My cancer doctor called and said that my brain scan came back abnormal due to pituitory gland.  He has referred me to an endocrinologist this week.  I just did five months of chemo "ACT" and 24 radiation treatments.  My tests were to begin in September, but I did tests every week in July because my digestive system isn't working properly and horrible headaches   Should I be concerned, because I am getting anxiety.   Has anyone had to deal with this issue?

YES! YOU MAY HAVE A BENIGN TUMOR ON YOUR PITUITARY GLAND. I HAD A CONDITION CALLED PROLACTINOMA. ITS TOTALLY NON CANCEROUS. WAY BEFORE I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER MY GYNO DID A FULL HORMONE PANEL ON ME. MY PROLACTIN LEVEL WAS HIGH AND SHE TOLD ME THAT I PROBABLY HAD A BENIGN PITUITARY TUMOR. WELL SURE ENOUGH I WAS REFERRED TO AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST, HE RAN A SCAN OF MY BRAIN AND I DID INDEED HAVE A SMALL TUMOR ON MY PITUITARY. PITUITARY TUMORS ARE TOTALLY NONCANCEROUS!! I TOOK MEDICINE ONCE A WEEK AND THE TUMOR IS GONE AND I AM GOOD TO GO!! SO SEE NO WORRIES! IF YOU HAVE TIME GOOGLE PITUITARY TUMORS AND YOU WILL SEE THEY ARE THE CAUSE OF A FEW CONDITIONS AND THANK GOODNESS NONE OF THEM ARE CANCEROUS, PM ME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS.

     Tracey-

I just had to comment that this is why I love this site.  You jumped to the aid of kdkickapoo who was obviously scared.  I'm sure your information is a mental lifeline ...I know I've been thrown a few during my times of panic.  Women like you are making a huge difference to us all.

I don't have any info about this, but wanted to say thanks to Tracey and all of the women who watch this site and support the members...we've all been there.  THANK YOU!

kdkickapoo I am also sending you good vibes and pray you will be hearing good news soon.

Kdkickapoo Love your name on here it is cute (smiles) My sister also has a tumor on her pituatary gland she has for several years they didnt seem to think it was a big enough deal to take it out, they just said they would watch it to see if it was growing and if it did then they would do surgery so far it has been fine, she did have headaches too but they gave her meds for it and now she feels great- big hugs to you

Thank you ladies....met with specialist today and he said "no tumor", but I did blood work to check my hormone levels.  He believes that meds I took during chemo may have made my pituatary gland inflamed.  Whew!  My stress has disappeared until next month when all the tests begin to see if chemo and radiation worked. Thanks again sisters...your support helped me!
