hi Jamie, Good idea on the organizer. I've been taking tons of pills for many things prior to BC that I have my medicine cabinet divided up like pill organizer. These in the AM, over here is noon, cant forget evening & then of course there's the sleep agents! Yeah! Life in the now.
-
Eph3- Well you just made me think of another. I have not been able to get a good night sleep since this whole thing started so I guess the 2 tylenol pm I take every night would have to be added to the list of meds. Have to ask Dr. about a sleep aid at appointment but really dont want to. It's odd, Im so fatigued but when Its time to go to sleep, I just cant?
-
dualgate, I was on tamox for 6 months and I was also forgetting to take it and had to resort to the pill organizer box. All I took was the tamox, multi-vit, calcium, flax seed oil, and 81mg asprin, you would think I could remember to take those 5 pills. I think that one side effect of tamox can be trouble sleeping. I have heard others take melatonin (over the counter) just before bed, to help with sleeplessness.

The trick is to get your mind to rest. Your body can be tired, but your mind can keep it going, and going...
I took melatonin during chemo. didn't notice much difference.
-
Meece, thinking of you tomorrow. I use med boxes - 1 for morning and 1 for evening. I took ambien while going thru everything and it worked. I was able to get off it pretty quickly after it was over.
Hot in the 90's and no rain. We are grateful hurricanes have left Florida alone this year so far knock on wood.
-
It hit 100° today. Tomorrow is supposed to be 102°. We will be in Santa Monica in the early day, so it will probaly be fairly cool. Then heading inland to bake.
-
Welcome Jamie.
Paulding and Meece, I'm thinking of you both and you're in my prayers. I have a three hour drive to Northern Michigan tomorrow and you'll both be on my mind as I drive the real road thinking of this new rough road we must all drive now.
(OK, too deep, I'm now going to lighten up - Geez).
I've had med boxes for a while, four compartments for each day of the week. Between my hayfever, asthma, lupus, IBS, vitamins and the ever wonderful Femera, I can't keep it straight. Like Eph, I take more meds than my age, I swear.
We finally had rain beginning yesterday and most of the day today. My flowers are perking up as is the lawn. Saturday will be jeans and sweatshirt day. My Michigan State Spartans and the Spartan Marching Band will be thrilled with Saturday's weather but as all of you already know - I WON'T be thrilled.
Have a great evening. I'm toasting all of you ladies with a glass of Black Box Shiraz from the Central California coast (which Meece and Smith and Eph probably know all about). Have to get my antioxidents some how!
-
Black Box is the Winery?
-
Sheila you beat me to it, I was just going to suggest Melatonin....lol. I had the devils own job of getting to sleep and was only managing an hour or two a night. In Aus, melatonin is available only on prescription, so my doc px'd me some about six months ago now and I've gone from one hour to twelve. Hope it works for you dualgate.

Anyone heard from Rae? New Zealand was hit with a pretty big earthquake today. Prayers for her and her family.
