Do you have a September schedule yet?
-
Hi, I am new to this forum. Does Glen Burnie count? Would love to be included in any gathering in the Baltimore area. Had a bilateral MX with TE on July 12th. Thanks,
-
We do - Our September lunch will be on Saturday, September 11th from noon till we leave -
We will be at Portside Tavern - 2811 O'Donnell Street in Canton -
I will be sending out a flyer and reminders over the next few weeks,
but mark your calendar now and help spread the word!

Angie - we would LOVE for you to join us. I come from all the way up north in Cecil County, right at the DE line. It is an awesome group of women and a lot of fun. It is very therapeutic to be around women who just GET IT! I finished all my treatment a while ago, but I get a lot out of the time we spend together. Please come next time - you will be glad you did!
Amy
-
Hi Angie - welcome!!!!
First how are you doing?
And second - ABSOLUTELY - join us! This is the most fabulous group of women and I know that you will have a great time....we meet again on Sept 11th for lunch.....
I look forward to meeting you!!!

I'll be in Owings Mills from September 5th until DD kicks me out. Hopefully end of September. Baby is due on the 16th. How close is Canton to Owings Mills?
Renee
-
BooBee, you are so funny...20 minutes - maybe 25 - and it is a very easy drive -
-
BooBee I live in Owings Mills. If you want me to come and get you for the luncheon Sept 11th, it's not a problem. Let me know. I'll PM you my phone number.
Kimberly...so sorry I couldn't make the last luncheon. My infection is clearing up. I'm scheduled to have the right tissue expander put back in Sept 29th. I was fitted last week for the prostheses. After wearing them for a few hours, they are so irritating. But, this is only temporary.
Everyone have a good week!

I have marked my calendar for September 11th. Can't wait. My doctor's office told me about your group before my surgery. I am looking forward to meeting you. I am doing well. Had my first fill last Tuesday, (sucked), and appts for additional fills every Tuesday for probably 5 more weeks. Looking to have my exchange surgery around October 15th. Question: what is the average time to wait after the last fill before the exchange surgery? My PA said 4 weeks, my surgeon said there is no hard and fast rule. Just wondering what others have been told and/or done. thanks,
-
I would love that Loni. I can't find my way out of a wet paper bag half the time so I'd love to hitch a ride.

Hello Baltimore Ladies, I would love to join you. I live in Elkridge. I had a lumpectomy in April and I am almost done with chemo (2 more Taxol treatments, next week and Sept. 1) Soon after I will be starting my radiation treatments. I am a friend of a friend of Ray Ellen who told me about this group. Hope I can join you in September!
-
Hi 2 Junebugs - And welcome to our group! Hope that you can join us for our lunch in September -

Hello Ladies;
This is my first time visiting your forum Any Baltimore Ladies? I had my surgery on July 23, 2010. I now have in a tissue expander which is sometimes annoying, but I am alive so I can handle it. I would love to come to your luncheon, however my daughter and I just scheduled our Mary Kay party on that day. I will see if I can change the date, not sure yet. It sure feels good to have some fun.

Hey Boo Bee!
How bout them RAVEN"S? Awesome start this week!!!)
MRDRN

Hey Ladies!
I have my prophy-mast and bilateral DIEP on 8/25! I am praying REALLY hard I feel well enough and am able to join you all on 9/11!
I may need a ride, but I'll work that out some how!
Keep me in your prayers next week!

Girl you are up in my thoughts - I am seeing someone in Dr. Bedi's office the same day for a 6 month followup so I am going to pop over and check in - who is going to be with you? Please let them know that if they need anything while they are waiting, I am available. I remember how long the day was for my son!
Now as for the 11th - if you are feeling up to it - do not worry about getting there - I can come get you and take you home -!!! You are awesome!!
-
Okay my fabulous divas - I had my revision surgery and got my nipples last Wednesday. Why do they still not look right? Love the nipples, love the cleavage, but why in all that is feminine are my boobs still starting under my armpits?
-
Hello everyone, I would also love to join this group. I am from Halethorpe, MD which is very close to 2junebugs! I had a lumpectomy 6/1 and just finished my 3rd round of TC... I find out on the 31st if I get 1 or 3 more roundss. (I am hoping it will only be 1 more)
-
Hi Alaina...You are in my prayers that your surgery goes well 8/25.
Hi Dawn46...I hope you only have 1 more round too.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the luncheon 9/11.
-
Thanks everyone! I am so trying NOT to freak out!
So, the current dilemma is, B-Cups or C-Cups? I've heard really good convincing arguments for both. I still have no idea what I want to do.
Kim, I am arriving at 9:30am and surgery will start @ 11:30am. I will have someone with me, so no worries there. Call me that morning to see if we can meet up. The more hugs the better! :-)
-
Alaina, that is a great question. I get mine reduced and lifted on Oct 23rd. I just love Dr Chang and his team! Best of luck to you !
-
Hello Ladies - Just checking in. Can't wait for the 11th. Two more fills, then exchange surgery on October 13th. Looking for at least a B cup - although thought about going bigger. Not sure about the nipples -
1bmore - are you any happier with yours? Who is doing your tattoos? I have researched 3D tattoos - any opinions out there? Looking at all options.
Alaina - my thoughts and prayers are with you now. Hope all goes well, and you make it on the 11th.
Hugs to all!
-
Hi everyone - I too cannot wait for the 11th - it will be nice to see everyone again. I will be sending out a new flyer in the next day or so and hope that you will help pass the word - would love to see new faces along with the familiar babes!
Angie - I am actually thrilled with my nipples. My acupuncturist who also got new nips, said she was jealous of mine - look nothing like Jamies, which I at first found very upsetting, but they are settling nicely and are cute - will gladly show them. I cannot have tattooing for 12 weeks so right now I am looking at late January, but that said, I am not having my dr do it even tho they will not charge me (which is a big favor), but rather, I am going to have a tattoo event at my house and have Vinnie come and do it.....he charges $350 for both so I am fundraising for that - hence my cute little "nickels for nipples" campaign, but the ones they do in the dr office fade and his are permananent. You can check out his website at www.littlevinniestattoos.net - I am thinking about having an event at my house where I will get my tattooing among friends and then drink.....and if anyone else wants him to do theirs, hey the more the more fun..... I had a friend go to him and his work is phenomenal. Even down to the illusion of milk glands - amazing....
Have a great day everyone - and I will see you all soon....
-
MRDRN.....Ravens are doing well so far. I can't Begin to tell you how fun it is to watch Ed play. I just wish he was closer to us. I arrive in Baltimore on the 7th and I can't wait to meet all of you.
I hope you can make it Alaina.

Good afternoon ladies!
Just got back from vacation. A wonderful week on the beach at Myrtle beach. Nothing is more relaxing then the warm sandy beach and salty ocean water!
I do have a question for everyone. Has anyone had problems with fluid retention during their chemo? This has been a tough thing for me lately and the fatigue is getting much worse. I'm not sure if the fatigue is part of the fluid problem. It happened so suddenly.
-
BooBee--I hope to meet you around town sometime! I heard the prediction today by an NFL sportscard owner that he predicts the RAVENS vs Saints in the superbowl this year! They are really going to be competitive! I just love my Ravens!
-
Dawn -
I gained 15 pounds of what was mostly fluid (and a few hundred little peanut butter cups) during chemo. I blamed the chemo (Taxotere) and the steroids for that.
You should probably call your doctor though. Mine was very concerned about fluid retention.
Good luck! Keep us posted!
