While on summer vacation recently, I forgot one of my swim boobs at a hotel.  Faced with the choice of not going to the pool/beach again at all or going without it, my 8-year-old told me "it's ok to go without it mommy, don't worry about the looks, lots of people have cancer, it's just nature."

Thought I'd pass this along to all the moms out there worried about their kiddos. They get it more than we know...

Wow-the wisdom and clarity amaze me. Good message from your girl!!

My  kids are teens-I was concerned about the wig, and if they'd feel strange having their peers see me with a wig/no eyebrows, etc. My daughter said, "I don't care what they think." And I know she meant it. It helped me be OK with my treatment look in public.

    Best,

    Catherine

That is one smart kiddo!  I can just imagine the hug afterwards.  It must have brought tears to your eyes.

That's so true.   What a wise and wonderful child you have.

Recently I was debating whether to ditch my wig in public after taking it off while hiking and my 11 year old encouraged me to keep it off. So I did.  I told her I needed to stop by the store on the way home. As we walked in the door she reached over and held my hand..

One smart little girl.  My daugther and a grandma and I went to the beach to celebrate.  I wasn't able to get in the water much but she was happy just having me there.  She is 7!
