    Can anyone tell me what the difference is in taken Aromosin from Femera or Arimidex.  I am just changing from Tomoxifin to Aromosin due to post menopause.  Are the SE the same?  Thanks

    Hi Betty:  I switched from Tamoxifen to Arimidex after 3 yrs on Tamoxifen.  During my 6 months on Arimidex, I did have issues with stiffness in my legs, particularly my calves/achilles heals.  In addition, I experienced vaginal dryness as well as continued to have the same menopausal symptoms as Tamoxifen.  In the end, I had breakthrough vaginal bleeding (I was premenopausal before chemo which threw me into "chemopause") - seems Arimidex can stimulate the ovaries in younger women.  I was immediately put back on the Tamoxifen  I am nearing the end of my 5 years of tamoxifen and hope I can go on one of the AI's - I truly believe the benefits far outweight the SEs.   Good luck!  Liz

    Hi Betty

    I switched from tamoxifen to aromasin after 2.5 years and was pleasantly surprised.On tamoxifen I had aches and pains and felt really....old.....On 5 years of aromasin I did not have any perceptible side effects at all and felt pretty good! The only thing I noticed was some hair-thinning.

    So I hope you have a good experience with aromasin too!
