how long can one wait before treatment begins?

I am only stage one. It was found in March. The doctors don't seem to be in a hurry to get anything done. Now my cardiologist won't allow surgery until further tests are done. So with luck it will be the end of August. I am getting so frustrated, but the doctors say that it is small, 1.5 centimeter and not agressive, and therefore no danger. If it isn't dangerous, why do I need surgery and radiation? Why not just leave it be?

I can understand how frustrated you must be. My lump was found with my yearly mammagram in April. I finally had my lumpectomy last week. In your case I see the cardiologist wants to do further tests. This tells me the Dr. is concerned with your heart. Remember as many people told me while I worried and waited the tumor has more than likely been growing for 5 or more years so a short wait is ok. Ignoring it or letting it be for the long hall will only allow it to get bigger and spread into the lymph nodes.

thank you for your reply. It is appreciated. I had no idea that it grows that slowly. I guess I wonder why it wasn't caught earlier then since I have mammograms done every 6 month. That is because I had ADH twice
