When Do You Start Counting

I hope everyone is doing well.

This January will be 2 years since I found my lump.

This Labor day wyears? eekend is 1 year since I removed the lump.

And it's not until April until I hit 1 year since since treatment

They say the first 2 years 70% of reoccurences occur. When does that 2 years start?

my onc told me the clock starts the date of diagnosis....

My oncology Nurse said " The day you are DX you become a survivor"

And thats the date I use.

I use date of diagnosis. My onc uses end of treatment. Either way...you are doing great!

All "survival" figures are done from day of Dx.

When I saw my BS last month she bumped me to yearly visits as she said "you are 2 years out" (which I won't be until October) So she obviously counts from Dx date for scheduling check-ups.

I sort of am counting from end of treatment in my head for myself, although my Dx date is still the significant one. I will be happier once I am 2 years from end of treatment.

While it seems I can remember all of the dates, diagnosis, surgery, chemo (start & finish) and radiation - I go with the diagnosis date and my anniversary date.
