    No, it isn't my lowest here, but I changed my picture anyway.  Only .4 to match my low for our E-Lab.  and 2.7 to be able to see a 15*.* as my weight.

    No weight loss for me either I guess I am eternally stuck!  At least till I get motivated to get on the dreaded tread mill or stop taking Tamoxifen  Wink  in 5 yr.  Don't think I can wait that long to get into the 13* .  So, what to do, stop eating at burger king for one... LOL!  I had a grilled chicken sandwhich for supper tonight and a few fries.  I have been working such late hours and havent had time to cook lately and I know that is one reason the wt is also stuck.  It's sad to be one of those people that have to almost have a non-existent meal intake to lose weight.  I'll keep telling myself Eat like a bird!!! Eat like a bird!!! "and a rabbit too"  hehehe

    I really understand what you're saying, Renee, about almost having a non-existant food intake to not gain weight. I was just a bit above 145 before I went on vaca a few weeks ago & I really didn't think I overate. Yes, I had some pizza, yes, I had some cake, yes, I had some drinks, but, for cryin' out loud, I didn't stuff myself. Yes, I had some pop for lunch & some munchies, but, to repeat myself, I didn't think I gorged myself. Yes, I had a shake & a dish of ice cream, but I didn't go overboard. (I sure could have-I love ice cream!)

    Can't I ever eat whatever I want ever again without gaining weight?? Can't I enjoy myself for a few days here & there without the anxiety of gaining a few #'s hanging over my head??

    Do I always have to EAT LIKE A BIRD?!?  Sealed

    I guess it's a good thing I don't eat like that all the time or I'd be as big as a HOUSE!!!! Or, at least the size of one of those vultures, or BIG BIRD.  LOL

    Valjean, I know exactly what you are saying!!  I took my 18 month old granddaughter to Dairy Queen to get ice cream today and I feel so guilty because I had ice cream for crying out loud.  I'm afraid to eat anything for fear that I may gain a flipping pound.  I also had a small serving of spaghetti for my supper tonight, first time in over 5 months that I've had any.  Boy was it ever good!!! Sealed  O.k. guess I will be good the rest of the weekend.

    Val...Renee....I know exactly what you are saying. For me the weight issue is more staying healthy than anyything else. Yes I bought those snack size ice cream bars thinking I was gonna eat them only one. today I finished the last 3.

    Now I need some snack and Im thinking my weight doesnt start with 15* since I had those bars.

    I wonder all you can eat every other day and eat like a nothing sounds like.

    Maybe I make mini bags 100 calories popcorn. Its not that mini.

    Ok going to get serious about this still just staying the same but went clothes shopping and almost cried very depressing.  I ahve been doing well on my exercisong getting on my bike and doing my strength exercises so we will see.  Been lurking but no posting lately life is really busy.  Teh garden is going gang busters so it is easy to eat lots of veggies.  Hello to all will try to stop in a littel more.

    215 this week again.

    Just wanted to give everyone a tip. Sugar is the worst thing you all could eat. Sugar is everywhere so make sure you read ingredients. White breads and pasta and sugars too. Your body physically cant process it so it just causes your body to store fat. Articifial sweetners too are terrible if not worse than sugar. The only sweetner you should use is Stevia because it actually comes from a plant.

    We all know sugar is bad for us.



    It's very hard to not splurge once in a while.

    Honey is great. It is actually an anti oxidant. I put it in my yogurt every morning

    I have a tip. If climbing stairs is not a problem for you, take two stairs at a time.  Long time ago I read that unless you take them two at a time, you aren't really challenging your glutes to work.  Two at a time and you get more of the high-stepping "stairmaster" effect.  

    It goes under the same category as parking as far from the building so you can get a few more steps in, and taking the stairs rather than the elevator.  I do all that so automatically that I don't even think about it anymore.  Every little bit helps, right?

    I am happy to hear about honey, Jenn.  I just bought a jar yesterday, then read the sweetener post, and thought "Oh, NO!"

    Switching to honey. Love the stuff but thought it was a no no. I stopped using it during chemo. because to the slight risk of bacteria. Got some local honey and will stop by the farmers market tomorrow. Oh, yeah, I'll pick up some veggies too.

    Lisa and Meece ya'll sound like you both are going to be on the "Healthy Band Wagon"... good luck with that!  Isn't honey fattening?  Just curious???

    Honey has the same affect as sugar in our bodies. It makes us fat. However, if you are not diabetic or watching your weight, a little bit of honey is fine.

    I don't eat a whole lot of sweets, however i am craving something right now.  I rarely bake over 6 cookies for DH and I , and if we ever have a cake around, it stays around so long that most of it gets thrown away.  Ice cream usually gets freezer burned before it is finished.  Especially since our nest is now empty.

    My thinking about food has changed.  It was evident today when I went in our break room after lunch.  Someone had left a ziploc with several cookies on the table.  I looked at them, and although a cookie would be nice, I thought "If someone else had the ability to resist those cookies they brought, why should I scavenge them up?  I can resist them, too."

    Okay I am craving something my Grandma use to make when I was a kid. She lived with us for many years and when the Zucchini would get huge she would cut it into 4 inch vessels take out the seeds, and stuff them like you do stuffed peppers. Low cal and delicious. Hitting up the Farmers market tonight if it doesn't get rained out again.

    I'm not saying drink a whole bottle of honey but a little bit as a sweetener is wonderful. I want to tell you all my fat story so you will not think I'm some skinny fitness freak butting in here. I was always skinny, a size 2 to be exact I'm 5 foot tall. I have been a health club manager and personal trainer since 2001. I have always worked out and ate what I considered at the time to be a healthy diet. Then a few years before my cancer diagnosis, the unthinkable happened. I gained 50 pounds in 6 WEEKS. For most people it might not be as obvious but remember I am only 5 feet tall. I went from a size 2 to a size 12 instantly. I eventually made it to a 14. I was still in a gym working and working out. I went to the dr because I knew this couldnt be right. We found out that all of my hormones were out of whack. I tried everything to lose the weight and not a pound would drop. It was embarrassing because here I was supposed to be helping people lose weight and not one pound would come off of me.

    Then I was diagnosed with cancer (the hormones being crazy did it) and that led me to all of my research on eating and eating with cancer and how eating affects your whole life. I changed everything in my life and lost 45 pounds in 3 months and have never gained a pound of it back. I am now a size 4.

    I have put people in my health club on my meal plan and they have lost the weight they wanted to. I have one girl who is 5 foot 1 and she weighed 190 pounds. She has been following what I have been telling her (not 100% but as close as she can) and she is already down to 170 pounds she started about 5 or 6 months ago. And now her sisiter who is the same height as her and is 210 pounds is starting it too.

    I am dedicating my life to helping people get healthy and that is why I think it is important to help those who have had cancer especially because weight is an  important link  to cancer. You cant make the change drasitcally because you wont stick to it.

    Ladies, Jenn is good!  I have been gaining her help in straightening out my diet.  I think those of us who are "stuck" at the same weight might benefit from different advice.  I am feeling so guilty about having chips with my lunch.  Not that Jenn is making me feel that way, but I am really starting to look at fat content and calories from fat.  We should all be blown up for the Macy's parade if we eat all of these processed foods.

    Remember early on talking about the "kale chips?"  They are so good, and can alleviate that urge to snack on something crispy. I think I will make some up today or tomorrow.  Think thin thoughts ladies, weigh in is just 67 hours away (I think).

    48 hours until weigh in and I feel pretty good that I won't be gaining.  I will keep paying attention to what I eat, and what I drink! 

    So, Jenn, what about wine?  I have an occasional glass, mostly reds.  Is a few glasses a week super bad?

    Wine is really good for you. Dont drink a whole bottle but a glass or 2 is fine. I try to drink red wine but I just dont like it so I do Pinot Grigio. If you are not a wine drinker or just want a change he is a recipe for a very yummy drink.... for those of you who like margaritas did you know that a regular margarita had about 1000 calories plus a ton of sugar. He is a recipe for a margarita that only is 80 calories and the only sugar is natural sugar so it can be processed.

    Salt the rim of your glass if you like

    Put 1 shot of tequlia (make sure it is not an artificial flavored)

    club soda

    ice

    squeeze 1/2 a lime stir and enjoy.

    Your first time you may need to do a whole lime just because it may be a little strong for you.

    This is like the wine only one or 2 glasses

    I just made a huge fruit salad and drizzled a little honey on it to cut the lemon juice a little.  Yum Yum! 

    Jenn, I'm so glad you are here to bounce questions off of. If I may? Hubby and I are doing the low carb diet, but breakfast is so hard. He cheats and either skips it or eats pop tartsFoot in mouth  I'm sick of eggs and miss my cereal. What is the best way to start off the day?

    Do you have a healthfood store near you like Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Whole Foods etc.... or does your regular grocery store have ab "organic" area.  I get a cereal at ours the brand is Barbara's and it is shredded wheat. Not the shredded wheat the kids eat with all the sugar. It doesnt have any sugar at all. The best part is that is has 40 grams of fiber. That is a great way to start off the day. Or another way to start off your day is to make a smoothie. Put some frozen berries in  a blender with s splash of juice and some plain yogurt.
