Good job Cake!!! What ever you are doing, keep doing it!

Maybe i should stay up tonight and burn calories. I think I am about a pound too heavy for my low goal.
-
Good Friday morning ladies. It was NOT good when I stepped on the scale this morning. I am up to 125#. I must get back to my serious elabing. I'm going the wrong way. Today is another day and I will exercise and I will eat healthy.
Renee, Sorry to hear about your grandma, my condolences.
Here's to everyone else losing this week.
-
I have not lost what I gained on vacation.
I know what I need to do.
-
Suzwes, it is frustrating to go the wrong direction, just make a U-Turn and put on your seat belt.
DRUM ROLL
Attention, Attention!
Announcements, Announcements, Annou-ncements!!!!
On a Friday morning, Aug. 6th to be exact..................
I hit a new low for the elab project:

Biking, yoga, fresh veggies & the accountability of the group have delivered me to a full 12 pounds below the highest weight of my life, in January.
ELAB ELAB ELAB
I'm just so psyched outta my gourd for it to register on a Friday!!!!
Thank you Meece for your brainchild here.
Thanks to the 'biggest losers' in our midst for continued motivation and winning example.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Three cheers for any & all considering making better choices.
Three cheers for anyone reading along intrigued by the idea.
Three cheers for each increased movement in our days!!!!!
-
Congratulations Faith. I am so happy for you!

I can't wait to get home tonight and weigh. I was already drivving in when I remembered that I was supposed to get on the scale this morning. I hate weighing in the afternoon, because I have my day's meals still inside!
I am heading over to a photographer's to see the proofs of my Wall of Hope pics, and DH and I also had pics taken. THe photog is a 20 year BC survivor, and takes the WoH pics for free. If you want to buy your own, well, then you pay, but the sitting fee is free.
***Wall of hope is a pictorial in our city's local magazine every September. The entire magazine that month focuses on BC and Survivors.
-
Congratulations Losers
Valerie said everything I was feeling this morning.
The same # as last week. 161
I was good this week but Im not exercising enough because of the heat.

By the way ladies it was my grandmother (we call her mama or maw maw here in the south) that passed away, not my mother. She was buried today. It was extremely hard on me, I was born on this grandmother's birthday and I was her very first grandchild. We were very, very close. I called her or she called me every week for almost our whole adult lives. When I havd a problem I called her and had her call her prayer partners from her church to help her pray about my problem or situation like when I found out I had breast cancer. Now I haven't got that support system to go to in person. It really has been hard since she got so sick a few months back to not pick up that phone and call her each week. It's going to even be harder knowing she isn't there. What's so funny is when we would go to visit my grandparents home, it was always... we're going to Mama Stone's house now she's gone and all I have left is my Papa, but today I found myself still saying we were going to Mama's house. LOL! Thanks for all the well wishes, prayers and hugs. We are leaving in the a.m. between 3-4 a.m according to DH to go on vacation and will be gone for 8 days. I'll chat when we get back. Till then remember Eat Like a Bird!!!!
Renee

Renee ~ Don't know if you're checking back in before you go to bed since you are getting up sooooo early, but I wanted to wish you a wonderful, relaxing vacation.
I'll miss you! Be safe.

Congrats faith! ♥
Good luck next week to those of us who will be E-LABing again. I need to get back on the NordicTrack. I bought a medicine ball & will start to get these saggy arms in shape. Looks like I am flying like a little bird sometimes! LOL

That is where I want to tone up,too. Happy arms....keep waving even after I stop.

For Ladies who use EVO
-
Thanks Seyla. Crap, I use Beroli. Now what do I use????
-
Its funny i use bertolli or FB whichever is on sale.
And i was using it when the news came on. Im wondering if they were adding cheap oils or it wasnt 100% EVO and we were paying more.
-
who knows, who ever knows. Ya try to buy, eat, do the right thing and then something like this comes out
-
Now i really feel stupid.
Because all these years I was saying i even used EVO and still got cancer. Well you know what I mean.
I guess we should leave it alone.
I also heard in the news that by October all the EVO's that are affected will be off the shelves.
-
I've used several of those brands, also store brands that were cheaper (so they would be even more likely to have been some kind of mixture.) It's just sad. There should be truth in labeling of all things but especially food, which we can't live without.
What next? I'm still not over the fraudulent fish labeling (and the conservation issues on that as well.) If you haven't heard much on that, this article covers it pretty well:
http://www.conservationmagazine.org/2008/09/impostor-fish/
It's scary, but good, when these things come to light.
-
Thanks Elimar. Even with organic food. How can you be sure it is? unless they grew in your back yard.
-
I hate to spend the money, but I do. I have even gone olive oil tasting. DH just couldn't get into it, but he does let me buy.
I have a stupid thing to admit. I weighed in on Friday, took the picture of the scale because I had hit a new low....And I forgot what I weighed! I have to find the picture to post, so Iwill remember.
I went to the dr. today and weighing in with wedge heels on, jeans and a blouse and heavy necklace. her scale showed 164 even. Cant imaging that my clothes weighed any less than a pound and a half. So I think I am doing good.
-
So sorry for your lost MiMi.
Was at doctors office yesterday and still at my same weight. I'm please with that because I've not been able to do cardio exercises due to pain in knew. Turns out I have a benign tumor in my back and will probably have it removed next month. It will be so nice to be able to sit and sleep again without pain and without pain medication.
-
Oh, to be pain free. I will be keeping you in my prayers, Paulding.
I am not around a scale today, but as I was leaving yesterday I stepped on the scale fully clothed, shooes, jeans, top etc. I weighed 162.8. I hope i was wearing more than a pound of clothes.
Good luck on weigh in today ladies.

Good Friday morning August the 13!!!!!!
I gained weight.
I really cant ELAB anymore.
I need help. Since the weather is gorgeous should be starting my long walks.
I weigh 163.2 this AM (thats up to from 161 last week.)
My sins this week were:
2 slices of pizza
nice bowl of wheat pasta
8 oz bag of cheese nips (they were baked) finished the same night.
I hope you are doing better than I.
-
Shelia - the last time I weighed myself was two weeks ago and I was.........
173.6 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I give up...I have dieted faithfully, exercised and deprived myself of my favorite foods for too long. My body is out of whack chemically, hormonally and mentally
None of my doctors seem to care that I am so whacked out and the only thing they offer is 'eat less, exercise more' attitude!!! HELLLOOOO - I have been doing that and it is not working!
I have decided to watch my carb intake but not deprive myself completely. If I do indulge, I am really watching my proportions and incorporate more veggies and exercise in my life.
It is the best I can do right now...
Congratulations to everyone who is on track with their weight loss goals and big (((HUGS))) to all
-
I think have figured out a source of a lot of your frustrations..... you all are weighing yourselves too much. If you see any change in the wrong direction it is upsetting you all. As a personal trainer I can tell you that is the worst thing you should be doing. Also the actual weight on the scale might not be changing as much buch you inches can. This is my suggestion.
Go out and buy a measuring tape and write down the date and your current weight and then measue these areas and write them down.
Neck, Chest (if you have one, I dont so I dont bother measuring mine), waist, belly button, hips, upper leg (halfway between hip & knee), calf, bicep & forearm.
Do this once a month and only weigh yourself every 2 weeks and keep track of that to see if it helps any.
I think this will help you all be more positive about yourself!

oink-oink
And that is for me, not anybody else.
I love ya, Jenn, but I could never go two weeks without weighing myself. If things started to go downhill [actually, uphill, because that would be a gain (!) lol ], I'd rather start a correction with only a few days having passed instead of 14 days.
I am 2# more than last Friday= 151.4. I can't seem to get back to what I was before my vaca. June 30= 145.2 ~ July 1-the day I left= 146.2 ~ Jul 13-next morning after returned home= 151#
I know I have eaten things I shouldn't have. My thighs tell me that! I have majorly slacked off in the excercise department. Think I'd better return to the Motivation thread.
I realize a lot of this is mental. I guess I need an attitude adjustment!! lol
I feel sluggish, I feel sloppy, I feel heavy. I feel like crap!

Jenn. I'm afraid that I have to echo Valjean's concern over weighing less often.
I do indeed weigh in once a day, first thing. It is the one thing that helps me to limit my eating-out behavior. I am committed to doing everything that I can to stay below 145 pounds.
Today I was up a pound and a tad from my lowest low. The explanation doesn't take a psychic. This weekend was my husband's birthday & we went out to dinner. I ordered the salmon, but no doubt it was all the gooie-good sauce that added the calories +++ plus the cheesecake birthday cake. Then we had a two day road trip.
So I'm celebrating being within a pound & a bit from my lowest low.
You are completely correct though, that we can't connect our self-esteem to the number on the scale. Maybe what we should do to shift our focus, is to report in here with our daily exercise. That does seem to be within our control to effect.
Today I participated in a 75 minute yoga class!!!!! I am also working very hard at getting more liquids into my day. Drinking more water, but I'm sure I wouldn't meet your quota-suggested amount...... but moving in the right direction.
Keep at it team.
Keep at it.
Better choices every day!! Better choices.

Well good Saturday ladies! I'm home!!! I really hated to come home I loved, loved Daytona Beach. It is so much nicer than Panama City Beach, FL. Its cooler and the humidity isn't quite as bad also for August there wasn't any seaweed which is notroious in Panama City Beach. O.k. I haven't weighed and I really think I am going to give myself a week to get back on track because I know I haven't eaten right while I've been gone. I didn't eat a lot of snacks, but we didn't eat healthy between my grandmother passing and running the week before we left and then the vacation... I have not been dieting for 2 weeks!! I have eaten burgers, chicken fingers, fries, burritos, etc. BAD, BAD, BAD!!! Now back to the real world and real life food that's good for me.
Everyone else just needs to stay focused and positive.
Sheila and all the rest of you, stay positive! you really aren't doing that bad, actually your weight can fluctuate as much as 5 lbs in any given day due to constipation or fluid retention/swelling in your hands, feet, legs, etc. Truth is very few people stay at the same exact weight everyday and the reason is exactly what I just listed. The people that do stay at the same weight day in and out don't have any of those problems or don't take breast cancer meds.

Thank you for your inspiration Jenn and Mimi. You know, I would be just as happy at this weight if my arms were trimmer and my waist more defined. I think I will get my measurements down and start watching them more carefully than the weight, although I will still be weighing in.
Although we are on our mini vacation, I am still paying a little attention to what I am eating. I splurged with my favorite Liver and onions at "Harrris Ranch" but skipped the mashed potatoes. Last night I had King Crab for our anniversary. BUT, we walked around Golden Gate Park yesterday and probably walked more than 5 miles.
This is probably tmi, but I have chronic constipation, and when I get a handle on it for more than a day or two, I lose weight. I went to two drs. this week and they now want me to have a colonoscopy. GP says women with BC history are more likely to develop colon cancer. That is scary.
Well, girls, don't lose heart. If nothing else, stay here to maintain. I think it would be tough for me to maintain if I didn't have the accountablilty here.
Have a great weekend.
